Doug Batchelor study on Daniel 12 with literal, future 1260, 1290, 1335 days

- Doug Batchelor, a Seventh-day Adventist pastor, does the Sabbath School lesson at Sacramento, CA church in December, 2004.
While believing in the historical application of Daniel 12 of 508AD - 1798AD etc. (as I do), he shows that the 1260 days, 1290 days, and 1335 days may very well be actual, literal days at the end of time (which I believe too).
This video is copied from a DVD that had a few technical problems, so is not as good as it could be. It is uploaded in order to help our SDA believers especially to delve deeper into Daniel and Revelation, and study them to see that many things in them will no doubt have a future, literal fulfillment.
Thank you Pastor Batchelor. 4 years ago you were correct on Daniel 12. Glad you have the courage to speak the truth. Please continue to speak the truth no matter what the consequences. Those that are wise will shine as the stars.

I don't disagree with the historicity view but Daniel timelines of chapter 12 are a future application as Marian Berry found in Bible study and thorough research under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Pastor Batchelor is in the correct track. I'm thankful I found this video tonite. Amen

Brother, Pastor Doug is correct. I saw this video when he first preached it. He got a lot of heat from Church leaders over it but he is absolutely correct. The 1260, 1290, 1335 days are literal and future. The 7 Trumpets also I have a dual fulfillment and have a literal future fulfillment.
What if the 1290 and 1335 days are literal days of fullfilment prophecy ? When Adolf Hitler ( King of the North) declares war on the USA ( king of the South) on 11 december 1941 and this conflict of World War 2 ends of struggle 1290 days you come to 22 june 1945. The last day of fighting ( battle of Okinawa). 45 days later you reach the 1335 days on 6 August 1945. Atomicbomb on Hiroshima.

The life of Jesus Christ and the 1335-days
There was a sign in heaven signified that Jesus was about to be born. 30 years later he presented himself to be baptised. on the first day of baptised he was lead out into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil for forty days and forty nights. at the end of the Forty days and forty nights Angels minister to Jesus Jesus left the wilderness one day. then started his ministry which was 3 and a half years or 42 months or or 1260 days. after his ministry he was put to death for three-and-a-half days this equals 1335-days. 5:17 Jesus said that he came to fulfill the law and the prophets and he did fulfill Daniel chapter 9, which is the equivalent of Daniel chapter 12 which we will fulfill the 1335-days.
So we have 30 +1+40+1+1260+31/2=1335-days
Daniel Chapter 12 Starts with Michael standing up. the Angel list the time periods, starting with time times a half of time which equals 3 and a half years for 42 months a1260 days. after this the Angel says that that there will be 1290 days this is an extra 30 days to set up the disgusting thing that causes Desolation. it is a secret kept till the time of the end, but now we can work it out in the life of Jesus. working backwards Jesus was put to death for three-and-a-half days we can only count the full days so count three. we know that he spent one day travelling into the wilderness. 40 Days and night being tempted by the devil in his, great tribulation and the disgusting thing the devil. one day leaving the wilderness that is 42 days, this is the missing part of Daniel chapter 12 and the Secret. so in our day day we will spend one day going into the wilderness 40 Days and Nights being tempted one day leaving the wilderness 42 days then 3 days symbolically dead
Revelation 10 the angel with the open scroll the seal having been broken, this is the scroll that Daniel was told to roll up and seal it with wax, you will notice that he gives it to John to eat it, it is sweet honey and yet bitter in his stomach. then chapter 11 is told to prophesied or witness 1260 days the same as Daniel. In chapter 11: 7 of Revelation, says that when they have finished their witnessing the beast that came up out of the Abyss will Conquer and kill them, so this period is the days,of 42 and then the three the half days that they lay dead in the street equalling 13 35 days then Jesus takes them to Heaven to stand on Mount Zion to receive there a lot of reward
Revelation Chapter 12 we see Michael standing up the same as Daniel chapter 12 and fighting against the devil and his angels. then chapter 13 starts with someone standing on the sands of the sea. this someone is Michael. and The Sands of the sea, are the seed of Abraham remember the Promise given to Abraham I will multiply your seed as The Sands of the sea. we see that the devil and his Angels waring God's people 42 months or 1260 days( which are the first portion of numbers of the 1335-days) after this there is the image of the Beast that everybody must worship, and receive it Mark. if you don't you can't buy or sell. true Christians can't take that Mark, which today is the vaccine. the setting up of the image comes after 1 260 days, starting with the 30-day setup. then the 42 which is the great tribulation after this they're dead three-and-a-half 3 ,1/2 Days, giving us the prophecy of Daniel chapter 12 and the 133 5-days. you will notice revelation 14:1 all the faithful are standing on Mount Zion with Jesus Christ and they have his Mark, not the mark of the Beast. now remember Daniel 12:13 Daniel is promised that after the days spoken of by the Angel the 1335, Daniel would stand up for his a lot of reward, so Daniel would rest in death then when the 133 5 days started, and came to an end he would stand up for his a lot of reward. so he will be on Mount Zion with Jesus and the rest of the faithful.
The magi or three wise men described in the bible , how did the three magi men know what to look for, that is the star or, the sign in heaven. the prophet Daniel had been over all the wise men of Babylon, and he came to be known as The Man of the true God. so Daniel would have told them what sign to look for in the heavens. I have proof of this in a video if you want to understand.
Finally chapter 13 vs 18 it's about the 666, and understanding how to calculate the number of the beast and the Kings, this also calculates to Daniel's prophecy 1335 the Beast is found in revelation 13:1 seven heads 10 horns and 10 crowns representing 10 Kings. if you go to revelation 17 the 12 you will see that beast and the 10 kings war against Jesus and the faithful, but they are in Babylon the Great, if you look at the rest of the Chapter it says that the Beast and the kings hate the woman. In revelation 18:4 true Christians told to get out of Babylon the Great. in revelation 18 6 the beast and the kings are told to do double or twice so much, so 666 x 2 = 1332 then they're dead on the streets for 3 days equalling 1335. the next verse in chapter 13 is 14:1 which describes all the faithful that come to the end of the days , the 1335-days standing on Mount Zion with Jesus.

Brother, a word about Ted Wilson's comment. "Historicist" means prophecies have been fulfilled in the past, at present, and some are yet yo be fulled in the future. So you and he are in agreement as far as his quote means. Preterist is the view that prophecy all occurred in the past. Futurist is the view that it will all occur in the future. You and Ted are both Historicist. Historicist does not mean all of prophecy occurred in history. Blessings brother, and thanks for sharing this powerful video.

It is quite clear to me that the 1260 time period has a two fold application. While we cannot deny its historical application, the greatest evidence of an end-time fulfillment is found in Daniel 12. From the context of this chapter it is quite obvious that the subject under consideration is the time of trouble such as never was. In this important context verse 7 tells us that the king of the north is to scatter the powers of the holy people for time, times, and a half (1260) days. The end-time context alone prevents us from applying this period to the Dark Ages.
Steve - I couldn't have said it better. In fact, if people would look at ALL of Ellen whites comments on TIME they would see this end-time message clearly. She said that the message in Daniel would extend to the consummation.

I echo the sentiment of most people in this group that agree with you in supporting the biblical prophetic truth that Papal Rome's abomination-desolation-tribulation with its periods of duration (timelines) having returned during our times (the time of the end), as foretold in Daniel 12. These time of the end timelines for the abomination-desolation/tribulation, as you confirmed, need to be understood within the context of a literal interpretation (that is, not using the year day principle, since it ended in 1844ad). Keep your great work, and do not let anybody sway you from the truth.... after all it is our duty to teach the truth....nothing else counts!!!

Then the 7 plagues, then Jesus second coming, but I needed to re-study this, because my understanding was it all ended in 1844sh

this presentation is fascinating. One small misstep Doug made however -- when Ellen White and the pioneers confronted the brother (who had these strange ideas and believed Ellen White was Jezebel), there is a debate on whether her statement )that the 1335 days had ended) support, or denounce, that idea; because her quote can be read either way. but there is more evidence that she was saying the 1335 days HAD indeed ended...by simple reason that all of the pioneers who were arguing alongside her in that same room had previously written extensively that the 1335 days had already ended! obviously she also believed the 1335 day prophecy had ended. which opposes Doug's interpretation that she was suggesting the 1335 days had not ended. but it is one egg in a much larger basket of strong proofs he provides. it still leaves the door open for the prophecy to have a dual application later in time. which was Doug's main point.
question that comes to my mind is, are there other prophecies that have had a historical and then a second "dual" fulfillment in this same way? Hmmm. none are coming to my mind at this moment. I still think Doug suggests an awesome idea but there is going to need to be an existing pattern in Scripture.
above anything else I saw in this video, the argument that Doug concludes at the very end of this video is incredibly powerful and deserves attention. I.e., that a typology of the 1335/1290/1260 will repeat following the Sunday law. even if there is not an existing pattern of dual prophetic fulfillment in Scripture, his case is still a strong one.

Adam, while I am (obviously) a big supporter of the position that many of the prophecies will have a direct, end-time fulfillment, I agree with your take on the 1335 issue on "ended". I also agree with your comment about the context. I read an awful lot of Ellen White material, and see where many times you have to take things in context, or you can take just a snippet here and a snippet there and make her look contradictory. I also see that while at that point in time she said that, it doesn't mean that later she might (or others might) be given direct information on the matter from God.

I'm convinced beyond the shadow of a doubt that the 1260 etc. will have a future, final fulfillment. I'm not denigrating the historical position, but it's just not possible that is the final fulfillment.

You ask of some "dual" fulfillment. It seems to me that nearly all prophecies regarding the end have some kind of dual fulfillment. For example, we know for sure that Jesus' talk about the destruction of Jerusalem also foretold the final destruction at the end time.

I appreciate the insights here. A new church friend brought this up last Sabbath and directed me to this video, among others. When I think of dual timelines/prophecies, I think of Matthew 24. I think its very interesting how the historical view doesn't make any sense in light of Dan12 pointing to the last years on earth..
I have studied this prophecy for 30 years. The context is clearly the time of the end.
It is inconsistent to teach the historicist view and the futurist view both. Doug your sitting on the fence. In the historical view you have placed the 1290 years starting thirty years before the 1260 years.Where there is nothing in the text to suggest this act. In the futurist view you have the 1260, 1290, and 1335 beginning at the same time. Which is in harmony with the text. This is inconsistent. Either they both start 30 days prior to 1260 days or they both start the same time. If they start at the same time then you have to show the historical fulfillment. There is none. You can't say the taking away of the daily is the mediatorial work of Christ in the historical view. At the same time saying the taking away of the daily is the setting up of the sunday law. Jesus taught the abomination of desolation was a sign of the endtime right before his coming in Mt.24:15 not in 508AD.
He was clearly referring to this prophecy in Dan.12:11. The taking away of the daily is the removal of the true worship of God and replacing it with false worship. You can only have Daniel raised to receive his inheritance once. That is at the second coming. You can only have one death decree. one fleeing to the mountains. neither happened in 508AD. These
events are clearly future. There were no plagues from 1798 to 1843. And 1843 is one year that nothing happened. The great disappointment occured in 1844. Miller was wrong to suggest 1843 fuflilled this time prophecy. So were the early pioneers.

The SAME events that transpired just prior to the destruction (desolation) of ancient Jerusalem (historically) are going to take place again just prior to the destruction or "desolation" of the world [near future] of which old Jerusalem was a type. Thus the prophecy uttered by Jesus in Matthew 24 was TWOFOLD (dual) in its meaning...it was fulfilled anciently for Christ's disciples at that time and it WILL be fulfilled AGAIN in the near future for Christ's modern day disciples.
Read in context:
"The same deceptions practised prior to the destruction of Jerusalem will again be practised. The SAME events that took place at the overthrow of Jerusalem will take place again." {RH December 13, 1898, par. 16}

"The future was mercifully veiled from the disciples. Had they at that time fully comprehended the two awful facts-the Redeemer’s sufferings and death, and the destruction of their city and temple-they would have been overwhelmed with horror. Christ presented before them an outline of the prominent events to take place before the close of time. His words were not then fully understood; but their meaning was to be unfolded as His people should need the instruction therein given. The prophecy which He uttered was twofold in its meaning; while foreshadowing the destruction of Jerusalem, it prefigured also the terrors of the last great day." {GC 25.3}

@Hi There Your declarations are founded on incomplete research/study. They are also hampered/infused by an "historicist" mindset.
No one is taking license to say anything more or less than is presented in the Testimonies of Christ's Spirit in harmony with Scripture.
The SOP quotes regarding a final, future fulfillment of Matthew 24 [and the 'abomination of desolation' thereof (Matthew 24:15)] must be linked with those SOP statements regarding the final, future fulfillment Daniel 11:30-36 [and the "abomination that maketh desolate" thereof (Daniel 11:31)].
From Daniel 11 we move into Daniel 12:
In Daniel 12:7, Jesus "sware" that there is to be a "time, times, and an half" (31/2) time period in which certain "things" (in context) are going to be finished. These "things" include the placing of "the abomination that maketh desolate" [Dan.11:31], the close of probation [Dan.12:1] and the special resurrection [Dan. 12:2].
It is during this particular time period that "he [referencing the papacy per Daniel 11] shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people" which echoes the words of Revelation 13:4-7.
[Note: The SOP states that the entire 13th chapter of Revelation (including verse 5 and the 42 months thereof) is going to have another, final fulfillment.]
But continuing with Daniel 12:
What event is to signal the beginning of this 31/2 year time period of Daniel 12:7?
The setting up of the "abomination that maketh desolate" [Daniel 12:11]. This event directly references Matthew 24:15 and the "abomination of desolation" thereof...the one 'specific' sign/event that Jesus told his disciples to look for regarding the time for the end of the world and His coming.[see Matthew 24:3]
I can prove that this "abomination of desolation" is referring to the universal Sunday law...and that same is to take place very soon
All the above is based on Scripture and statements from the SOP, and these specific statements can be provided upon request. I didn't include them here because I find that people at odds with a certain 'understanding' tend to ignore them and/or abandon their English reading and comprehension skills in favour of the particular 'mindset' they are ensconced in.
Do not respond unless you can provide Holy Spirit-inspired proof that the above understanding is erroneous.

Just outright declaring a person to be a "liar" without proof shows quite a bit about the person making such a declaration.

“That the 1335 was ended” sounds like it could be taken to mean that was one of his errors, OR that they told him the 1335 was ended.

Just today I read in 1902 Manuscripts 153 where Ellen White mentions that Satan's appearing will be in the future, and then she quotes most of Revelation 13, which includes the 42 months. That is quite strong evidence that she considered the 42 month prophecy to have a final, future fulfillment.

The historic veiw on Daniel 12 is utter non sense, Ellen White's letters proved that. Nothing happened in 1843. We can't be afraid to rebuke such falsehoods of our denomination. There can be no stradding the interpretational fence. Ellen White said Daniel 12 was a warning for the last day church(Manscript Releases 15, 228.2). The Clovis theroy makes Daniel 12 obselete. You should go back and read all of E.G. White comments concerning time and also her bold statements concerning Daniel 12. There are several comments that suggest that Daniel 12 is tied to the very end of time. "The prophetic periods of Daniel, extending to the very eve of the great consummation, [end of the world] throw a flood of light upon events then to transpire." She also said that Daniel 12 was tied to the third angels message. Manuscript Releases, vol. 19 p. 320, 1887 - peace and blessings.

I cannot answer as to the voice change, but I think that is irrelevant to your question. This is not about date setting, which would be stating a certain day/date for an event to occur. It is about knowing the amount of time we will have to endure the crisis/trial. Our pioneers preached that the prophecies of Daniel 12 ended in 1844, BUT, and don't miss this: That was based on 1844 being the year that Jesus returned. Well, we all know He did not return that year. And furthermore, the 1335 days of Daniel 12 could not have taken place then, because it would have ended in 1843, not 1844, and we all know that 1843 was a "mistake" year, therefore, nothing prophetic happened that year. Do the math, do the research, look closely at the 1843 and 1850 charts, and you will see that the prophecies of Daniel 12 were mistakenly applied to that time. Those prophecies did not appear on the 1850 charts and for very good reason: because they have not happened yet. Dig deep and find the truth on this. It matters. The wish shall understand.

So regarding the testimony from 6MR 251 which reads:
"We TOLD him [Hewit] of some of his errors in the past, that the 1335 days were ended and numerous errors of his."
I understand from this that Brother Hewit believed that the fulfillment of the 1335 days had NOT happened yet...that it was still future.
This was his error...and he was TOLD [revealed] his error that : "..the 1335 days were ended"
His error was in rejecting that the 1335 days had ended, and in believing that it's fulfillment was still in the future.
My understanding of that is that the 1335 days were ended was his error.
It is abundantly clear, as this video shows, that Ellen White wrote that the 1260 and 1290 are in the future. It just makes sense that the 1335 is also in the future.

If you were to research under ""Brother Hewit", I believe you will find that he himself believed in a future application of the 1335 days...but ONLY a future application of this time period.
Thus his error was in NOT believing the historical, day-for-a-year fulfillment of the 1335 days...and that is why he was told that "the 1335 days were ended" [historically fulfilled]
In any case, if differences in understanding exist as to what this testimony is actually saying, I don't think it wise to use this testimony to support another, future fulfillment of the 1335 days.
Crystal clear evidence exists in MANY other Testimonies regarding another future, FINAL fulfillment of these time periods [1260,1290 & 1335 days]...only in LITERAL time....that CANNOT be misunderstood by anyone with sufficient reading and English comprehension skills tempered with the spirit of a learner.

I know the SDA Church teaches that the 70 weeks were cut off in 34AD, but I have several reasons I don't believe that either. I believe the Jews were cut off as a nation when they put Jesus on the cross. There is much evidence for that position. He was cut off in the middle of the week. Then there is a looong time before the last half of the week is fulfilled, right at the end of time. I understand that many teachers/preachers denounce my position as "gap theory", but it is the only way I can make sense of what the Bible and Ellen White's writings actually say.

Agreed that we need to study and keep ourselves pure from the world. I have 3 main reasons to believe that Stephen's stoning was not the end of the favored status of the Jewish nation.
1: Nothing at all is mentioned regarding such a significant event in the Bible. Jesus' death is obviously super important, and much of the Bible revolves around that event, but Stephen's death is just a short thing, and nothing is mentioned at all about anyone at the time understanding that the 70 week prophecy had just been fulfilled
2. The stoning would have had to have taken place on a Day of Atonement. It is about 100% unlikely that the Pharisees (and Paul who was a devout Pharisee) would do any work on that to stone somebody.
3. There are several places in the Bible that talk about a time of waiting for the vision to fulfill. I believe that is talking about the time from 31AD to some great, future event that everyone will recognize as the start of the final, 1260 day countdown. Most likely, it will be the fireballs from God that destroy cities.

If we want solid evidence that the 1260 days...the 42 months...the 3 1/2 years highlighted in both the books of Daniel and the Revelation that had historical fulfillment and application is to have another final fulfillment and application in the near future, then read this... we don't need to guess:

Basically, I believe that the time prophecies have a historical fulfillment, and a literal, end-time fulfillment. What will be the trigger to start the final, 3 1/2 year period? Perhaps it will be a Sunday Law. In reading Revelation about the 7 trumpets, it is clear that several of them have never had even a historical fulfillment, so we look for a final, end-time fulfillment.

The taking away of the "daily", better translated the "regular" or continual" is the taking away of God's Sabbath, which will be accomplished by the enforcement of the Sunday law. This act will simultaneously begin the 1260, 1290, and 1335 day time periods... Doug was right about this in 2004 but appears to have recanted under the pressure of Ted Wilson's warning to church employees and leaders in 2015. Doug retreated back to the traditions of the church fathers in 2020, which is clearly contrary to what Daniel 12 is talking about. How sad! The traditions of the church fathers win again. How's that for religious liberty?

If however the 7th day Adventists are to open their hearts to understanding, they must abandon some of their teachings.
The 1844 interpretation of Dan 8 and the 2300 days is wrong. Below is my critic and kindly judge for yourselves:
On the 2300 days, I find no scriptural basis to hold that the count down started to run in 457 BC, invoking Dan 9:25 in determining starting date is an error.
THIS IS HOW
Dan 8 prophecy has a clear order of events.
1. Alexander the great rises in Greece (goat with a single prominent horn) and attacked the Kings of Medo- Persia (ram with two horns) and defeated the ram.
Subsequently, the prophecy unfolds with the fall of the 2nd world empire to the 3rd world empire.
The time line is 331BC
2. The second event is the prominent horn will break, that"s death of Alexander the great
3. Then four horns will grow in place of the broken horns. This is the kingdom of Greece divided into 4 kingdoms under his 4 generals.
The time line is 301 BC
4. A little horn will grow from one of the 4 horns. That's a fierce king will arise from one of the four kingdoms and will grow powerful.
5. This little horn King will take away the daily (evening and morning) for 2300 days.
This is the chronological order of Daniel 8.
Another factor is that Daniel 8 is covering the prophetic events under the 3 rd world empire Greece.
THERE IS THE TRAP OF INVOKING DAN 9 IN IDENTIFYING THE START DATE OF THE 2300 DAYS
The decree to rebuild Jerusalem is given, I'm not dogmatic about which date for at least 5 have been proposed.
For this purpose I will take the date the SDAs propose 457 BC
Let's examine this date?
This year clearly falls within the reign of the 2nd beast/empire Medo-Persia.
Clearly noting in Daniel 8 could have been fulfilled at that date.
Alexander the great was not even born by that time.
The kingdom of Greece had not even arose to become the 3rd empire.
Medo-persia had not yet been defeated by Greece.
The Kingdom of Greece had not yet divided into 4 kingdoms.
So the question that one could not overcome is to tell us where the little horn which is said to have stooped the daily in 457 BC come from? It can't be Daniel 8 because nothing had been fulfilled by that day.
What then is the conclusion
457 BC being the start of the 2300 days when the little horn took away the daily is another wrong date.
This prophetic event could only start after 301 BC when Greece was divided into 4 kingdoms.
It must start during the reign of the 3rd kingdom and not the second as already proved 457 BC is a time line under the second beast not the third.
As a result the resulted 1844 AD date marking the end of the 2300 days can't be correct.
I don't clean the hands of the catholic faith. The Roman catholic church is the first and biggest man made denomination. And all other denomination followed her error of starting their own denominations.
That as it may, to say the start of the 2300 days is 457 BC can't be correct that is + 156 years before Greece was divided into 4 kingdoms. It is only after that period does the little horn of Daniel 8 should come on the scene and stop the daily for 2300 days.
Its an avoidable conclusion if we assume that the 1day:1 year principle applies that the date 1844 will be at least 156 years short of the point when the the 2300 days will end.
That as it may, the 1 day to a year principle may may not be applicable.
The word translated morning and evening is the same used in Genesis when God created the universe and it meant a single day 24 hrs.
My point is that where scripture applies the a day to a year principle we are clearly told that. But in Dan 8 let's agree that its our own decision to impose it not scripture.
Its not always that a day in prophecy is a year.
1. It can be a 1000 years
2. It can be a year
3. It can be a 24 hr day. Example, that Christ will die and be raised after 3 days was prophetic but it meant 3 literal days not 3000 years or $ years. Another example is Rev 12:6 has 1260 days and in verse 14 the same period is referred to as 3.5 years
Surely, you can convert 1260 days yo years, but you can't convert 3.5 years to 1260 years.
The days have already been converted to years. Thus the a day to a year principle would not apply.
Dan 8 and 9 are prophecies talking about different things not necessary the same prophecy or time line.
Clearly Dan 9 starts with the giving of the decree to rebuild Jerusalem 457BC, while Daniel 8 would take place after Dan 9 has already kick started in 331 BC.
The very same will tell us that the papacy cone into being in the forth century AD.
By 457 BC both the little horn or the papacy was not even there. The little horn was to come some +156 years later and the papacy + 800 years later.
That why I don't just believe what these scholars simply write most of their stuff is just scholarly not inspired by the Holy Spirit.
Its my conclusion that nothing took place in AD 1844 its just a date coming out of some bad arithmetic, the date where the count started is just wrong.

A decree went forth to slay the saints, which caused them to cry day and night for deliverance. This was the time of Jacob's trouble.50Early Writings, 36, 37. Mar 268.3 - The death decree as you can note here is issued because of the plagues. So it does not come before the Seven Last Plagues rather it is a result of them. There are too many holes in this presentation to make it at all viable.
Other writings of Ellen White are clear that the death decree is given, then at the very time it is to be enacted, God's voice delivers the saints, and then the 7 Last Plagues occur.

Daniel mentions TWO instances where the daily sacrifice is taken away. First by Antiochus Epiphanies for a period of 1150 days (2300 evening and morning sacrifices) and second by Christ - who takes it away FOREVER. Thus this 1290 days/years MUST begin at one of these points, or else it disagrees with what the text says.

I hope everyone that has posted how this is a correct message realize that they are aligning themselves AGAINST God's Word, as Pastor Doug Batchelor is doing here. We are told SPECIFICALLY that there are NO MORE time prophecies, prophetic or literal and that this IS time-setting (date-setting, or whatever you want to call it, it is the same). While prophecies CAN have a dual application, how come nobody talks about a dual fulfillment of the 2,300 day-year prophecy? Because there is NONE. Thank you for your zeal, William, but you are not interpreting the words of God correctly. No one here, and certainly not Doug Batchelor, are predicting any date for anything to happen in the future. There is no "definite time" anywhere in this video. We are just taking the words of God as they are written, and in the power of the Holy Spirit, showing people that there are many things still not completely fulfilled in Revelation and Daniel, and that the 3 1/2 years of time is one of those things.

The fact that Daniel's 1260 days, 1290 days, and 1335 days have never been completed yet, shows conclusively that they are in the future, as every word of God will be fulfilled to the letter.
If you read carefully, you will find the 2300 evening-morning prophecy is based on the Day of Atonement being once a year for 2300 years. That was completely fulfilled on October 22, 1844.
Please humble yourself, and ask for the Holy Spirit to lead you into all truth.

Taking away of the daily's sacrifice is the rapture and that starts the 1290 days from Rosh Hashanah 2024 until Good Friday/passover 2028 that brings you to the abomination of desolation.
Then add 1,335 days and you get to the 1st day of Hanukkah 2031. Blessed is he who comes to the dedication of the millennial temple. Also, the first 1,260 days starts 30 days after the rapture and brings you to the abomination of desolation and midpoint of the tribulation. Add 1,260 days and you come to yom kippur 2031 aka 2nd coming of Christ.

The abomination of desolation was in 691 AD when the Dome of the rock was built in the Holy place. Add 1335 years to that and we get 2026 as the year of the rapture (sept 11 2026). Those who come to that year and are waiting for Jesus will be blessed, as they will be raptured and won't experience death. Jesus ministry began in 26-27 AD. He announced the acceptable year of the Lord from Isaiah (when prisoners would be set free), that was a jubilee year. The 2nd coming must also be a jubilee year since that's the ultimate fulfillment of jubilee. Adding sets of 49 years to the start of Jesus ministry brings us to the next jubilee year in 2036. 2036 should be the year of the 2nd coming. We know there will be 10 years between the rapture and the 2nd coming from the "10 days of awe" as the Jews call them, between the feast of trumpets and the day of atonement. So, further proof the rapture should be in 2026 and 2nd coming in 2036.

Daniel makes no mention of SOP.

It is my belief that when we take the time prophecies and apply them literally, we make no distinction between Adventist theology and the theology of other protestant denominations who also using the Futurist interpretation apply the literal understanding of days in prophecy. This puts us on dangerous ground and blurs the line of distinction between Adventist and other mainstream Protestant churches.

Ah yes, "the 2300 day prophecy that ends in 1844". This "2300 days" is a MISTRANSLATION in the King James version of the Bible. The sanctuary was cleansed after 1150 days, after 2300 evening and morning sacrifices were taken away. This guy hasn't got a clue!

The 2300 evenings mornings ended exactly on October 22, 1844.
2,300 evenings and mornings is sanctuary language for days. Both evening and morning offerings, or tamid, were administered by the priests each day on behalf of the children of Israel. And we see in Genesis 1, "there was evening and there was morning" to measure each day.
Both numbers 23 and 46 represent an appointed priesthood (Numbers 26:62, 1 Cor. 10:8), building of the temple (John 2:20), followed by the cleansing of the sanctuary, or bodily temple (23 pairs of chromosomes, or total of 46 chromosomes), and arriving at a period of atonement.
Also, if you multiply 46 by 50 years (end of Jubilee cycle) it equals 2,300 years. Regarding the significance of the number I believe it is more than a period of time in history, it's a cycle.
It's the same with Daniel 12 as it points to the tamid, the continual favor, or daily bread, God places on His children who commit to Him in love and reverence of obedience. I looked up the year 688AD and crossed it over to the Jewish year 4448, add 1260 years= 1948 or 5708 the Jewish year. The same year Israel was delcared a Nation again. This lines up with revelation 12:6 Where Israel goes into the wilderness for 1260 days.
We know Persian King Cyrus gave the decree Isaiah 44: 28 That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.
That year was decreed somewhere around 538BC

If the 70 years of captivity was over 538BC Then 70 years earlier the Jews were taken into captivity which puts the timeline around 608BC plus or minus 5 years? Some scholars believe Daniel was taken into captivity 605BC Most of the wealthy and upper class were taken.

The fruits of this interpretation are already beginning to fall with the video and presentations of Pastor David Gates in his "Even at the Door" presentations and several others that have now come. This is the results; many, I say many have thrown off the yoke of the church and follow David Gates in his interpretation of applying literal days into the future beginning at September 2015 that reach for 7 years (1260 days) reaching to 2022. And by then, the Sunday law would be established, probation for Adventist will close and the great time of trouble and persecution will ensue. This is the danger which Ellen White expressly foretold would happen by mingling truth with error. The great fanaticism she foretold is taking place based on these time setting prophetic interpretations. The assault on the church organization and its leadership by Pastor Gates is ripe with hatred and recriminations which again were foretold by Ellen White. All these things are the result of those who seek to find some 'new light' in the prophetic time periods of which Ellen White expressly said were none after 1844 so many times. How many now are leaving the church to join with Gates, taking their tithes and offerings to put to his use and purposes while the church of God suffers the lack there of. How many souls will be excited to a point of doing rashly which God has never purposed. How many, after these times shall pass will retain a rightful relationship with God and His message for these last days. The damage of seeking to find that which is not written in scripture or in the spirit of prophecy, and misinterpreted, mingled with truth, are precisely what Satan would have us do. It suits his purposes all to well to cause infidelity to the church, chaos and confusion in the written word and loss of confidence in the spirit of prophecy. How terrible has this false teaching begun a most horrifying result among God's children. Only time will tell, but it is spreading like a fire and being blown by the winds of Satan to make its most devastating effect upon the church.

This was very much an issue back just after 1888 when Futuristic interpretation was taking hold in the teaching institutions of the Adventist faith, and there were those who singled it out and shown a light on exactly what it was doing to the Advent teachings. Learned men of God who stood up to this spurious teaching like Robert Weiland, and set the ship aright again, were well studied in the word of God and countered this false and alluring theology. Now your answer is simply to 'go study your bible'. I have studied, I have studied the men who faced these same challenges in the past within the church. I am 65 years old and have seen many false theories brought into the church only to be cast out by those who made it their duty to confront spurious doctrines. Show me where in the SOP or the Scriptures that Futurism should be accepted in the later days of the church?
