The Avs won with Makar as their #1 Dman. He's barely 6 feet tall.
Enough said
He has a Boston Bruins Hat on that says enough without him speaking
Isn't Brad Marchand smaller than Quinn? lol
The best way to shut down negative comment is to win the series against Nashville.
Canucks have 4 big horses, and Quinn is the best in the league. That dude just wants people to hate him for clicks and attention, he doesn't care how stupid he sounds. 🤷♀
Remember Detroit picked Zadina over Hughes. 🤦🏻
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Actually, Holland was a firm anti-believer is smaller dman so we basically picked Zadina over Bouchard and Dobson(Bouchard was rumored to be his pick and Dobson his backup pick).
Does he realize Makar is only 1 inch taller?
Makar is a generational defensemen and that's the difference.
@@yourhighness4-20Hughes-same
@@yourhighness4-20Hughes is a generational talent he’s been top ten in defensive scoring for years now. Plus his plus minus is always great even when Vancouver was bunk af. Quinn Hughes hasn’t even hit his ceiling yet and he’s out scored Makar for the second year.
@@Hiddensquid49 Don't get me wrong, Hughes is elite but not generational. The 17 goal season might be a flash in the pan season because every other one of his 4-5 season he hasn't cracked the 10 goal mark and there is nothing generational about that.
@@yourhighness4-20 Hughes is just starting to show us his talent in a new level, he will absolutely be a Hall of Famer and be a 90-110 point defender for many seasons. He’s absolutely generational for Vancouver he’s the best defence man we’ve ever had.
Matt murley has 9 points and is -14 in his NHL career that, shocker…wasn’t a long one.
I’d take this with a grain of salt.
Sorry I don’t remember how tall is Myers? How tall is Zadorov? How tall is Soucy? How tall is Juulsen?
Hughes is a very good offensive defenseman. But his size will be an issue at times. The problem is when you have a big forward core these small dman get exposed in there own end. We have seen it over and over and over again. Doesn’t mean they can’t win a cup but it does create problems defensively in your zone.
Ummm.... in the last 20+ years, most Norris winners were roughly close in height and/or weight as Quinn Hughes (5'10 180lbs). Scott Niedermayer and Giordano were only 6'0 200lbs, Lidstrom being taller 6'2 but just slightly heavier at 190lbs, Duncan Keith at 6'1 190lbs, Karlsson at 6'0 190lbs, Roman Josi is only 6'1 200lbs, Cale Makar is only 6'0 185lbs, and Adam Fox at 5'11 185lbs. QH is a better skater than almost all of them, save for maybe Niedermayer and Keith.
The only real exceptions in size are Chara, Pronger, Hedman, and Burns. Doughty and Subban weren't that tall, but they were both pretty stocky at 6'1 210lbs.
People just don’t wanna give this guy the credit he deserves. Anyone who says otherwise has NEVER played defence let alone hockey and have nothing of value to say.
There are things in life that bigger people are better suited for. And for me there is no shame in admiting that because that's reality. But every matter and situation is different. Quinn Huges stats and production tell a tale that is opposite to the bigger is better narritive, all while taking the teams hardest hits all night long. There comes a point where you need to shut your mouth and give this man his props.
0:46 who??
Quinn is great but he ain't no cale makar 😁
Whats the average height of Vancouvers defensemen????
What makes up the rest of the nucks defensemen??
Clearly Matt Murley is an NHL Hall of Famer with a Stanley Cup playoff pedigree who knows what it takes to win. Clearly he's not a delusional moron. Clearly I am being sarcastic.
yeah, i'm really going to listen to some guy who was in the nhl for 5 minutes. i'm sure he dominated in korea.
Guys a joke, needs the attention.
4:30 PST
Bonehead Kenny Holland famously once said he does not believe a small dman can be successful it in the NHL. He said this right before the Quinn draft basically taking the Wings out of contention for Hughes. It was well know he was going to pick Bouchard or Dobson..and if Zadina doesn't fall to 5(damn you Zadina for that lol) we have have had a stud dman in Bouchard(I believe he was Hollands 1a to Dobsons 1b).
Low iq take lol does he watch games??? Take a shot at Peteys consistency sure, demmers health sure, but Quinn has been the furthest thing from a problem or holding the team back
Karlsson won it plus minus was terrible
Makar is wayyyyy better than Quinnie the Whiny
Legosucks
Never heard of this dude lol he was in the nhl??? Obviously nothing special 😂😂 sit down dude
