I'm pretty hyped for this update. Especially the idea of a small grid jump drive. Looking forward to jumping into a fresh survival playthrough, but also excited at the new possibilities of builds in creative.
Nicely done! You summarized it very well. I am also looking forward to this one. Even though the focus of the trailers seems to be on the scenario, I do hope we will see something like the modular encounters mod with Factorum ships and/or structures. The connector is also pretty exciting, though I am worried about the conveyor port locations based on the screenshot. I was hoping for a T or all around access like the full block air vent. Looking forward to the turret too, hopefully we also get a small grid variant.
Thank you. 😊 I think most official trailers on their channel are focused on the Prototech and Factorum faction - Which I assume will be similar as having pirates or neutral traders in the system. The teasers during Xocliw's Streams however seem to lean very much to a new scenario.
new scenario more than likely will be on alien planet because of indications before mentionned and one thing pretty much no one caught on when the factorum said ( you forgot about us in the void ) stopping and thinking about it for a second youll realise that the alien planet has pretty much been forgotten about since there was nothing added to that planet since it popped into existence :-)
Ofcourse, The Prototech Frame will be very quickly modded into the Assemblers. And then those players are going to complain there is no end-game in space engineers... 😂
To be honest, I feel quite threatened by Factorum. I've been playing my first successful survival world for years now... Not too keen on any "new neighbors"... But it's exciting as well. I've had my peace and quiet, now I'm thinking about advanced defense systems! 😄
I assume they will be dormant until you start poking holes in their bases. That way beginner players don't get blasted with High End weaponry... lol But, I hope for more advanced players - we do have a slider to push their aggressiveness..
There are a few scenarios you can play - which introduce you to the game. Still, when I played the "First Jump" which is recommended for beginners, I got frustrated and almost gave up on the game. I would advice you - IF you are interested in trying it out to check my beginners series to see the starting steps. I know that the game is now available for free on Xbox Gamepass and PS+ - so if you got that, you can try it before purchasing.
There are scenarios, not a true campaign mode. One is like a tutorial and the others are self-contained little stories, basically. But the main mode is sandbox.
You mean on the table in front of the Assembler? It looks like all these things are craftable components - I assume the round item is the "Prototech Machinery" component (the one you see in the Prototech Refinery build list - 1:19)
3:55 As vanilla YES.. but the modding community have had a small grid jump drive out for SOME TIME. It works just fine and is not game breaking in that it functions as you would expect a small version to operate.
Yes, But I am a firm believer of improvements everyone in the community can enjoy... 😊 I do like the fact these are "seemingly" end-game blocks - so it at least gives some goal to work towards to.

Yeah.. Its nice to see it being added! The inset connector feels like something the "is about time" 😂

Yeah, I hope the connector is airtight, too. It looks a bit like an armored conveyor. Maybe there will be multiple versions?!
Thanks for the recap. Cannot wait for this update, have been waiting for good PVE content for quite some time now!

I just know that when this update comes out, the first mod that the community will make will be one that makes the prototech panel craftable.

Nice video Beeble!

😄
That is assuming that this update retroactively affects old saves, which isn't guaranteed.
Very nice destillation, thanks! Although there is not a single mention of my biggest hype... super super heavy armour
Many thanks for your keen eyes and sharing your thoughts. It's nice and motivating.
A few things I did spot myself, although I did miss some, great to have a community letting me know what I missed. 😊
Can't wait for the update, it's looking good
Great video Beeblebum!
I think someone talented should make a pool table ship that shoots billiard balls.
I hope we also get a building remake at some point after we can put small blocks on top of large ones
Can’t you achieve this by allowing supergridding in the game settings?
@@brentosaurusw.w3200 but its IS a Bug and you need to place the Blocks per blueprints
I hope that the factorum will launch attacks too, and not just sit there like idle targets you gotta find.
I assume they will be dormant until you start poking holes in their bases.

@@Beeblebum agreed 100 percent.
All i wanted for years was a new sky box. number one comment on steam workshop is new skybox.
But there are mods for this that are super easy to apply.
and a new solarpanel on the smalgrid ship with jumpdrive. on the roof of it.
6:40 - That panel is just the glitter texture on a heavy armor panel. Nothing new there.
Yes I know, but that panel is used at every Factorum Installation we seen so far in the teasers.
Is there a “campaign like mode” in space engineers or is it all sandbox

5:25 Is that a small grid prototech reactor (top right) ?

You could also just connect a large grid drive if needed. Clunky though. 😅
