Was watching this for help putting a serpentine belt on my 407 sw, took me a minute or two to figure out the tensioner has to be slackened off anti clockwise on a 407, but thank you, this video still helped
Nice video thanks! Helped me replace the aux belt on my 407 SW after the nylon tensioner pulley melted and the belt fell off!!! I had to buy a whole new tensioner from Peugeot for £115.43 inc VAT, as I couldn't find just the pulley wheel anywhere!
Magician. Everything looks much easier when you are doing it. :) My mechanic (man) changed it 2 months ago on mine, by the way. One day i can learn doing my self.
Can I ask why the tape/arrow was important? I want to change the belt on my Peugeot 407 as the belt slipped off and I found it under the car. I don’t know for sure if the new belt I got will be on backwards/forwards? Great video by the way, so clear and well explained.
Isn't there a locking pin hole on the tensioner so when you release the tension you can put in a pin/drill to hold it in the opened position until you refit the belt? It may not be strictly necessary but I would have thought it better to not release the tension all the way as when you take the belt off and release torque on the nut. I may be splitting hairs but I did wonder if it helped?
Fantastic! Very well filmed and explained. What about with a start+stop? There is a 4th pulley so I assume the only difference would be getting the belt around that 4th pulley right? No other traps?
Hi Asfkoxb, I have that on the list but had no time yet. I will need the workshop for some longer hours to do that. Hopefully soon, but I cannot promise that 100% yet. Thank you for feedback, I really appreciate it! Cheers
Can you please show haw to adjust the tensioner as well. As I changed the belt but now the position is not right on the tensioner. Many thanks and kindly appreciate if you can help.
:D good idea but also veeeeeeery looooong ;) Seriously this is a great idea for the video. I will though need to get some free Saturday in the garage to make such video. I will write it in the video list. Cheers V3nu1
I have the same car 2006 but unfortunately i don't know how long is the Belt .. there is 730,1025,1125,1145mm , so i wonder if you can help me with this .
My belt is squicky. Reason of that could be oil which is sprayed from intercooler. My engine is 1.6 hdi. I also think to change this belt but right after replacement of intercooler which has small hole wih oil leak.
Hi TLYD, This might be caused by the wet auxiliary belt of course, nonetheless I would also check the tensioner. When the tensioner is worn out or the tension is incorrectly adjusted (too week) the belt might also squeak. Good luck! Cheers
The 307 I have just worked on is a different design tensioner ? it is on a slotted bracket held tight with studs needing 13mm socket, top and bottom of the tensioner pulley and a 10mm tensioning screw at the bottom of the bracket :)
is that timing belt or poly v-belt ? im confuse 😅 because mine keep sqeuaky when i start to drive and then it quiet . and in the morning the noise come again , i have look there no movement and the belt is tight . the noise come sometimes when im drive . do you have any idea ?
On my 307 the tensioner has a hex 8 socket & when I turn it it's not moving. Is it deferent for a diesel? Not sure if I have to loosen the alternator instead? 1.6hdi 2006
Same problem. Tensioner's bolt open, but tensioner have no any movement. It is solid, working bearing. I can't find even from generator any adjustment for tightning of the belt... interesting, how I will get belt on wheels 🤔
5 Years Later - this video is still helping lives. Legend
Brilliant, thanks for this, done, saved money by not letting some garage charge me to do it
Thank you, it took about two minutes to change. You brought smile to my face, it was so simple. 👍

Hey! Great videos!
When you are going to make video about changing clutch disc?
Hi Asfkoxb,
I have that on the list but had no time yet. I will need the workshop for some longer hours to do that. Hopefully soon, but I cannot promise that 100% yet.
Thank you for feedback, I really appreciate it!

What is the size or number of the belt
Hi, is this the same on 307 2.0 petrol serpentine belt? thanks
Great video, What is the Serpentine Belt Number for a Peugot 307 rapier 1.6 L (1587 cc) Year 2002 or 2004 model?
Can you please show haw to adjust the tensioner as well.
As I changed the belt but now the position is not right on the tensioner.

Can you please help me with timing marks for it
Здравствуйте знает ли кто какой ремень можно поставить в обход кондиционера
Is it difficult to remove and replace the alternator?

To fix a squealing new belt rub the edges with soap and if it still squeals spray with water, that fixed mine ?
Witam czy wymieniales moze alternator w tym modelu?
Hi did you change the alternator in this model before?
My tensioner is vibrating quite a lot.
Any idea?
Can you lock the tensioner with a pin when you release it ?
My thoughts too. Just asked the same question.
