Sounds fantastic! I love mine, so much more practical than spending the downright stupid amounts people are asking for the amp. I had a 140 for a while and in a blind test, I would not be able to tell them apart.
Prime tones prime time tones time
i own a VH140c that needs to be repaired, keeps cutting off, and for me the sweet spot is high and low dimed, mids about 3 or 4, and of course gain maxed, and its a fuckin demon.
I hear the output transformers are hard to come by. I ran this pre through the power section of one, and it sounded identical to me. The 5150 power section changes the sound more than I expected. SNK is making a 300 watt version now. I'd love to get my hands on one. Good luck with your amp!
@@jed_shred_guitars Yea the VH300, I desperately want one, right now Im using an Ibanez TBX150 head, and it sounds good, I also have a massive rack unit with a Crate XLP in it. I am hoping the amp is easily fixable being an american made solid state. I imagine the 5150 made it very mid heavy, or more modern. I prefer solid state myself, used to use tube all the time.
Cool video , what string gauge did you use for drop b on your les Paul please ?
13-62 dadarrio. They work great.
Can I run this into my fx return while using 4 cable method for a noise gate?
For instance guitar into tuner, tuner into ns2, ns2 into OD into the front of amp, and ns2 into time based effects, EQ, and the SNK into the fx return?
Not sure if that made any sense.
Totally makes sense. I don’t think so because if the fx return on the amp needs to be unplugged to bypass the amps preamp. I’ve abandoned the 3/4 cable method and haven’t had any issues. This kma pylon is a rad gate though.
@@jed_shred_guitars so how would the signal chain be?
Guitar into SNK and then SNK into fx return?
and then all other pedals into front of the amp?
Pedals into snk, snk into fx return. Nothing plugged into fx send or front of amp
@@jed_shred_guitars thanks man
