Hi from another Jersey habitant here! I've just purchased a 2022 street twin 900 with I intend to custom a fair bit. your bike sounds absolutely amazing !! good video mate
Thanks fellow islander 😁. Was out on it yesterday …. Yup through the Valley it was sounding lovely . Stay tuned as I will be fitting a Chigee AIO -5 Lite unit to it , hopefully not ruining its classic looks 😂 they are sending me one to review. At some point I intend to put some Nitron rear shocks on too but still trying to get the courage up to ask the boss(wife) if I can spend that kind of money on the bike ! 😂
That original 2019 Speed Twin is the best. That silver tank color. Classic front shocks. E4 exhaust. Easy-to-do tail tidy. And lightweight. The ONLY miss in the design is it should have come standard with those all-brushed exhaust cans. Good stuff, mate.
I own the bike and agree, but it also needs Arton Works dials, and in the US at least, the indicators swapped for something like Motogadget’s blaze discs and/or tens, plus fresh grips, and under bar mirrors. I absolutely love mine…
Lovely ride, and kudos going it alone! The silver tank Speed Twin is the best looking for sure, and has been my screen background since it came out. Looking forward to getting mine to customise...
I have a 2023 and like yours it does put off some heat. Not unbearable but noticeable. I do have brake squeal from the rear brake. Hopefully it subsides but if not I will just deal with it until time to replace pads and try a different compound. Nice video. Enjoy the bike.
You made a wise decision not getting the R nine t. I was out on one again yesterday whilst the GS was being serviced and although it's a great bike you need something different and the Triumph 1200 engine is just a joy. I went for the Thruxton RS but still hanker after a Speed twin which fits me better. Happy riding👍
Nice vídeo. I’m enjoying a lot my new Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE! I’m on the road riding but the taller position of the bike is making my days brighter than ever. The bike performs flawlessly on every terrain and any type or shape of road it rocks. These Bonneville bikes are simply awesome! Rock on !🤘
New subscriber here :) Really enjoy your video, I own a Kawasaki Z900RS Cafe. And though I love my bike, I am seriously considering buying a Triumph Speed Twin ;).
I never even started my '22 with the cat or baffles in the mufflers. Bought the British Customs Compitition X-pipe with the bike new. Sorced some n.o.s. chrome intermediate pipes off an earlier model from Ebay. I've never even had the fan come on once, accept for the last few seconds after coming off the highway and coming up the drive to the house. Never while I'm "out" riding it. I run Bel-ray 10W50 fully synthetic BigTwin oil. It's specially designed for air cooled Harley Davidson Big Twins that see 300+ degree temps during normal operation. The additive package used in this oil is the absolute best available. It's claimed to lower operating temps in the HD engines 30 degrees. I hammer my bike. Never redline it. Let's just say, I let her eat. I highly recommend getting the restrictions out of the exhaust and intake tract. Going up a tooth on the front sprocket. Ducati Spacers and an ECU flash.
i got it from december of 2022. and it is only pleasure to ride it. i have the brakes problem. my dealer taked a look and cleaned the rotors, but it's still present. i'm happy to see that you solve the problem with EBC pads. i will certainly change them for the next service. i changed my tyres at 6500 kms (about 4000 miles). i met a metzeler dealer at a moto festival, and he tells me to put M9 instead of genuine tyres (racetec RR K3), i will see later if it is a good choice. i don't get Vance & Hines muflers, but i like the sound i got. (we will have noise radars soon 😡). my cons: i feel the bike a little heavy and not easy to manoeuver at stop. the handle bar doesn't turn enough, but it's only my feelings. So i'm very happy with "Mandarine" (that's her name because she's .....orange) you can see her adventures on my channel. thank you for your video and you're welcome in Burgundy if you come back to France.
Hello from Australia...Your review is spot on, I've got a 23' ST1200. In terms of the seat, have a look at Crafton Atelier, I can do all day on the bike and my bum is just fine. If you want to take 10-15% of that heat away, forget the x-pipe and look at verex headers ( from Tasmania) then you don't take the hot gasses under the bike take them straight to the rear of the bike. Oh... I've put YSS piggyback shocks on the rear and nitron cartridges on the front and it's night and day.... totally worth the upgrade. Love the channel too btw
Cracking video i have 19 in korisi red absolutely love it sound and toque are addictive just lovely to ride good quality bike 👍ps it does chuck out a lot of heat maybe because the rad is so small
if your looking for a pannier option on the cheap, I had some TEC pannier bars for my street twin which do fit the speed twin no problem although TEC don't list them for it for some reason.
It sounds great on the overtakes. Is that the standard exhaust on it? I think the only music we needed was that exhaust note. I'm seriously thinking of buying one.
Great ride along video. You have one more subscriber. I'd much prefer listening to the engine and your comments over the "video game" background music. Cheers.
Here in Spain the temp has come down a little 30 c today we have some excellent roads here in mountains all to myself 😂😂 love the sound of your new ride . I think i need to try this bike 👍👍 love my gs tho 😂
Hi Sir , excuses me, I have got a Duke 890R and I’m thinking to change it for the 2025 speed twin 1200 rs. Listening you did the same thing, I would like to know if you regret it in terms of agility into corners, power, acceleration, nimbleness, ecc. Thank you in advance
Hi, the 2025 Triumph will have better front suspension than my Triumph. The KTM 8980R is a better bike BUT I was worried about reliability of the 890 and I was riding it too fast!! To be honest my BMW is my go to bike now and the Triumph doesn't come out much.
@ Thank you so much. I’m worried about reliability too. And I found myself doing dangerous things into twisties, but I’m afraid to trade eyes for tail… if the triumph is way slower and way more awkward in cornering.
@@solino2002andrea Definitely not like the Ktm in corners.....I would suggest take one out for a test ride. If I were doing a swap I would have a look at the MT09 also.
Has anyone experienced any engine knocking / tapping on their bonneville engines after the first oil change ? My 1200 scrambler engine started knocking after a dealer service and it now knocks for a minute or two after start up. Not as much when the engine is hot, but still hear it.
@@gsd32i : Hmmmm Everyone I ask says yes on these Bonneville engines. Even the general manager at my dealership has a T120 and his does make noise. Why is this such a mystery?
Hi. I hope to put some new rear shocks on soon. Just got to make sure the wife doesn't find the invoice. Should give the bike the handing it deserves. 👍
I think it was due to the fact that the 890R’s engine delivers its highest power and torque figures higher up in the rev range. So, it wants to be ridden hard. That was my interpretation anyway. Agree, it was unclear in the video.
It's a bit tall for me (most bikes are) at 5'6" , but got adjustable rear gas rear shocks from TEC. Not best quality, but lowered enough. Front springs too. Not bad for 1000mile tour of France/Germany. A good all rounded really.

Demo booked for tomorrow - can’t wait !

I’m seriously thinking about getting one of these. Nice informative video, thanks.

Did you buy the tuck and roll @@ponderguy7724 or one of those greaser things??

The exhaust noise reminds me of the car chase in the film Bullitt, Steve McQueen driving the Ford Mustang. Have the baffles been removed?
It sounds great on the overtakes. Is that the standard exhaust on it?
I think the only music we needed was that exhaust note.

No but it was one of the Triumph accessories , Vance and Hines…. Not sure if they offer it for the current models
Vance and Hines slip on’s or full system ?

Would this bike be a comfortable fit for a 5,4 male ?

Yes, but I believe they still do their own thing....👍
