Outstanding!! Your equipment and weapons are exactly what the early 1980s US Army infantry squad when I was a soldier. The M1 Steel Pots were used all the way till 1988 state side before the Kevlar helmets got issued.
These guys are portraying the 11th Armored Cavalry division in West Germany during the mid/late 80s. They didn't have flak vests. None of the troops stationed in West Germany during the 1980s wore them on REFORGER exercises either. Maybe they would've issued them during wartime, but there's few to no photos of troops stationed or training in West Germany with flak vests.
