That two man night time scouting mission must've been quite unnerving especially knowing thousands of enemy soliders are near. Dunn's near discovery was hair raising and his return across the river to his companion certainly was a breath of fresh air for them. Night with mist is the perfect combination for a swarming ambush.
I know he’s a madman swimming in those rivers at night too with all the crocs 🤣
Scouting is much easier in small teams because the chabce of them sending out a platoon to catch a couple scouts is not only dangerous for ambushes but also way too slow to ever catch
imagine if the serbs actually used scouts before camping near the Maritsa river. these ppl did their job, and really good too.
imagine being a zulu soldier having never seen combat, and, at once, you see these guns firing down upon you, weapons and noises you've never heard of start firing at you and you continue charging forward. those men had balls of steel.
And systems full of drugs.
@@jessecaple170Are we talking cot? If not what would Zulus be taking?
@@ericthompson3402 no we're talking Amanita muscaria, plus some other additives. As stated by a shaman of the zulu historical society. The fly agaric gives you a powerful sense of invincibility...and that's from personal experience.🍄
@@jessecaple170Thanks! I'll take your word for it.
Most Zulus had heard and seen firearms before. Indeed most of them possessed a firearm, usually an old musket, in the war of 1879. But I do take the point that no warrior before the start of the 1879 war had faced massed firepower of a European enemy before. the last time Zulu army had done was against the Boers in the late 1830s.
Loved the whole series. Thank you
Brilliant I’m glad you enjoyed, thanks for watching
Another great video thanks 🙌
Love watching these takes on past battles absolutely brilliant 👏 from Carlisle Cumbria England
These videos are outstanding. One minor criticism though. I find the leaves, etc blowing about in the air to be extraneous and distracting.
Thank you I'm very glad you enjoy them, unfortunately there is nothing I can do as this is a visual glitch with the game and mods that I'm using
Snowflake. lol
These are rivetting uploads 👍
It appears that the British learned their lesson from Isandlwana and were prepared for the Zulu in this battle with defense of wagons around their camp. British firepower held the Zulus at bay. British held their ground, Chelmsford recovers from the loss at Isandlwana and restored British fortunes.
Beautiful work. 🫡
Thank you 🙌
absolutely great
Well done. The animation is excellent and your commentary as well.
Over the last year or so I have seen other animations of past historical battles that were absolute rubbish and appeared to have been generated by some sort of Ai . They claimed to have over a million views but there were few comments. I am glad to see they appear to have been culled out.
I actually spoke too soon. I just saw another one from the worst of them.
These are great graphics. I liked the lads on the 9lber. Looked realistic. The RDs landing into the advancing mob and a couple of bodies flying in the sky.
Charges are described as being conducted mounted infantry. The video appears to show cavalry specifically lancers however?
You should check what you’ve typed before posting.
“Nobody told you to stop working.”
That’s borrowed from the film Zulu.
Anyone else wondering what happened to the 10 year old that got captured? Thrust into the middle of a horrible battle at such a tender age and surviving a crazy charge like that! Then taken in by the English navy to sail the seas. I wonder what became of him after that and how long he lived and whatnot. That would make for an epic biography and/or screenplay no?
Wow that is interesting thanks for sharing
This is the 3rd Zulu v Brit vid I've watched and enjoying them but can't help noticing Colour Sergeant Bournes voice in every one! That man sure got about didn't he? 🤣😂
Join the British Army - See the world.
Cool video, what mods do you use?
Thanks! I’m using the khartum and Zulu mod
Pity about the incorrect pronunciation of all the place names eg. Tugela River should be Two-geh-lah
Its an AI voice.
@@chrissheppard5068 I thought AI was smart😏. But it doesn't have an ear for the Zulu voice with its soft clicks and long vowels, maybe the most attractive language in Southern Africa (when it isn't angry).
Very good. Please never reveal or indicate the outcome of the battles at the beginning.
Thanks and sure I’ll know this for future videos
A night attack would have put spears on a much better footing vs rifles.
Needs a British narrator to fully do these posts justice. Not sure why they have changed to a American. But still great viewing and informative.
The “narrator” will be an AI voice, surely - voicing a script - which is why some of the pronunciations are all over the place & why they also vary inconsistently throughout the narration - depending on the exact punctuation & abbreviations that are used in different parts of the script.
Hey man awesome video, what mod is this though?
The game is Napoleon Total War with the Kartum and Zulu mod
Do we get Rorke's Drift ?
Cudos on flying the union Jack the correct way.
Looks like Chicago on a Saturday night
I can't imagine what was going through Dunn's mind when he got close to the enemy. The adrenaline flowing through his body must have reached a level never experienced by him.
You are using some of Mods I made it, can you please Link the names in description for Copyright Safety?
Yes my apologies I’ll do that now
What is the name of the mod that you made?
The Zulu lost a thousand out of 12. Imagine if they had maintained their spirit, getting just 500 inside the lager. The rest would've taken heart.
Ah the good old days
Shame they didn’t use the correct flags, especially for the cavalry.
I would ask you sort out your pronunciation of various African names. It would greatly assist credibility. Even details like calling the assagai’s of the Zulu’s ‘spears’.
We all know how it ends.
An impi was around four thousand warriors. If there were twelve thousand, it means that there were three impis.
clearly terrible litter in the air there 150 years ago, even though no trees or nearby town. Very odd
Not a fair fight.
British have cannons, rockets, gatling guns and breech-loading rifles.
The Zulus only had sharp sticks.
The Zulus defending their homeland against a British Invasion
Who cares. Do u want a pat on the back. The zulus invaded other places too. Liberal brainwashed anti everything white nonsense
This what happens when you use modern weapons against primitive weapons
It's Inyezane river, not "inyi-zey". Good animation though. Re-enactments are interesting to watch. The best.
No just well trained troops
Not sure the Zulu’s had guns😂
the zulu had taken many guns at Isandlwana, as the video also states they had bought some.
just a red indians armed themselves v the US cavalry
Hi
Hi
They weren't "Europeans", they were Britons.
이산들와나의 전멸을 생각하라
Why, why , oh why do there have to be those bloody annoying blades of grass etc. whirling across the screen on every video that you've put out? It REALLY irritates and detracts from an otherwise excellent presentation.
Zulu was my favourite film as a boy but it’s terrible what the British did. Rocked up and demanded subservience and land, and then killed because they didn’t get it.
Can anyone tell me what they mean by Europeans , i thought British were Europeans , I'm American
Mostly soldier in War Of England Was From india . Indian Of hendoostan For one sheling in Day They Killed themseves in helping Britania 🤣🤣
zulus bravest of the brave.
❤ Good ole England 😊
African..what to expect 😂🤭
British imperialism at work.
Yawn
Yawn.
This is what all the countries did that could in that age.
Thankfully
Yawn
Knowing how extraordinary the gatling guns could be against native warriors with spears and some rifles--WHY were so FEW ever used-they should have deployed a DOZEN !!--not 2!!
Да интересная битва ,из укрепления расстреливать артиллерией дикарей.
