People don't take Will Smith seriously as a rapper. Even Nas said 'Will is a true MC'. Will was the first rapper in history to be awarded a grammy in 1988. @swp5369 4 года назад

Not underated. If it wasn't 4 Jeff and other Philly Dj's, people would not have advanced their game so soon. Jeff raised the bar. I mean, how can any DJ stay with those boring- straight -kick drum scratches after hearing "The Magnificent" on their 1st album or hearing the "He's the Dj, I'm the rapper " album? When I heard Rhythm TRax house party style as a kid, I nearly lost my mind! Like WTF??? Nobody was doing that. People know they got their shit from Jeff, or at least he forced them 2 improve. It's like when James Brown and his funk came around. Many were forced 2 copy the style if they wanted hits! Jeff and Will were a big influence in hip hop. These hard acting fools, just don't want 2 admit it. In a battle back in those days, I believe Will could go toe 2 toe with many of these dudes in a free style. Skills! All I can say.

@@djmegamase7590 not at all, I have seen cats from JMJ to Flash, Jeff, DST, Dee, Cash Money, Terminator X, Cee, Evil E, Jazzy Jay, and many more, Jeff is not underrated at all. The fact is he is considered by quite a few to be the greatest if not on the shortlist of great true Hip-Hop DJs. Jeff was so highly respected that his name came before the Fresh Prince's name. He won the DMC worldwide contest an incredible feat.

He was such an underrated lyricist. Always thought Will Smith was a dope MC especially in his prime. What makes him even more talented as a musician is that he never had to curse and was able to reach all cultures of people with his music.

"You shoulda seen the people dancing and shaking and moving and jumping and spinning and clapping while the beat box was grooving and screaming and yelling while on the microphone I was flowing, fresh rhymes I was showing, the people said 'Yo! Keep going!" So I continued to rock. Special assistance from my homeboy Ready Rock!." This is my favorite verse from The Fresh Prince, with the second verse from Parents Just Don't Understand running a close second.

October 28th 2023. Just listened to Will’s episode 1 of his class of ‘88 pod. I really wanna understand rap, start making music soon, and I wanna understand how rap has evolved into what it is today. I’m a 2000s kid, grew up watching Fresh Prince.
A bunch of Will’s movies. Kids that day he’s corny are just being lame, just cuz he didn’t cuss.
