[Yocheved]
Yal-di ha-tov veh ha-rach
(My good and tender son)
Al ti-ra veh al tif-chad
(Don't be frightened and don't be scared)
My son, I have nothing I can give
But this chance that you may live
I pray we'll meet again
If He will deliver us
She, hands down, has the most beautiful voice I've ever heard in entire life. There is no argument.
I agree! I think Ofra Haza's singing is my favorite thing about Prince of Egypt!
Aleah Grove Same she has a very lovely voice I love this and her voice
yes, Ofra Haza captures the Soulfulness and suffering of a people.
She didn't only have beautiful voice. She herself was a very beautiful woman.
There can never be any argument, her voice is so hauntingly beautiful I still feel so upset over her not being here anymore. Her voice, her kind nature and her elegant natural beauty
If only she hadn’t passed so soon. She had such a heavenly voice gifted by God himself, it’s enough to make you shed tears.
When did she die ?
@@shadowmane0147 2000
Aww! I didn't know she passed 😢🤷🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️, but yes get voice was enough to make you 😢. May God rest her soul 💕.
How old was she ?

Ofra Haza had one of the most purest, clearest voices ever. Phenomenal!
I agree!
You can listen to "ofir ben shitrit".
Israeli singer. They say she reminds ofra haza with her voice.
The clearest voice ever!!!
I can't handle her voice this just makes me cry
+KatherineZeGreat It makes me the same feeling. I don´t know why
Same
KatherineZeGreat same
pfffft... i am balling
i know why we cry.... bcz this is proof their is deliverance
The Dreamworks animators were so struck by Ofra Haza's talent and beauty that they literally based Yocheved upon her. Her singing is absolutely moving and has me in tears every time I hear her voice singing this lullaby.
I too. I loved this lullaby so much I would sing it to my baby girl at the time! What a gift she and the songwriters bestowed on us future generations.
She had the most divine, crystal and heartbreaking voice I've ever heard.
Agree..!! TToTT
YES hr voice just touches my soul so powerful and moving.
R.i.p her. Lovely Ofra
What makes her peformance even more "legendary" is that she actually sung this part in 17 different languages....including my own, Finnish, which is quite hard language to learn to even pronounce so it would sound convincing, but I can tell you, I was utterly fooled to believe that whoever sung that part in Finnish dub either was Finnish woman "faking accent" or some-one who had moved to live in Finland, had learned the language, but had obviously foreign accent....
I could have never believed that it was in fact sung by one and same person who sung it in English and all these other languages, the way she pronounced/sung those Finnish word was so convincing that I thought it must have been a person who had atleast lived in Finland and learned the language
ruclips.net/video/Pg-PkWK727U/видео.html
You're so correct. Thank you for writing this. I believe that is why so many people acknowledged and respected her obvious amazing talent as a divine vocalist (and as a loved and humble person).
Did you also know, that the people who made this movie, heard and saw her, so they decided to make the mother of Moses in Ofra Haza's image?
Ye I know...sad thing what happened to her, but atleast her performance lives forever with this movie and even through Moses mother as she was drawn to look like her.
She sang also in hebrew (you can even hear some words in the begining of this english version ) which was her native languge and the charcters' as well. I don't know why ,but when i hear the hebrew version it's 1000 times more powerfull for me (and i cry like a baby whenever i hear "just" the english one so think what what with the hebrew one)
WOW! thanks for sharing. I didn't know this.
Thanks for sharing😊
I remember watching this as a kid and always wanting a full version with “just the lady”, her voice was mesmerizing.
That is the incredible Ofra Haza. I just binged in her music and I am in love
This is the most powerful song out of any animated movie I've ever seen. Her voice is almost too much to handle. I miss her...
Hazafan88 no voice on earth can match Ofra's and Whitney's.
@@Greezy2000 Whitney was incredible as well although my favorite voice is Ofra's

So phenomenal!! I can feel myself being present at the sandy Middle East just by hearing her voice.
One of the best singers ever sang... sad she died
מאז מותה לא הייתה וכנראה כבר לא תהיה מישהי עם כשרון וקול אלוהי כזה...
She didn't died she was murder by her husband
@@talyashema8771 wait what?!
@D C She died out of AIDS....many accused her husband of infecting her with HIV without her having any knowledge of it before it was too late, but her husband (who died out of drug overdose some year later, further fueling the speculation that her husband had got HIV himself from using dirty drug needles before), although her husband said that she would have gotten HIV from blood transfusion she received in a hospital following a miscarriage. Whatever the truth behind it, it was never known, but either way its a sad thing when that kind of stuff happens...
@@Balnazzardi wow..💔
It really upsets me that on the soundtrack they had Amy Grant sing the River Lullaby. They still included Deliver Us with Ofra, but why in the 7 layers of hell would they put Amy Grant on there singing this? She does a terrible job. This song is Ofra Haza's only!!!!!
I know, and she sang it in 17 languages
Ikr Ofra wipes the floor with Amy Grant, who the hell is Amy Grant even? Lol
Ofra's part is in the movie, so hers is the canon version.
.
Yes I agree
Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston are often described as the Vocal Trinity, but I just love Ofra more. Although the other three wonderful ladies have incredible voices (Although Mariah being a wonderful person is highly questioned..), Ofra Haza's voice is simply from heaven. I've yet to hear an artist that moves me to tears and makes me float on the clouds of heaven when I close my eyes, like Ofra Haza's voice does.
Rest in peace angel, your voice will live on forever and ever.
What does being a wonderful person have anything to do with this?
@@briannab4037 I was wondering the same thing lol like ? What does that have to do with her voice
Porque a voz de Mariah é questionável? Ela tem uma voz celestial, maravilhosa, suave e potente ao mesmo tempo.
@@GrafinVonHopperMariah lost her voice 15 years ago and mimed alot that's why it's fake now. And she isn't a nice person which removes the enjoyment of the music. Whitney was very arrogant in her last 8 years so I stopped listening to her too. Whitney was no role model for women no matter how good she could sing in the nineties before her major drug problem's.
@@slotwinExcitementMariah perdeu a voz? Você está louco? Ela continua bem e ainda seguindo carreira. Sua voz envelheceu porque é normal as pessoas envelhecerem, mas ela não deixou de ter potência e atingir as notas altas como ele sempre fez. Sem falar que aqui ninguém tá entrando no mérito de as cantoras serem boas ou más pessoas. Estamos falando do talento.🤷🏻♀️
The most gorgeous and haunting voice ever. I’m transported to the desert.
Her voice always gives me the chills, she had such a gift.
Her voice is beautiful and haunting. The most beautiful I've ever heard.
An absolute goddess. Taken too soon. RIP Ofra metuka❤
Her voice is like the spirit of all Abrahamic prophets' mothers.

Ofra Haza is the only thing about The Prince of Egypt I like! Her voice rules, and she left a huge legacy in Israeli music!
It's almost passover and I am thinking of this wonderful song. And how Hashem has delivered me from so many bad things and so many good things have been found.
May Hashem protect us all and especially during this Passover holiday
Perfect movie perfect score. RIP Ofra.
her voice is sent straight from heaven i swear to christ
The beginning when she is singing in Hebrew is my favorite part. The entire song is beautiful.
What an incredible score! Hats off to Steven Schwartz.
And what a stunning voice! Truly mesmerising. R.I.P. Ofra Haza.
Its 2020 and this song still hits me. This song belonged to Ofra Haza and I dont think anyone can bring it back to life. Truly sad that she passed so early. RIL OFRA HAZA 😢
There's one girl I've recently discovered who comes kinda close but good enough to do this song ☺️
Ive seen 2 women on TT that come close but no where near ofras level she gives me goosebumps every time i hear her
RIP she died from AIDS related pneumonia. So sad her voice is so pure and authentic. Truly a treasure to us all.
From her husband, no less
@@selina5598 indeed, the most terrible of things is to get it from your own husband...knowing he has not only cheated, but learning that you have HIV thats become AIDS. May she rest in peace
@@Balnazzardi Even more sad knowing how much care for HIV and AIDS patients has advanced in a few short years. Had that care been available earlier, she may have still been with us.
@N. H. I read she got HIV via an infected blood transfusion after she had a miscarriage. Or at least that' what the husband said. She died in 2000...by then there already was medication to prevent someone with HIV to get AIDS. It's so sad, if only she got that medication earlier..
@@Balnazzardi but it's unknown who infected who. There are many different rumors
How voice is ridiculously mindblowing. I don't know how to describe her heavenly voice. How is it even possible to have such a voice? My God..
God Bless the late singer Ofra Haza She was definitely "The Soul of Israel"
most beautifull vioce and movie i still cry when i hear this...
From the first moment I heard her on the Prince of Egypt soundtrack I knew this was a special talent. This was the only song I heard her deliver to date but I knew instantly there was magic here. I'd surely love to hear her sing Avinu Malkeinu.

Thats all.
Her voice it just touches my heart, this song just wants to make me cry.

Agreed! I could listen to just those two words sung by her over and over again. Just stunning and filled with pure emotion.
The world lost this beautiful unique voice way to early. Rip Ofra Haza.
such a beautiful and heartbreaking voice.
Heart-wrenching. When I become a mother I always cried listening to this part of the movie. The amount of bravery and pain that would lead a mother to take this step is unthinkable.
Her voice was indescribable. I want to cry every time I listen to this song. I wish I could sing like her. My favorite voice and song. Lots of love.
I have never listened to a voice so beautiful, I swear I can't take this song out of my mind
You need to check out her discography. She has so many other songs. I weep to her, literally.

VEGA4554 in here (Israel) its called "silsolim" and it quit common in arabic/ middle east music
I just call it Middle Eastern Soul music
I think Ofra Haza is what is called Yemenite Israeli and Yemenite singing has that soulful whaling in their songs that cries out
What Yarden said.
This is absolutely beautiful. Just incredible.
Before seeing this movie as a kid, I'd never heard of Ofra Haza; or that such a pure voice existed. I've been a fan of her ever since. I've looked for other singers with a voice like hers, and I've found some that come close; but I have yet to find anyone that can compete with her absolutely crystal-clear voice.
If u love this i suggest u youtube her song "Im Ninalu"
I'm really sad she died 1 year before I was born :( I wanted to meet her when I heard her song
Is there any live footage of her singing this song? I really want to see it :(

As a christian, we treasure Israeli people to the max. Seeing them is actually seeing God's apple of the eye (they will forever be his chosen people), and by listening to Ofra's voice just gives me chills. She's in a much better place now. Salute to all Jews.

plz dont hate jews this was the meaning of all this movie the bible have dark storys about how jews suffer and try to servive throgh fifth so plz may peace will be upon us all i love you people no hate you will have more in life without plz
The real jews, the ones this movie talks about, the one the bible talks about are not in the land anymore. We were scattered everywhere during slavery. We're still hated, and mistreated by the ones who stole everything they have including their nationality. The jew-ish people in the land now, claiming to be jews, are not jews at all.

For the Hip Hop aficionados, Ofra Haza is the voice heard on a sample in Eric B. and Rakim's classic hit, Paid in Full back in 1987. The sample was from her 1984 hit song, "Im Nin'alu".

And what I found most interesting is that she sings in portuguese on the brazilian version too! And I believe she must sing in other langagues too!
Possibly a Muslim country, to my knowledge they do not allow the likeness of prophets to be shown. It could also be for some other reason in some other country, but that is my guess.

Roseville Blake, thanks for respecting us Jews and what we treasure although it might be hard to accept we are the chosen people
@WILLIAM SHAW

+WILLIAM SHAW
Correct me if I'm wrong (any Jewish person out there), but I believe the Jews were/are chosen to spread the word of God to those who are complete non-believers, and to tell the story of the Promised Land, the Torah, and so on. Us Christians are to spread the word of Jesus Christ, the Messiah to the world and lead them to eternal life and salvation. We both have very important purposes, and we can't have one without the other. The only difference is that Christians have accepted something that the Jewish people cannot accept, and is that a bad thing? I don't know.
+Aleah Grove no it's not a bad thing. There are also other religions too besides Christians that don't follow Jesus. The Jews think of Jesus in other ways from when he was a Jewish living Man learned and wise Man of Peace trying to make positive changes and a child of God as are the rest of us
she was an angel that walked among us, she is back home :(
