I'm one of the lucky people and I know it LOL. I grew up in the 70's and got to enjoy all of this amazing music for all of these years. And I am still loving it.
@@Sodampurtie1I would like to see disco make a comeback someday.I will be 55,and I remember some of the good times ,musically. Radio stations like WNBC 66 AM NYC (now defunct)played this category of music.
@@GeorgeMaster-xg7lg I’m from NY, Brooklyn to be exact. 107.5 WBLS and 92 WKTU played all the Jamz. I miss dancing 💃🏽🕺🏽 with my Dad s as I was his ONLY BABYGIRL. 😢💔 Disco was fun and kept up on the dance floor. I champion Disco too. 😘
This song is exactly why going to the disco was so much fun! We danced all night long and it was a total riot! We did have sooooo much fun and I met my husband there.. some things we need to go back to so you young people can have some fun too!
Unfortunately, it's hard to incorporate shootings, murders, big booty's and oral sex in intricate detail, into a disco song. The young people just wouldn't relate! They wouldn't have the distraction of trying to walk, dance and look cool in 5 layer platform shoes! Music and songs made up of more than 1 line of lyrics not repeated 500 times? Slowly spinning mirror balls and no lasers flashing and throbbing?.... They'd be bored to death and just spend the night stabbing and fighting each other! 🤦♂️
Bee Gees are basically a cornerstone of great disco music: "You Should Be Dancing" "Staying Alive" "Night Fever" "Jive Talkin'" "Tragedy" "Love You Inside and Out"
This song still sounds as good as it did when I saw the movie Saturday Night Fever back in 1977. What a great era for music. I'm a 69 year old black woman and I just love the music from back in the day.
In 76 to 79 I was 18 to 20 and was in the US Army in the 24 hour city called Berlin, Germany....Germans were all in on Disco and as a country boy when I left Berlin in 79 I could disco down better than I could 2 step, swing or waltz. You should see my wife and I hit the floor today when disco comes on during a break...of course I throw out my back each time but......WHO CARES? LOL
This song was featured in the mega hit movie "Saturday Night Fever" (1977). It garnered the Tramps an Oscar award as part of the soundtrack of the movie. This became a monster hit for them during the disco era of the 70's and early 80's. Great reaction as always.
There wasn't a dirty version but there was an extended club mix like most big disco hits at the time. There would be the '7 inch 45 RPM record that was played on the radio then there would be a '12 inch version that would be much longer for extended club dancing.
This song was my secret guilty pleasure back in the day. My friends and I would only be caught dead listening to punk/new wave, but I LOVED this disco song!
Time to listen to some of the disco originators. Try George McCrae doing "Rock Your Baby", The Hues Corporation doing "Rock The Boat", Harold Melvin doing "The Love I Lost", Manu Dibango doing "Soul Makossa", Chakachas doing "Jungle Fever", and The O'Jays doing "Love Train". These are some of the real "cornerstones" of disco.
Such a joy to watch you both enjoy the cornucopia of music thru the decades! I can see you both on the dance floor with this one! Shawn with bell bottoms and flair, Mel moving to the funky groove spreading love. Peace.
Great song! Was so hot 🥵 on the dance floor back in the day. I’m thinking 🤔 you two should do some Earth, Wind and Fire. Fantasy is a great one to start with. In fact I’m going to request it on the next live stream…. 🎶✌️😎
this is the THE BEST disco song (try listening to the long version sometime, it''ll get you even more into the inferno). You two are so very awesome in your reactions, good looking and fun people! Thanks for reacting. Now it's time to burn, baby, burn.....on more reactions.
One of THE biggest disco hits ever. I saw this group live about 10 years ago in a Toronto casino and they were great. Check out their song That's Where the Happy People Go and my personal fave, Hold Back the Night.
Girl we did burn the dance floor down when this came on, body heat rising up from the dancers. we got on the dance floor for three hours non stop and you would 10 pounds in a night. It was the best, it was love of dance and music, all of us together, no race involved just dancing. Watch the movie, Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta.
This is the pure disco age. I was in it. I'm a rocker but loved this song. I'm a guitarist not a dancer but my girlfriend actually got me on the dance floor for this. What a beat. Gold baby, Gold!!! ✌ 💘
You are right. We WERE lucky to live back then and have this music and the love of the time ! I'm just glad so many are learning the great music we had in the 70s and 80s.
This is another song that’s blue printed in my brain at 69 this song absolutely rocks and I still know all the words….amazing why do you think dementia patients are coming back to life when subjected to a controlled setting and head phones and played there music. They can’t remember shit but play there music and they can sing all the words to it …that’s memories !!
I love that you guys cover all genres of music❤️.... i'm a bit older than you I'm basically a product of the 70s and 80s but I absolutely love music from the 50s...
Brings back many memories of my Disco dancin' days, this song was really fun to line dance to! Tavares (Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel) is another great group!
Ahhh Disco. Togetherness and being who you are , on the floor , and there is something special about the way men and women looked back then natural beauty
The lead singer has very good technique; he carries his note thru a word, fills it out really well! This gives his lyrics a nice, rich feeling, powerful energy & passion as well, great stuff!!
Everybody got up and dance when this song first came out. I dig when his voice gets gritty. My homeboy David Reyes , we called him Dead Eye, he won a dance contest with this song playing. I can't believe I remember that.
You two are fabulous! I remember to this day, getting up the nerve to ask the DJ, in a disco I had no business being in because I was only 17, to play "Disco Inferno" for me. He did, and me and my girlfriends danced the night away. Im 62 now, you two are bringing back the memories. I was so lucky....
This song appeared in the epic movie of 1977 "Saturday Night Fever." This song won an Oscar as well as all the songs that appeared in the movie soundtrack...It was a once in a lifetime achievement, and it was unprecedented in the Academy Awards annals.
God I wish I had a skating rink where i live, this song brings back memories of the skating rink, miss them days,,happy Thanksgiving, love from a small town in Virginia
When I was 6 my older sisters had the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack and wore that thing out, my first introduction to funk and disco! This track was always my favorite, then in the 90s when disco made a comeback, I got to go to the clubs and dance my a$$ off to this song!
This was the short version. The longer dance version always played at the clubs and folks would tear it up on the dance floor. After a long week of work and school, my friends and I would hit the club and just have fun. No guns, no drugs. Just dancing, dressed up and having fun with everyone else. A lot less public mental health issues in those days as there was souch great music and dance moves to work out any of life's stresses.
This is in my opinion, THE best disco tune of all time; flawless. It was played in the smash hit film Saturday Night Fever, starring John Travolta. So glad you discovered it.
I just can't believe I remember every word to this song. It's been forever since I've heard it.

It was the best!
This is one of the most iconic songs of that era, and continues to be used in tv/movies.
When music had no auto tune.... just a real band behind a great voice.

He said burn that “mother” down!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
We did have it good. I don't know if we realized it at the time though.
I doubt we did!!!
We didn't know it at the time, it was just everyday "normal" for us. Thank goodnes!

Detroit had tons of Disco clubs in the 70s it was so much fun.
