      If I've heard correctly wasn't this like the first Disco hit, wasn't it?......I remember a documentary about Disco and I remember this song being a big deal because it was the drummer that came up with what they called the 4 on the Floor drum beat, which was for 4 beats per measure with the base drum (the floor pedal) drum and prior to that almost every song was beats on 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 ...but that 4 on the floor was 1 2 3 and 4, and that really became what made disco distinct from RnB was that 4 beats per measure.

    • @androlibre9661
      @androlibre9661 Год назад +4

      I just went down a mini youtube rabbit hole because I couldnt remember exactly, but this wasn't the first Disco hit but the drummer's for the Tramp's name is Earl Young, and he is credited for inventing the four on the floor beat pattern (as it was used in Disco), and there's a clip on RUclips "Earl Young Explains his Revolutionary Disco Beat" and the man himself explains it.....and damn what that man can do with a set of drums

    • @colibri1
      @colibri1 Год назад +13

      That is absolutely true. From House to Hi-NRG to a lot of Techno to today's beats, it all has its origin in that 4-on-the-floor, metronomic seventies disco beat. You tell some people that and they disagree, but it's true. Seventies disco was the first "beats per minute" music.

    Of course it had gogo dancing boys, and a great light show and sound system!
    In Chicago, it was open til 4 am Monday -Thursday, and 5 am in Friday & Saturday!!
    It was the best.
    When Elton John and greats like Barry Manilow were performing in town, the Bistro is where they went after!!
    Too much fun!
