Another one of the great R&B soul groups from the 60's. Their biggest hits were in the 70's with "In the Rain", "Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get", "Hey You! Get Off My Mountain", "Be My Girl", "Shake It Well" etc. They also did a collaboration with Snoop Dogg in 1993 called "Doggy Dogg World".

First, let me say you guys are my favorite reactors. The love you have for each other shines through. There were so many groups back in the 70s that could flat-out harmonize: The Stylistics ("Stone In Love With You," You Make Me Feel Brand New")... the mighty O'Jays ("Forever Mine," "Used To Be My Girl," "Backstabbers"); LTD with "Back In Love Again" is a banger. Brothers Johnson ("Strawberry Letter 22," "I'll Be Good To You," ... and especially for Shawn, the Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose "Treat Her Right."

This was one of my favorite songs when I was a 9 year old kid. African American male singing groups of that era had such extraordinarily rich texture and harmony and an ecstatic quality to their vocalizations, to me that is the greatest singing I've ever heard, even greater than the best operatic singing or my own Italian love songs or even Neapolitan style (well, they're both right up there - primo a primo - best of the best!). It's such a shame that that has been lost to rapping or vocal styling through a voice synthesizer - which is a tremendous loss of soul and singing virtuosity, but the culture's gone shallow, and the machine has taken over where soul once ruled. Such a pity. The back and forth between bass and tenor/falsetto would lead to a rapturous explosion at the song's high point, you would just want to explode right along with it, like a supernova!
