The Dramatics is an American soul music vocal group, formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 1964. A lot of people know them for the songs they wrote in the 1970s.
A group of four friends, Ron Banks, Larry Demps, Rod Davis, and Elbert Wilkins, founded Dramatics in 1964. They were originally billed as Sensations, but the name was changed to Dramatics in 1965. The first record they released was titled "Bingo," which was released by Wingate Records, a subsidiary of Golden World Records in Detroit.

That brotha was truly loyal to the group. A RARE quality in the music business for sure!!
it was it is and will always be a dramatic experience even though Ron and and Lenny are gone won't be able to see them anymore but I'm so thankful for the music they left behind like I said was is and always always will be
I admire how each of these gentlemen were consistently humble and gracious, and definitely a "class act!" All qualities that are noticeably absent and very much needed in the current music business!

Every time I see a Dramatics video or hear one of their songs I feel sad because Ron Banks and Lenny Mayes warm my heart. They were the love of my heart.
We have to give credit to all of the Soul singer groups who were musical geniuses in the 70's. The Dramatics were a outstanding group with each one being lead singers. Excellent interview with a successful amazing R&B group with the best timeless music. ♥ ♥ ♥
