I love the story about how the producers were struggling for a theme song and on a whim, in a last ditch effort, decided to write Henry Mancini to see if he'd be interested in coming up with something. He probably saw it as a challenge and we got the amazing theme song to the show. Swinging for the fences with Mancini sure paid off.

I met Fred Berry just before his passing and first of all he was not a "break-dancer" bboy. He was a locker from the group called the lockers. Locking was the LA style of dance that was created in 1970 by the late Don Cambell Lock. Re-Run was a locker. Breaking stared several years later in New York in 1973 74. Y'all didn't do your research before doing these interviews. Shabba Doo another Locker and buddy of mine would of said this to y'all if you had the chance to interview him. Sadly he passed during the pandemic.

It is ashame Mabel king left the sitcom she was the glue on that show. The white men there didn't like to pay black actors. Black actors today know that already.

If there's one thing worse than robo-hosts, it's adults who censor themselves and speak like children. These aren't even profanities. Things have names, and it's okay to use them; Or are we all okay with RUclips dictating how we speak?
And as long as I'm complaining, Dwayne's catchphrase was, "Hey HEY hey!", not "Hey! Hey! Hey!" He wasn't a circus juggler.

He was not a "POP LOCK DANCER." He was "Campbell Locker," more commonly referred to the dance simply known as "locking." Goggle the Pop Lock group "The Electric Boogaloos," observe their dance moves, and you'll see how different "pop locking" was from "locking." BIG difference between the two dance styles. BTW... Pop locking gained popularity as "Campbell" locking started to fade. Break dancing followed locking and pop locking shortly afterwards.

Back in the 1970's a lot of kids had racist parents so they thought they were supposed to be racist too. Then fast forward to the early 90's everywhere you go everyone seemed to embrace the persona of being a person of color. Which had previously been shunned for years by most but not all people with lighter skin color. The music the slang and the attitudes have all become one big movement, so much so, that what used to separate us now, brings us all together. Shows like What's Happening , Good Times, The Jefferson's and Sanford warmed the soul. The beginning...
