    You should have got the 39” guitar instead Landon. I bought one back in Feb. 2021 for $159.99 total, no shipping and no taxes. It’s light, no sharp frets, actually stays in tune pretty good. Pickups aren’t the best sounding, but for the price, I’m not complaining. And yes, I’m in Canada too, from Saskatoon. Also the 39” Telecaster does indeed have 22 frets.

    A have a black and white LyxPro strat which I cheerfully call "Clapton". It's ok, but required quite some maintenance... I had to replace the saddles and string trees, oil the fretboard, polish and file the frets - that sprout more than Brussel sprouts in the Netherlands and do a complete setup. If anything it was a great platform for me to learn how to properly set up and maintain my guitars 😀

    Funny thing is that Paulownia is super light and consistent in weight, but easy to scratch and dent, so the Fender Brad Paisley Tele sandwiches it with a layer of Spruce on either end.
    This guitar is perfect size for Bea to play with. Maybe fetch ?

The reason I know it was hand Crafted is I'm also a builder and it was one of my early builds. The two Lyx Pros are incredible. Once broken in it holds a tune. I got both of mine for $79.00. Actually I got them both for free. Actually I got a $10.00 gift card. That's a different story.

    The plastic control plate is a 'special' design feature. Those who live in the tropics typically seek out guitars with such desirable features to avoid corrosion issues.
    I suspect this guitar was sold in the wrong market as clearly Canadians don't appreciate such well thought out design features.
    Not to mention the wood of choice Paulonia, which is a weedy species in many countries (true), has unusually very small pores (stomatas), so that in locations with high humidity, (again sold in the wrong market), reduces the risk of wood expansion (high humidity) & contraction & eventual damage to the guitar.
    So, I'd suggest this guitar was cleverly designed, unfortunately the critical design elements were not appreciated by this Canadian reviewer.
    C'mon Landon your research department, away on Easter break, is no excuse for this misguided review. 'We' all expect more from you! 🤔
    Title should have been...
    Killer guitar for the 5 year old shredders. 👏

    It still kinda has that twang, lol! I think The Mitchell MM100 is a better deal in a traveler. Only about $125 and clean as a whistle. Comparable to the Ibenez Gio-mikro only It's more like if Schecter made a mini Omen. Mine has a really nicely grained fretboard with uniformly beveled frets ends. Only thing I don't like is the plastic nut which binds the strings and makes tuning a hassle.

    • @SuperShecky
      @SuperShecky 7 месяцев назад +1

      The MM100 I came across was almost good. The electronics/grounding was the downfall. They attempted to ground the strings through the bridge, but the bridge is painted black at every level, which breaks continuity, thus no ground and lots of buzz, until you scrape off paint between saddles, screws, bridge, and bridge posts. Big PITA. They also put copper tape on the control cavity cover, nice, but forgot to ground the copper tape, not nice. This is worse than no tape at all, it acts like a buzz antenna. The cool recessed output jack is a classy idea, but is a cheap part that became intermittent after a few months. Needed replacement. It's a pity, because the neck/body/overall feel are really nice.

    I have a lyx guitar not that size like a telecaster. Dark burst it’s ok for me since I’m learning but I have better guitars to learn on.

    Well, if you measure the whole thing from the tip of the head stock right down to the butt strap peg, it'll probably be 30 inches. (LOL!) But seriously, it sounds decent enough. (The acid test for me is always how it sounds distorted.on overdrive) I might get one. I'm always looking for a good traveling guitar, plus I'm curious to put it up against my Hofner "Shorty", which sounds totally killer on distortion, but suffers from serious neck dive.
