      Hey there! I just stumbled upon a new project called Morph e-bike, and it seems really interesting. It's a 2-in-1 eBike by freebeat that can be charged indoors, which is pretty impressive. I love the idea of being able to ride both indoors and outdoors with just one bike. The Morph eBike also has a powerful motor, suspension, and puncture-resistant tires, making it perfect for various terrains. Plus, the Smart Saddle Detection+ feature sounds amazing for fitness tracking and motivation. I can't wait to give it a try and experience the benefits firsthand!

OK sometimes I turn the motor off and sprint by and then I am actually hurting but that's fair, right?

    What I've learned from riding trails with my e-MTB friend is that e-MTB is really a separate sub-category of mountain biking. It is an entirely different experience, more akin to dirt biking. You can accelerate uphill and make short work of even the steepest climbs by tapping the enormous torque of the electric motors. The motor just changes the whole experience of a trail. It's not better or worse, just different. I personally am sticking with MTBs because I like the exercise and the lightness and simplicity of regular bikes.

    • @maaz322
      @maaz322 2 года назад +44

      I do exactly what you described. Ascended incredibly steep hills without dismounting, something a regular mtb would never even consider. You're definitely pouring a ton of energy, the motor is just an enabler to do something considered impossible for a regular mountain bike. You get the exercise if you push yourself to it. Hell, one downside, lugging the 50-60 pound bike around is plenty of exercise, helps your arms as well.

    • @_Jake.From.Statefarm_
      @_Jake.From.Statefarm_ 2 года назад +37

      the thing is now they have the SL versions which are as light as a regular AL bike.. and you just... turn off the motor if you don't want to use it. It really is the future of biking.. it's like.. a derailer.. You don't have to switch gears, you can go up it in the hardest gear, but let's face it, you probably wont.. and you can get a good enough work out doing MORE laps an you'll get better at going downhill because you'll do it A LOT more.

      I'm 66 y/o. As long as you have the right gearing, I see no need for an e-bike. Plus, how do the e-bike riders know if they are improving? Last year, I could do my favorite climb, while under my lactic threshold in 17:30. This year, I'm able to do it in 16:50. The e-bikers are missing out.

    • @pilotavery
      @pilotavery Год назад +1

      Exactly and it doesn't f****** matter if you had to exercise a little bit or a lot, the fact is you are enjoying yourself and getting exercise at the same time, and without an e-bike you wouldn't be able to do that experience at all. That's what it's about. If it was purely about exercising then biking is cheating in general because stationary bikes make you work harder, my point is it's not all about the exercise it's about the experience and while sure I wouldn't say you should bring a throttled e-bike and ride it around like a dirt bike, but if you are unable to pedal very hard, just using the pedal lightly for control and having the motor do most of the work and pedaling what you can when you can do it, it brings the capability of any trail nearby within your reach.

    Honestly, my E-MTB is the best thing that has happened to me in years!
    I gained a bunch of weight in the past few years and my Bike enables me to be active for so much longer!
    Where a normal bike would trigger my asthma or bring me to exhaustion after not even 10km, I’ll easily go 20-30km.
    It allows me to get out more, be in nature and most importantly: lose weight! Besides, getting out of the house at this time really helps me keep sane!
    What’s the point of exerting myself once or twice without assistance and then growing bored, if a little motorized assistance can keep me motivated to get out and move whenever the sun is shining?
    Can’t remember a day with good weather when I haven’t been out in the woods!

      I did the same and lasted 2 rides with her before I decided to sell a nice guitar as well as my 2019 Trance Advanced 29er to buy a Trance E+ X Pro 29er.
      Been out on it five times now and had a blast. Best decision I’ve made in a long time.

    I've slowly learned that most people who hate / are against e-bikes, are either secretly jealous and in denial, or are just selfish in general. Like the kinds of kids who got mad if you were also playing with the thing they wanted to play with. The type of kids who couldn't even share a basketball while on the playground.
    A bike is literally an inanimate object. It takes a lot of skill to hate something that doesn't do anything.
    Hate the rider, not the bike.
    If the person riding the bike is disrespectful of the trail, or other riders/hikers, then hate that rider, not the bike he chooses to ride. Because those types of riders are those types of riders regardless of what bike they are on.
    Riding a specific type of bike doesn't instantaneously and automatically make you a POS, the way you represent yourself while on the bike is what does, or doesn't make you a POS.
    Also, anyone who calls them a motorcycle/dirtbike has most likely never ridden a motorcycle OR an Ebike.
    Sure, there are some ebikes that are borderline motorcycles, and some that actually technically are motorcycles, but we are talking about e mountain bikes here, not e motor cycles.
    E mountain bikes are absolutely nowhere near a motorcycle.

    Imagine being the guy who smokes your buddies on the climbs anyways.
    Now, imagine being the guy who smoked your buddies on the climb AND you have an ebike w/a ski rope.
    Everyone gets more laps!

      Hell yeah! I bought an EUC last year and upgraded this year to a EXN with a knobby tire. I'm greeted with amazement everytime I ride. Can't keep me off the trails or inside on a nice day no matter how hard you try.

    Just saw this. Recently got my Orbea Rise and love it. It's not the whole monster truck of the "full fat" eMTBs but damn it still has plenty of power but is still nimble too! This "mid-powered" 38-46lb eMTBs will be the future.

    My worst experience with an e-bike on the trail was the time I felt like I was busting ass up this trail, sweating my ass off, out of breath, etc, and here comes e-bike man behind me not even breaking a sweat🤣

      I can feel you. Totally. I’m riding regular up for 2k elevation gain locally. When I am sweeting my ass off, I just hear high pitch zzzz sound closing by fast from my back. My first reaction is, seriously? Why bother to even ride this hill up when you are on ebike? Anyway, it’s people option to choose whatever bike suit them most. If they don’t or can’t physically competent to ride that hill, it’s fine for them to ride ebike. They also like to enjoy the magnificent view like all of us do. I’ll continue the old and hard way to bike till my body no longer support it. Then, I’ll get an ebike to enjoy the nature. Peace ✌️

    I'm over 70 and ride a racing bike for decades. For a few years now, e-bikes have been in fashion. For me a sign of the softening of the people. People no longer want to exert themselves and move less and less and are getting fatter and fatter. I'll stick with my racing bike and (hopefully) stay fit. I ride with a group of younger people and they all have e-bikes and I really enjoy riding with them. They are a little faster on steep climbs, but I'm faster on the straight and on the descents. And I do more for my health.
