I disagree. Family helps each other out and looks out for each other. My parents have bailed me out of money issues several times and helped me grow. I in turn, help them out especially since my mom has become sickly. My brothers and I do the same for each other. I believe in taking care of your family. A strong family that jurtures each other can become strong and wealthy.
However, you are right with OP's family. Her family never took care of her and never looked out for her. She was easily smitten with a small amount of affection and folded immediately with giving them money. She was not thinking at all. Family is family, but those people were not real parents to her at all.

@@brakis18 Most of these stories have the same elements. Parents financially & emotionally abuse the child. Sister is always the bad child but parents favor them. Beyond all reason OP becomes super successful. Sister can't conceive so need IVF (it's amazing how many of these stories have that in the plot). Of course parents demand successful child fund sister's fertility treatments or bad lifestyle. OP keeps trying to buy the love of the parents. OP finally learns their lesson and cuts everyone off.

Parents basically disrespected you and enabled your abuse. Then didn't invest in your future. First it was your college fund then it was their money and basically told you to kick rocks. You then give these people money. No, you shouldn't have ever given them the chance. They didn't value or care for you beyond your usefulness. They weren't parents. You can see that in Olivia in this story. She is a petulant person in this story. Never grew up and never learned to take responsibility. It's not your fault that she doesn't make enough money. If it's anyone's fault aside from Olivia it was her parent's fault for not instilling values and preparing their daughter for the hardships of life. Instead, they enabled and coddled her.

Still we’d fight or get along including helping with homework if possible. Honestly if we had been like that I’d of just focused on fishing as my sister is older yet for the longest time couldn’t/wouldn’t take her own fish of her hook. She’d try and have me do it but if I found a spot where I was just casting and reeling it in I’d refuse because why would I stop and help get 1 fish when I could get 3 in the same amount of time.
Though had I been in a more populated area probably would have tried boxing or wrestling as fighting was cool looking and after a bit I never lost a wrestling match to my sister.

At this point, with all those screen spotted messages, you could probably make a strong case of harassment and could get a lawyer to work on filing a restraining order against her parents and Olivia.
And on top of this, potentially even press criminal (or even civil) charges for felonious fradulant activity since 3k for 2 years comes out to 72k and that far exceeds a legal threshold as agreements in texts and emails could very well be considered a textual contract in some jurisdictions and they agreed to give the money to help *her parents* and the fact that the majority of it was being sent to Olivia without OPs knowledge could possibly be consider grounds for financal fraud...

To be honest I think parents should really listen when their children are saying that their siblings are bullying them. because it's easier for your children to lie to you and get away with stuff than anybody else. you always got to have the mindset that somebody might be lying.
and I do agree with op that it was way too late for them to officially apologize to her. they completely screwed her over and light her for years. now they cannot expect her to just turn the other cheek except them back in her life.
and I bet they feel terrible that they supported the daughter that was actually a bully for her entire life. and now they've completely burns down the bridge with their other daughter who will never be able to trust them again.
so the only thing they have in their life is a disappointment of their relatives, they're lying daughter and quite frankly the shame of what they did.
they truly are the worst. especially since they didn't realize what was happening straight under their nose's. they only really supported there on our daughter when the evidence was straight up thrown into their face. but now it's too late to rebuild the bridge they burned and exploded.

so the parents specifically said the 3k a month was for the parents bills. that right there is a valid oral contract. A lawyer could make a strong argument in court that the parents is in breach of a legally binding oral contract.
If this was me i would contact a lawyer and enquire about fincial restitution for breach of an oral contract within the jurisdiction.

You sent your parents 108,000 in total for 3 years... and they sent ya sister 43,200 of that money. Oh, nah, the moment i found out that kinda ish, i would've sued my parents for 108,000, and i would've sued my sister for 43,200 without remorse.

This is fiction. All these stories always results in the family begging to talk and be apologetic. Also you don't just check someone's phone and see financial transactions.

me: take it out of my college fund, when that runs out, take it out of my sisters college fund. That should last well long enough to get back on your feet.
