Nice tutorial. And yes, they look so much better with the spoiler. Fitted one on my previous car and, yes again, I was convinced about the aero effect; the front end did feel more stable at speed.
Awesome tutorial. I have this on my to do list, much nicer with one. Look forward to doing this on the driveway, swearing my head off, and it taking 8 hours.
One off my followers told me about your channel and suggested we should collaborate. I have MX5 MK1 😃 Anyway glad finding you. Keep up with a good work!
There is a GV style lip just like that for the Mk2 for £95 ish. Get the ABS ones so they don’t split. Fit should be exactly the same. You might need to supply hardware, which isn’t expensive.
@@foamdataservices I should have put mk2.5 above, the only ones I’ve seen for the NBFL are £300, and don’t look right unless you paint them in my opinion. The black ones look OEM on the NA for very little money and because of the shape they don’t look stuck on like the mk2.
ianduggan24 What you need is to find a RS factory stage replica front spoiler for a NBFL They are very similar design to these spoilers and in my opinion are subtle and perfect
One of the first things I did to mine, really improves the front end look of the car. Great guide too 👍🏻
Thanks Sean

Hi Tommy, feel free to send me an email to www.themx5restorer.co.uk to discuss a collaboration vid
I put on my nb a renault laguna lip, it just needed to cut both sides little bit shorter. It fit's like a glove on a miata
I have a Laguna lip on the front of the speedster :)
Where do the screws with a spring on go
Much better! Never noticed these before as a mk2 owner. Shame there isn’t a similarly cheap lip option for the NB.

18:30 what is that spoiler on the grey car in the background? Looks very nice!
Thats just a stock Mk2.5 front bumper
Damn now I wanna get one, but I know for certain the bolts will give me trouble where they can.
I just pulled the bumper and wings off my Mx5 and ALL the bolts were rusted. Had do drill and grind most of them... Replaced with stainless now. 😁
It's the ones that go through the bumper and front wings that are the real pain in the butt if rusted and rounded off!!
@@lightsuplightsdown3018 lol yup I hear ya..... Took over an hour to get one off using vice grips 10 degrees at a time.
Is there a body-coloured option for this spoiler?
Not to order directly, but they can be painted
I miss Jim, Jim was the best
What's happened to Jim?
Shame they didn't use the existing mounts....just behind the lip.
?
Just pulled mine off to fit an RS Active Type 1 overlay, took me 2 hours..a lot of WD and a lot of swearing.
