Some proof coins have a proven track record of successful investment. The one off sovereigns are all doing well in the secondary market. The 2022 sovereign looks like an obvious winner.

Yes.. I'm just not sold on the 2022 sovereign design yet.. just reminds me of a pound coin..

@@TangibleLife the bullion sovereign will be the same design so a probable premium on them in years to come as well.

I have been weighing this question as well. 20 years from now will anyone care?

Possibly.. but probably not unless in my mind the set has some exceptional significance.

Yes I've heard of the pobjoy (probably spelled it wrong tho lol.) That's a fantastic set there pal. High premium, yes. But by the sounds of it you are happy with what you've bought. I've paid over the odds for silver and still am. I upload a diverse set of coins to my channel. Everything from gold, silver to international, run of the mill currency coins. But people watch these videos- I'm sure you'll have noticed, people love coins. Bro, I always support fellow stackers and collectors. You've got a heap of subscribers but you can't have too many. Liked, subbed and 🔔

Are proof coin sets worth the premium, you ask? Sometimes yes, but sometimes no would be my answer. There’s been some obvious winners such as the special year design sovereigns, but I
think it’s not always so easy to spot the cream of the crop - especially when the RM seem intent on putting privy marks on some recent annual issues - some collectors love them, others don’t see the point. In 2018 I was lucky enough to acquire the 1989 special year Tudor Rose design 4 coin set in FDC condition from a dealer at what seemed an expensive price in 2018. I think that if I got the set graded I could probably now sell them for double the price.
