10g bars are a good size too
Sold at the wrong time….
i did not know how to spot a fake gold before i do now thank you.🤔🤗
I stick to what i can afford 10th ounce as the old saying goes its better to have some than none
1 oz straight up !!!
😂😂😂😂
My next sovereign.
Barter..gold...when currency isn't worth anything...when SHTF!
It hit £1745-10 today 28th March 2024. 🎉🎉
Ive bought 200 gs of silver and have about 25.5g of gold. Still wanting 8oz of gold by winter of 2024. Industry needs gold now more than ever
why are u whispering? maybe speak loudly
I feel like the smaller Bars would be more useful in a crisis. Especially for things like gas and groceries.
After the US Mint abandoned the most beautiful and popular silver coin design of all time, I stopped buying Eagles. Why? 2 reasons. The Type 2 design is a huge disappointment, with the clipped-wing bird replacing the noble full eagle. But more importantly, the LOSS OF DETAIL on the Type 2! Yes, loss of detail. It's almost as if all the very fine lines on Lady Liberty got "washed-out"! Everywhere from the stripes on the gown, the folds on the blouse, the hair, the cap and the stars on the flag. A real downgrade! "Pay more for less"! So I forsake the high priced, low-quality ASE and started buying Canadian Maples, Philharmonics, Krugerrands and Britannia's. The Security features are amazing, the coins are beautiful and the detail is EXACT! A good bet!
Sovereign half or full is common option too
For smaller emergencies, would it not be better to possibly liquidate a little silver or make sure to have a cash emergency fund?
With all the counterfeits out there I test all of my gold I figure at some point someone is going to take it out of its package.
At the prices gold is now, it is harder to stack by the ounce. Fractionals make it easier for me as well. Tenths and quarter ounce are my favorites.
My late bf gave me a ring 24k gold 4.3 that time it was just worth 100$ when he bought it way back in 2001, now if i will pawn it , i can get it for 400$ after 23 yrs. I still have the ring. May he rest in peace.
I think having a mixture and what suits your budget.
Do you recommend money metal I just bought my first 1/2 gram an will continue to purchase n the near future what’s your though on that company?
U a thief of your own wallet man no disrespect but u pay way more if u stack the little gram bars stack cash first and buy minimum 10 grams
Hard facts and solid advice 👍
Are the Pamp bars usually smaller in size versus the RCM bars? I got two oz of each and was shocked when comparing the size of both 1 oz bars that appear to be the same thickness, why is the Pamp 1 oz looking half the size of the RCM 1 oz bar? Ordered them all from Costco , could Costco sell fakes in this case or it it normal for them to look much smaller then other 1 oz bar brands?
Nice to see you back
By definition, any socities currency will always be its most liquid asset. It will always be the most widely accepted trade mechanism in most situations. That being said, retail precious metals are not the best performing or most reasonably priced "investment" in many instances. Never buy at or near historic highs, that almost always works against you. As far as shipping before receiving payment, that really works both ways since we expect cash on the full trust of the buyer. There are equal risks either way. Buy the most metal you can at the lowest possible premiums. In the end, it all amounts to basically scrap and you should not expect much more when you go to sell. Don't expect much in the short term investing in metals. Retail metals markets nationwide (U.S.) continue going to $h1t regardless of what spot prices and internet doom and gloom sales shills try to convince you of. Major distributors and large retailers here are suspending buy offers on large silver bars and large quantities of .999 at the moment while SAE and 90% premiums are getting weaker. "We just don't want the stuff" according to a couple of large dealers, "The market is going to hell". Cash liquidity problems in silver while central bank gold acquisition reports are starting to be questioned. Non-convertability issues will insure that gold purchases under the guise of "backing" will do absolutely nothing to save fiat currencies in the long run. Keep your powder dry going into recession and times of potential liquidity issues and hold on for inevitable bargains....... F.W.I.W.
Cash is king gold isn’t
New subscriber here. Awesome video!
many thanks
You bought small pieces of gold with crazy premium. Or Gold coins with to much Premium. Look for older coins on sale.
Thanks but the older the Gold doesn't make it cheaper, more likely more expensive.
I think you have alot of truth at the end half of the vid. Bullions just bullions. The dealers and abuyers are gunna want to buy at the lowest. Regular joes who need to sell never get the profit only the dealers haha.
"Sold so much silver" Sells like 140 ounces. That's not much at all. bought most of my gold in 2001 for under $300 an ounce.
dealers are the biggest scum bags i dealt with this jewish guy bought thousands off him for years thought i built a good relationship price doubled in like 2 years i go back to sell 500 oz of silver and he would not even buy one bar back saying he didnt have any money next day price drops like 5 bucks he calls me saying he would buy 2 dishonest people
Back in 2011 I had to travel to London. I decided to bring some sovereigns and find out how easy/hard it would be to convert gold to cash in a foreign country. I took two sovereigns to two different dealers which were walking distance from my hotel. I knew from using Kitco the gold value in GBP of each coin. One dealer paid me 99% and the other paid 100% of melt for the two coins. I was paid in cash and I only had to show my Canadian drivers license. Both dealers asked me for more and suggested I could ship the coins from Canada. I was amazed with the ease of the transactions and the value I received. I should point out though that in 2011 gold prices were peaking and demand for retail level coins was very high. Also in England , sovereigns are accorded favourable tax treatment and are more desirable for savers. Perhaps it was just good timing but it was very reassuring . I should point out that I am a full time precious metals dealer (since 2004) and my shop usually pays a premium for gold and silver coins we can resell. The only coins we pay below melt on are damaged or karat gold (less than 24k) that we cannot resell and go to the refinery. We rarely pay full melt on wafers or larger gold bars but generally pay a premium on smaller silver bars up to 100oz depending on our inventory. Our volumes are high enough that we turn over 24K coins fairly quickly and make our profits on the sales premiums.
I have a reliable dealer in Hattan Garden. London that I have used many times. Go that route and no problems.
If you are selling gold because you are short on cash, than its a clue that maybe you bought too much gold. You put yourself in a bind and you had to sell some gold. If you did not need the cash you might not have sold the gold. Be more prudent with your allocations.
Thank you for your advice. Its not that I needed the cash but decided to take some off the table while near the peak of the cycle. I felt I had too much cash tied up in precious metals and this was good timing.
@@TangibleLife My view is that we are pointed in the direction of hyperinflation. Find a happy medium for your gold stack. Keep a generous amount of cash tucked away along side your core gold hoard. The cash will be there to tide you over for any short term needs. Quit worrying about the day to day value of your core gold holdings which are there to get you started in life once hyperinflation passes. Gold is your insurance against disaster.
Wow 10% under! Not like that in the States!
man i love your content you talk sooo much sense no bullshit like other stacking channels
Holy spit it out. I can't understand your complaint to be honest. Everyone wants a deal in every transaction. That's not gold specific. Welcome to the world of business. Complaining about it will change nothing. I do agree on avoiding collector nonsense. I have a bunch of it I paid bullion price for
Wanting a deal is fine, but taking the p$ss with silly offers is not acceptable
By the way... Backyard Bullion offer a good selling service, not sure if you considered that !??
Interesting - what commission do they take? Thanks.
@@TangibleLife its only a few % I think and sells quick.
@TangibleLife the fees would be £25 for a 1 oz gold and £8.50 per sovereign. Not sure about 1/10th oz coins but its not too bad.
Great video, some good point there 👍🏽 The battle between collecting and stacking is real !! I try to have a foundation of bullion to liquidate first if I need some funds. Collectibles is for fun and the long term. My humble opinion 😌
Many thanks
29:48 Brilliant TL good to see you back. Rant on my friend.
I love a rant!
I perfectly understand those cons you mention, especially when the time comes to sell. That said, IMO the pros in holding PM outweigh those cons.
Yes I think they do long term. Its just that little niggle at the end when it comes to sell - dealing with people that can be frustrating.
Thats why we have to keep cash moving and using it.
Gold confused me. You are buying gold and paying a premium on the gold so you basically lose money instantly ? Because if you want to sell it back you won’t get ur money back ?
you will gt it back in time, and if you don't have to sell it under spot price in a hurry - think 5 years hold time
yes, you lose instantly, and if you wait to sell, you still lose because so many other investments go up faster than gold
Newbie here. What do they mean when they prefer 'Sovereigns'? From what I understand, they mean that they're backed by the government. But a lot of people refer them as sizes.. What sizes are sovereigns? 1g, 2g, 2.5g 5g, 10g, 20g, 30g, 50g, 100g, 1/20oz, 1/10oz, 1/4oz, 1/2oz, 1oz, etc..
Doesn't the premium kind of not matter since you can sell it with the premium included? ie. Let's say you bought a fractional with 5% premium, can't I sell it with market price at 5%? I am new which is why I am curious
HI! I need advice, what's the best amount of gold to keep for starters?
Tough call, depends on your personal finances. 1/10 ounce is one of my favourite. A decent amount of gold but affordable
hi what app are you using to check the gold mate ?
I bought my first 5 grams 😅
Its bee awhile, Hope all is going well with stacking
You touch the packages so much they're talking apart
I bought 2 one gram gold bars as that is what I could afford but I also buy silver, mostly junk silver.
When the silver goes up a decent amount I sell it and buy Gold.
@@TangibleLife you pay a premium twice, it is very silly
Hi just wanted to say excellent content been watching you since you started off! Could you possible make more videos on Pokémon cards and where to start? I’ve been truly inspired by your video but I don’t really have an idea where to start? The end goal is obviously for them to be worth something in the future. 😌
Thanks. I will try very soon. Be very careful what you buy at the moment regarding Pokemon. I think the bubble may begin to pop in then next few months as people are struggling and you could pick up some bargains. Take this PSA 10 Charizard it was over £300 now they have come down to £200 ish I'm not an expert on Pokemon. But I would only buy the rarest at PSA 10.
@@TangibleLife wow really? I mean times are hard but I thought Pokémon was a bit more universal so I didn’t think it would suffer. Would you recommend picking up odd few pack of cards here and there from the local supermarkets? Or is that just pointless and a one way ticket to losing money?
