I love that you don't cut out deaths and failures.
It's okay to fail, pick yourself up and try again!
Good starter guide with clear simple goals for new players
hours of hours to finish a house for a stupid big dino destory it
Awesome video mate! I've watched a whole heap of beginner vids and your vid was so much more helpful and entertaining. Keep up the good work. Cheers
Awesome vod, bro! Very helpful without all the B.S. that almost everyone else does. Thanks
Glad you liked it Cdubb!
This is easily the best starter guide for this game i have seen. Thanks!!
Wow great job. Ark has changed so much since when it first came out.
Thanks 😇 It can be tough to survive that first night!
One of the best intros for beginners ive seen. Great stuff!
Glad you think so Bacon!
Great video. I didn't know about the Raptor trap before so I've learned something new!
Thanks DruncanUK! I sure do love trap taming, but Bola’s are the best!
Well done. Could use a little more info about where to get chitin, but otherwise really thorough. If the game had a tutorial, this would be it.
My favorite quote: "Probably gonna die here. Gonna hafta live with that reality; I am delicious." 😁
Thank You SnoGryphon! I appreciate the feedback. I really had a lot of debate about what I felt was true beginner friendly information. I believe in making videos as long as they need to be and no longer. I had an entire section on the value of killing Trilobite when possible as they are an easy source of early (Chitin, Keratin, or Shell Fragment) and the Carbonemys (Turtles) if you are careful. However, The Pteranodon Saddle requires level 38 and Chitin Armor requires level 37. I decided that was a little beyond the true beginner. Cementing paste is nice to start making as it's needed for Metal Tier. Again that feels like moving beyond the true beginner range of progression. I decided I had shared enough guidance to open the door for adventure. I think over explaining can ruin some of the joy and I didn't want to lose the space to explore.
This video was reallu informative really good
Great guide mate.
I might be wrong because I haven’t played yet, but since the new water system is wireless, wouldn’t that mean you don’t necessarily need a tap for the crop plots as long as you’re within the intake range?
I tested this on stream today and I didn't need a tap for my crops that where inside the water intake range. If the tap get's changed again... I still think it's good for a Complete Beginner to understand the building blocks and how to have drinkable water in a base!
Keep up the work bro fr!
Thanks DavidSanchez!
Survive the night ✔️
Survive the day ✖️✖️✖️✖️
Haha positive progress at least S1ipperyJim!
really good vid, deserve more views!
I'm glad you think so!
Would be nice if you'd say WHY you chose any of those settings in the beginning instead of just "choose hard. Turn this on. turn this off. use these #'s as your settings. They're good." Without a reason as to why those decisions matter, how do you know that every single person watching this video is going to have the exact same needs as you?
This guide is designed for beginners. It's about getting into ARK and starting a new adventure. Nothing worse than loading up an exciting new fun dino game and getting bogged down with minutiae. The settings could easily be a full hour video to properly detail them all completely. I believe in making videos as long as they need to be and no longer. The ARK setting are very counter intuitive.
Example: If you set the Difficult to "easy" you will make the game harder. The difficulty is directly tied to the level cap for creatures. You eventually benefit from higher level spawns to properly breed and prepare to fight the bosses. By changing things to 'easy" instead of "hard" you cap the creature spawns at a lower level preventing true mid to late game progression. A level 20 raptor will kill you the same as a level 150 during the initial survival journey. By forcing low level spawns you get less resources (like XP) as you are stuck killing lower level wilds as you've failed to turn on "hard" to allow higher level to spawn.
The why is simple. Because he said so😊
Anyone else having issues with there radial menu like not being able to access Dino behavior or harvest settings and things like that?
I’ve not had an above normal amount of issues with ARK Radial menu.
I figured it out I didn't realize you have to hit r2 now to select certain things in the menu
Can I just change the difficulty to high and leave every other setting alone or is that not ideal? I’m already level 90 but honestly I still got no idea what I’m doing. Right now I’m in the snow biome collecting pelt for Idek what reason. I already got the fur armor and stuff.
Sounds like you might benefit from hunting Alpha Creatures & collecting the Artifacts to start challenging the bosses. Hope that helps!
Good video 🔥
Thank you GTAbossxx 😇
Unchecking the framerate lock isnt a good idea, it keeps your pc from using more resources than needed
Higher FrameRate provides smoother and more responsive gameplay.
@@VaddGuides you don't need more than 60 max.you'll need the pixels unless you're used to playing mindcraft in superslowmo. of course it doesn't apply if you're rich
If it didn't "need" it, it wouldn't use it.
@@unknownunknown-ni1ns this just shows that you don't know how a computer works.
The raptors are so fast 😖
And, hungry!
playin this game on shrooms is crazyyy
ARK's current description is pretty wild: "Stranded on the shores of a mysterious island, you must learn to survive. Use your cunning to kill or tame the primeval creatures roaming the land, and encounter other players to survive, dominate... and escape!"
Hi, am not able to catch all you said, little bit to fast in your explanations
You can adjust the play speed on RUclips. It currently allows for slower and faster playback.
Reply is funny..... Better than saying, try listening harder xD
Thank you for skipping over the seemingly obligatory 15 minutes of talking about how it's, "Like Ark Survival Evolved, but not like Ark Survival Ark at all!"
Hi Professorator! I’m glad this resonated with you 😇
WorseBest Guide ever!!!
😇🙏🏼
I uninstalled the fourth time the raptors killed me trying to get back to my dead body… the progression scaling in this game is awful!!
The Raptors have no chill! Jeff I hope your next gaming session goes great 😇 in whatever title you choose.
@@VaddGuides 3 hours of gameplay so I could not refund the game on steam.. maybe I’ll give it another try with your game setting suggestions. Tired of Palworld crashing every hour anyways 🤷♂️
Step one. Uninstall
Zach I’ve had a lot of good experiences with the property. I’ll concede that over time I’ve experience continued and renewed disappointed as I encounter more facts that this IP is less good than I initially believed. I’m seeing a continued shift toward increasing customer lifetime value over customer enjoyment and quality experience.
It seems like the decision to release into the various game subscription services just after launch was another greedy slap in the face. Assuming, you have a super computer, don’t mind pay to win mechanics, and can stomach the bugs: It’s not currently the worst Dino Sandbox Survival game on the market.
