Brady's ego didn't get in his way. he was perfectly willing to stay with the Patriots, but Belichick made it clear he didn't want Brady around. It was Brady who kept the good players around, and took salary cuts to pay them. Players were willing to play for Belichick because of Brady.

He took a BOTTOM of the basement deal for 2 years at 25 mill each year when (from Tampa Bay) Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodger ( 2 bums in comparison) were making 45 mill a year. Yeah... BeliDork had all of you fools fooled. Not only did he push Brady out. If you had half a brain you would have come to the next conclusion. He pushed him out FOR Cam Newton. You guys are such numbnuts. think of this.. i called weei once to unpack this and even they were taken a back.... If tom had never left, he would have never won or even sniffed at another ring... him leaving allowed him to stop mahomes one more time.. "the baby goat" was set and ready for take off into NFL stratosphere if he had gone back to back, and Brady, once again like Mahomes kryptonite he is, stopped his pursuit one more time, with a brand new team, that was ranked one of the worst just a year prior... they won doing it Toms way.. what he needed and wanted, Bruce was a place holder.. a fun one, but just a figure head.. Tom was running fucking everything... they wanted him to... Like i said, i hate that brady didnt play out his career here, but him leaving allowed him to set a few more real GOAT records, undeniably establish his legend, and stick it to the PATIROTS of all people!!! its a story that couldnt have been written better and its no better fitting than to be the story of, Tom Brady.... we as pats fans should be so grateful and gracious to have watched it unfold, over 20+ years with toothpicks and microscopes, we got to romanticize and fawn over our beloved, hansom, godlike, PERFECT HUMAN, my idol... It's always seemed pretty clear to me that the conflicts were between Kraft and Belichick, so Tom leaving mostly freed him from drama, while Bill got to keep the drama, and had to teach some new kid how to lead a team. It's impossible to win in this league without a good QB, and as the draft teaches us every year, as it taught us with Tom Brady, scouting is basically a crap shoot, and no one is good at evaluating who will take to the NFL grind, and who wont, especially under center.

Evidence by the fact he gave Bledsoe the highest contract in the history of the game at that in the off season. If it wasn't for Mo Lewis BeliDork is fired within another season. He would have NEVER played Brady. Belidork is not the person for the drafting of Tom Brady. His qb coach at the time begged him to. With his 9th pick of the day, a throwaway pick, he did so to please Dick Rehbein, who would die a year later. Then BeliChump wanted to get rid of Brady after the 1st three SB's by not offering him a contract (tte same way hi did it in the end). But Kraft went around him and did the deal.
