Best Golf Grip and Why

- Overlap, Interlock or Ten-finger? Have you ever wondered what is the best golf grip? In this video I will discuss the hands and how they are actually clamps on the golf club that must be oriented so that the wrists can work correctly.
Moe Norman used and overlapping grip for the majority of his career until 1994 when he began working with Natural Golf. There wasn't much of a difference between Moe's Overlapping position and his 10-finger position because his hands were oriented correctly with both of these variations.
Man
You are the greatest no nonsense teacher laying out the physics of it
So grateful 😎👍
Hey Todd, I am a 70 year old AVID golfer who has struggled breaking 80 foever. When I first heard about Moe I tried it and just couldn’t understand it well enough so went back to my reg swing. When I decovered you on RUclips I tried again! I totally got it then. Went to work on it every day for about six weeks playing with my normal swing but practicing the Moe Norman swing. Went to the course yesterday to try my new swing. Shot 78 and felt the most confidence ever!! I’m sold and have you to thank for it
THANK YOU!!
Jack. Great to hear. Thanks for the message!
thanks, Todd,, I am one who has to have a ten finger grip, due to nerve damage in the left hand, ( 15yrs).
and yes your right , I feel my right hand drops a bit,, it also causes me to feel like my shoulder drops or i'm open to the target just a smidgen more..
10 finger is harder but I'm having more success with solid contact lately.. cheers
Thanks Todd I've only practiced the single plane once and implemented it this past Sunday and hit the ball the longest and straightest ever and still have a lot to learn. Thanks!
Youre welcome.
Best instructions for the game ive seen,
I also learned, never go play, if your not gonna have fun, regardless.
What a fabulous demo covering the grip, Many thanks Todd!!!
"Full range of motion" concept for lead hand placement. Outstanding piece of information. TY Todd (and Moe.)
You can’t say these basics enough for me! Thanks for great explanations!
Glad to help!
Thanks Todd. Thanks for clarifying that for all of us. I always thought I should be playing 10 finger but always got better results with overlap. Always switching back and forth. Now I'll stick to overlap bc your reasoning is solid. Cheers
Thanks Todd! Six months since back surgery and ready for my first game tomorrow!
Todd....just awesome stuff. Brilliant description. I'm using it all and watching my extreme slice go bombardier straight! Thank you brother!!
Thanks for your vidéos, i am a 6 handicap , watch your vidéo and gave it a try the next day and shot an even par 68 , that swing is a game changer. Looking foreward to keep practicing that swing, thank you for sharing that precious content !
I feel like this channel and your tips have helped me improve tremendously. Hats off to Moe and you for teaching his amazing techniques.
Great to hear!
I felt my grip was off for quite a while. Watched this video again and realized I was too much in the palm with the lead hand and my trail hand wasn't skipping the rock. What a difference at the range and on the course! I'm straighter and longer. Thanks.
Thank you. After years of holding it wrong, I tried Moe's 10 finger grip. It freed up my hands and let me generate more club speed. Now I am going to try to do it with the overlapping grip. I have always been an interlocking grip. I also noticed that I tend to hit the ball shorter than expected with the 10 finger grip...but it goes straighter.
Are you back to interlocking?
Thanks for this clarification. I was zeroing in on Moe’s 10 finger position, which he used later in his career, and thought that was part of the single plane swing template, but you obviously don’t think that should be taught at all. Got it💡
I will add, excellent way to describe the various grips.very clear.
Glad it was helpful!
So many things good about this swing:
1. Head barely moves both in the x and y axis throughout the swing all the way to impact
2. Pelvis significantly more open than shoulders at impact.
3. Hands at or slightly ahead of the club head at impact.
4. Spine tilt away from target at impact.
5. Forward spine tilt maintained or increased throughout swing. Even after impact still holds this angle as long as possible.
6. Head behind the ball at impact.
7. Excellent foot work. No weird spinning out or feet literally off the ground like we see on tour today.
8. Holds follow though like a champ
I'd sure hate to play closes to the pin with Todd over a round of golf.
Excellent clear instruction through all your videos. The explanations are concise and easy to grasp. I am an experienced golfer of nearly 50 years and engaging your golf swing to great effect as it is less stressful on my aching back and knees. I shot level Par this weekend in a big comp so thanks Todd :-)
Priceless: This Man knows his stuff.
Thank You so much for this Todd.
We need your school down here in Australia!
I'd love to come back to Australia. Lets set it up...seriously.
@@ToddGravesGolf I'd be down for that if you made it out here
We need him in The Netherlands aswell..!!
definitely one of the best golf advice videos...
Glad you enjoyed it
Great stuff with lots of demo examples not so much talking. Love the demo . Thanks
Golden moment, thank you for the reminder, the hands just hold on to the club, the hands don't do anything else your swing and body motion and grip releases the club or wrists. I think this is the most important key in any swing. After I tried it I realized this is it, this is how I was swinging when I made my best swings. If you can get the feel of your hands just holding the club and your swing releases your wrists, then a lot of compensations and swing thoughts or position thoughts go away, and you can whip the club thru faster and hit solid shots. this even works on chipping and pitching, it will help bring your easy accurate 60 yard pitch on the driving range to the golf course. thanks for this video
Superior explanation of grip..grateful 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you Todd, I was gripping it incorrectly and I think this is going to stop me over correcting next time I’m down the range. Really appreciate your videos!
Another great teaching. I have always had a issue of rotating my right hand, causing a hook. I don't do it always. Trevino says you have hitters and flickers. I guess I was always a flicker, throwing the hands into the hit. Hard to get out of. Is there a drill to keep the right hand from rolling over. I have been rotating my right hand more on top of the club so it can't rotate, I think Trevino did that. It has helped, but it is out of position.
The rotation of the trail hand must match the rotation of the body. When I feel the trail hand in position from the top of the backswing, When I make the downing, I feel it under (skipping) as my body turns. when my body gets to impact, the hand stays underneath where the heel of the club can lead the club into impact. This is what Moe was talking about when he said the "Heel always leads the Toe". If the hands lead and the heel leads, you won't hook. Trevino was a master at this.
@@ToddGravesGolf Todd, you are so great at explaining and illustrating your concepts. Thank you so much. I love to listen to Trevino's stories he tells. When he got struck by lighting. He said the week before God couldn't hit a 1 iron, but he said afterwards He had no problem hitting a little mexican. Too funny.
@@raybowles8587 Lol. That is really funny.
excellent explanation thanks Todd ...really enjoying learning the one plane swing
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow ok this is the best video ever. If that club is not in your hand properly you will not be able to get it in the right position in the back swing and then be able to release the club. That is so hard to do. But when you get it right - wow it feels so good. I want lessons lol please come visit Long Island. If you do, I have beautiful water front rental property. Come out in the fall or spring. You just give me some lessons and you can stay at one of the houses. lol
Thanks Todd, One thing I found very interesting is that you mount your lead hand after you set your spine tilt. I have Graves grips and have always set my lead hand standing up and facing down the line with my club pointing at the target. What your saying makes sense because you can insure that your hand and and club face are square to the target line.
yes. Tilt first. then set hands.
Love your videos and school. Did I hear Mr. Norman say he threw the club back and inside with his left hand the let it drop and pull/tug it horizontally with his left hand ? Maybe as he got older it was easier to keep control with a ten finger grip. I am seventy and am feeling a bit less control with an overlap grip. With either grip every few shots the grip somehow fails me and the shaft gets ahead of me and I get a hook. That is purely my fault and unless I put my hands in a plaster cast , losing even more distance, no golf teacher can fix that. Love your work. Sadly had back surgery after attending golf school on Arizona and just got back to swinging a club. That said, thanks very much because I played a dozen or two round a year for forty years shooting 110 ish. This year at seventy have played over twenty rounds since the snow went and have only had two or three rounds over 100 and have broken 90 three times. Thanks little Moe! Your work to recognize the genius of Mr. Norman is gratifying. I have several patients who actually played with him and was shown a tree near Niagara Falls with a Y in it. Mr. Norman would shoot balls through the Y at about 200 yards when he was out there visiting! Your swing does not bother my back.
Todd, on a 70 year old golfer, just started playing golf again after a three-year layoff. I was at the range yesterday hitting some balls straight and others with a high fade. Could you give me some instruction on why I was hitting the high fade possibly myself is the club was not square a contact, but you might have some other corrections. I have enjoyed your videos and they help me make better contact with them all. Thank you very much.
Hi Todd, I/we are told to have the V on your hands created by your thumb and forefinger should point towards your right shoulder in which you showed us in this video But if this video is related to Moe's swing, then if you look at the footage of Moe gripping the club before swinging - his left V is pointing towards his left shoulder! I tried this grip out today and it was amazing results!
alan carlyon The V of my left hand is not pointing to my right shoulder ever. And I don’t say that in the video. I said that my lead hand after my tilt is rotated to the target in full range.
Moe’s alignment and placing club along lifeline in trailing hand is awkward. But it’s placement is a physical sensation that knows your positioning is correct. Locks the lever and sets the pendulum to be repetitive and straight. Maximizes power and compression at impact.
I'm about 6 weeks and 13 rounds into single plane. I'm still pitching and chipping by feel they way I always have, but every other shot outside of 60 yards has been single plane. I have had the oddest pattern of 90-95 on friday and then 78-85 on saturday. I have this whole time been interlocking, and just came across this video. I am going to try overlap this friday and see how it goes. Scares the crap out of me lol
Fantastic all makes sense to me. No more interlocking.
Update: now over lapping, followed the video
And now that little sucker goes straight most times. Thanks again.
Great instructor
Hey Todd, what size grips should I be using because when I was a natural golfer,
we were shown to use oversize grips along with a ten finger Grip ?
Great video and channel ty so much. Is your lead hand thumb actually going straight down the center of the grip? I see a lot of people where there thumb is just riding along the side of the grip on the trail hand side. I’m just curious because I really like your explanation of the grip and I’d like to go try it out at the range.
The only argument I have with your trail hand explanation has to do with the shape of the rock you are trying to skip. Flat rocks skip much better than spherical ones. Otherwise, thank you for a simple , understandable explanation. Taking the lead hand grip after the tilt, and the trail hand more underneath forces a simple "set" at the top that requires no checking.
1 year later I'm still learning and slowly improving. My comment on the rock skipping seems silly now because I realize it just describes the thumb/forefinger position as being necessary for an unimpeded release. I still like your videos as entertainment as well as information. thanks.
Your the teacher Todd, so please excuse me in asking some questions here - I notice that you hold the club in your left hand which sits on the highest/thickest part of the grip? To me that would weaken the clamp! In one of Moe's video's he said that his right hand was only on the grip for the ride, in this video you show us in how to skim a rock with the use of the right hand? I am confused with skimming a stone with the right hand in my golf swing, as I do a lot of that on the loch near my home! In my golf swing I take away with the left shoulder and left arm/hand and follow through with them also. In my old swing I held the grip of my club/s in my fingers. In one of Moe's video's he talked about his grip like he was holding a tennis racket or a hammer!
Life can be easy if one knows the answers - we watched you gripping the club with your left hand and then the right hand
But I am sure it would be more beneficial if you could open your hand/s to the camera so we could see where on the hands Moe placed the grip to execute his one plane swing? I hope these questions help you Todd in getting the best results from those you are teaching, me being one of them! I love your video's, but this one is so confusing unless you know the answers! I want all the pieces of this puzzle to help me become a better striker of the golf ball! Thanks Todd/Moe!
Todd love all of your videos, 👍🏻great work much appreciated
Could you explain how Moe used to practice for hours with a coin on the ground behind him, where would he place the coin?
Also another question how would single length irons help or hinder with the single plane swing?
Thanks Ian
Take a look at this video: ruclips.net/video/khEvFrW2sx4/видео.html
Hey I love the videos can you explain the wrist hinge in the single plane swing?
You need to play this a few times / there are so many points / reasons why explained simply. As a 71 year old have problems with a v wide swing./ Todd would like you to find one of your less flexible oldies and do a video / looking at and resolving their problems
I'm a natural single plane golfer iv tried two plane to look as they say normal lol but no success only issue I feel I have it apex. And advice on getting the flight lower with single plane I have the book also it awesome.
I have tried to use the overlap grip. It just feels so "weak". i do strike the ball pretty well interlocked and have been working on Ten-finger since i started watching Mo's videos and seem to be getting more conisistent. I'm just now making the switch to the single plane swing and it too seems to be adding consistency.
When Bryson Dechambeau talks about the grip he pinpoints the importance of keeping the club in the middle of the hand of the lead hand. If I understood you correctly in this video you say under the "pad". Is this correct and what difference does it make?
Hi Todd, Can I ask how do you tilt your body properly? is that just the bend from the spine or is the pelvis tilted sideways, shifted a bit (while maintaining straight spine) or is that something else? I feel like I also have similiat problem to Chandler that the tilt is kind of mixed up with a turn too. Do you have a checklist on where the shoulder, hip and feet should be pointing if the tilt is done correctly? Thank you so much beforehand
Hey Todd just wondered if you have ever won any professional tournaments using the one plane swing? If so, what tournaments were they?
Nice! Thanks Todd
How does the skipping movement fit with producing speed by using the lead side during start of the downswing/at transition? Is that simply later (at moment of impact or even later/release)?
Please make videos about short irons using single plane golf.
I overlap like you say. Have good control with my hits. My friend said I should try the 10 finger, But i don't see the benefit?
Merci pour votre vidéo, j'aime beaucoup la particularité du swing de Monsieur Moe Norman que vous enseignez. Désolé, je ne comprends pas l'anglais!
Parlez vous en français? Agréable journée.
There is a reason older golfers must use the ten finger grip. Osteoarthritis of the hands -and wrists. I played 50 years with Varden grip. Now, at 68 with very painful hands, wrists and elbows I do whatever keeps me able to swing...10 finger makes up for some of my lost strength and flexibility.
Have you ever used a ‘double overlap’? That is two fingers from the trail hand on the lead hand. I’ve played with it in the past, and it is pretty comfortable and appears to allow the wrists to work together more easily. Your thoughts?
Jim furyk does a double overlap, thats about it.
Something else maybe you can set me straight on...When I swing the club I always have my wrists in a locked position at impact, then release it . To me it feels more solid when I hit the ball. What I have noticed using this new swing and grip is that it feels like I am "throwing" the club head at the ball....kind of like the old sidearm fast ball. Which is best?
So on the lead hand. Is there a lot of grip pressure in the last 3 fingers or is it still a very relaxed grip...(barely securing the club)
Thanks Todd.. now I have to give up my interlocking grip.. 😒
Really. Nicklaus didn’t!
Forgive me for asking and I know you have countless vlogs on the tilt and grip but the more I watch your videos the more I've confused myself..I regard my self as having good foundations to the one plane swing but now can not understand the logic in tilting the body then rotating the wrist to get a neutral position..can this position not be achieved standing upright, gripping neutral then tilting?.. Is this not the same?!.. I love watching your vlogs and find them full of useful tips..But I think I maybe getting too technical with this element of the one plane swing!
Many thanks Todd.
Great vlog Todd , brilliant detail , could I ask , what clubs and shaft do you use , thank you jules uk ...
I am hitting Callaway Rogue Pro Irons, 110g steelfiber graphite, 9.0 deg, sub zero epic flash driver, Ping 52 gap wedge, Callaway PM grind 54,58 wedges, Ping 3 Wood. More detail when I look at my bag since I am telling you this without looking at the clubs. I use a long 46 inch Scotty Cameron putter.
@@ToddGravesGolf thank you Todd, great set of clubs , I've just found your site , I'm playing off 1 handicap , but I havnt been consistent, so yesterday I found your site and saved the grip set up and fundamental s , and today I went up my golf club and practiced all day , I'm only trying the wedges and 9 iron and yes I've got along way to go , but I am loving the results already, I cant hit the ball right so it's taking the whole of the right side out of the course where all the trouble is on approach shots , will practice all day tomorrow on my wedge game again , then sunday I have a competition, but will only use the single plane on wedges because that's all I've practice , cant ty enough for all the great vlogs you've put on here .. kind regards julian Hughes
With such spine tilt and orienting the club behind the ball, how does this swing pattern not hit it fat and how does it get decent 'hands ahead compression' at impact?
First time I understood the mechanics of grip.
I’m 5 foot 1 and have small hands that’s why I use the interlocking grip. When I try to use the overlapping I feel like I’m going to lose hold of the club.
People who have difficulty overlapping are doing it incorrectly.
Hi great explanation. What about turning the club? Cupped wrist? No?
I like the overlap better as you btw.
Is this better for an aching right shoulder. Must try this swing more.
Bryson de Chambeau is giving this a ride. I want to teach this to people in Sweden. But first practice it for myself
NO cupped wrist. Keep it simple.
@@ToddGravesGolf Thanks. That is very wise answer from you.
I feel lucky 🍀 to get your channel.
So the turn of the club head on the top of Backswing is just turned naturally?! Ok 👌
I have recently started this and it feels successfully more fun. Not quitting golf now I guess 🌼
@@jonasbertilbellander if the Cluface is parallel to the back of the lead hand at address, and the arm rotates in the backswing, the club face will be correct at the top of the backswing.
That segment made perfect sense. Common sense trainer
Todd I’m a bit confused? Didn’t you always teach to grip the left hand before you tilted and attached the trail hand? Maybe I’m wrong on this. Could you please clarify. Thanks.
Tilt, lead arm / lead hand grip all related. I teach getting this relationship correct before right hand. Always.
At about 4.24 you say about 15 degrees of side tilt. I have seen a video where Moe's tilt was measured at 5 to 7 degrees. Can you comment on this difference, please.
Hi Todd, did Moe use the same grip for little chip shots around the green, have you done a video on chip shots before. Cheers
Same Grip for Chip Shots.
Hey Todd. I have small hands and feel like the interlocking grip gives me better control. Am I hindering my single plane golf progress with this grip vs overlap? Thanks and thanks for changing golf for the better sir.
Im not a fan of the interlock because it places the trail hand on top of the club. Can you try overlap?
@@ToddGravesGolf I will give overlap another try and try to make it work. If the Moe/Todd isn't broke, dont fix it. Thanks for all your help for avg joes like us.
Hi Todd,
Did Moe give a reason as to why he changed to a 10 finger grip later on in life??
10 finger aka 8 finger-2 thumbs grip does not make the club shorter wrt leverage. The leverage is between the lead wrist and the butt end of club. And you can apply more power to that lever with a lower trail hand - even a split grip. Think hockey slap shot.
Bob Mook a hockey stick doesn’t move faster than a golf club . So no your info is incorrect.and yes it does make the golf club (lever) Shorter. Hockey / Golf - apples and oranges.
@@ToddGravesGolf Doesn't matter which moves faster. A hockey stick, a golf club, and a broom - all examples of class 3 levers (speed multipliers). The fulcrum (butt end of grip) is at one end and the load (club head) is at the other with the force/effort (the trail hand) in between. To move a broom faster which would you do, move your effort hand down the handle or up close to your hand at the end of the handle?
This seems like the way you work the upper body, grip, etc would work with a traditional lower body movement. Am I wrong?
I would never teach conventional
@@ToddGravesGolf I understand that, nor would I expect you to. I’m just a 11 handicap asking for an unbiased answer from a very knowledgeable golf instructor. And I still don’t know the answer to my question 🤷🏽♂️😂
Do you have to adjust the lie of your clubs for the single plane swing? I ask because I noticed when I straighten my arms at address the toe of the club is up. Thanks Kevin
You need clubs that fit your swing. So yes.
Todd, would you speak to the position of the club face at address as it relates to the grip discussion. It looks like your club face is slightly open at address. Thx
As we get older we lose hand strength and hand arthritis sets in. The overlap grip becomes more difficult. Maybe that is why Moe changed to ten finger later in life? I have had to move to ten finger for these reasons, knowing I am losing distance. I have no choice.
Nothing wrong with 10 finger. You just have to understand that it 1) makes the club effectively Shorter 2) Can cause the wrists to become too far apart if done incorrectly. You must make sure you have a "correct" hand position if you use 10-finger. Also, I would suggest that most people who have trouble with the overlapping grip, have incorrect grip size or are doing it incorrectly.

@@okieshortriderz wow. You’re 15 minutes away from us. Email me at toddg@gravesgolf.com and let’s get you registered. The OKC schools this year are already filling.
Are you using the right index finger as a trigger finger and keeping the right wrist cocked back?
Not really. But I am using the index finger as if I was Skipping a rock.
Hi, does the trail hand position allow for more of a draw? It looks like a strong grip.
Thanks
Strong is a term not used here. The trail hand is in the perfect Non-rotational position to square the cluface - without rotating. The ball flys straight and does not promote a draw or fade. If you want to draw or fade you should adjust the path and not the face - keeping the trail hand in the perfect non rotational position as described in this video.
Nice
Do you consciously snap your wrists through impact or does the face square automatically? For me I have to snap.
I stop the upper arm shoulder in the swing and the club squares. It’s part of good positions of the body during swing I never consciously snap wrists.
@@ToddGravesGolf thanks, do you have a video that talks about this?
@@todd7706 Not Specifically. I discuss the "stopping of the body" and "braking system" which relate but I will put it on my schedule to shoot a specific video about it. Thanks for the questions.
@@ToddGravesGolfThanks!
I see over and over people commenting on distance. They are afraid of losing distance. First, I think Moe had plenty of distance. Sure looks like it to me. But I out distance nearly all the senior golfers I play with. But I don't beat all of them. Because the straight hitters are hard to beat. Straight will always win over a seasons time frame. Thats why I think people are so wrong who claim Moe could not win on the PGA tour. It had nothing to do with his golf ability. If that is not clear, then the person does not understand what Moe was dealing with.
All true!
Should it feel like the wrist wants to cup at the top of backswing but can't because the left hand is in a neutral position? Or does the left wrist have to be totally flat at the top, which feels unnatural?
Slightly cupped...but not rolled flat.
Thanks, again Todd!
I'd have to see this swing in person to judge for myself whether it's valid or not. Just doesn't seem like you can get enough distance in your shots with that action. But since I haven't seen it in person I can't say for sure. Just my own thoughts. I'm a scratch golfer with a square to square grip and pretty classic style swing. No brag, just fact.
I appreciate skepticism and asked the same questions. I’ve started implementing this method and am producing swing speeds similar to my regular swing speeds with a traditional swing (110-113mph). I did find that my speeds are much more consistent and it’s easier with this swing to reach back for a little more when I need it. Doing that with a traditional swing always seems to get me out of position. Just for reference I’m a 6.6 handicap index and play regularly. Good luck if you try this...it really does help a ton with hitting the ball solid! - Chris
Valid? Interesting. I’ve had three spinal surgeries (I think Tiger has maybe had four) and it lets me play without the contortion caused by trail hip rising and trail shoulder dipping in a “conventional” swing. Moe’s average driver was 280+ in his day, before the advent of great equipment improvements. It’s quite valid as it takes less toll on the body, makes it easier to have a consistent ball strike, and makes more sense from a bio-mechanics point of view. But if a guy likes his swing and is a “scratch golfer” I’d say do not change it. It’s awesome for me:)
I have watched this video twice and then went to the indoor range yesterday to practice. I'm left-handed and almost everything I hit was hooking to the right. The monitor indicated my club path was coming from the inside. Is my left hand too strong?
Rick Cudmore both hands too strong
My old fingers will not bend around enough to do an overlap without bending my finger so have to do an interlock. Any suggestions how I might make it work?
Can you grip 10 Finger rather than Overlap?
Yes, ten finger will work. Thank you.
So basically the skipping the rock trail hand is a “ Strong grip@ position?
Non-Rotational position. I don't like to use conventional terminology to describe the Single Plane Method ( if possible}.
Todd do you have issues with a reverse overlap
Haven't tried it much so I don't know if I have an opinion but it might be. Let me get back to you.
Can you live with the 10-finger grip for a man who has small hands and arthritis in his fingers?
Sure. It’s about the wrists. Make sure your clubs fit.
@@ToddGravesGolf Thank you. I already know they are none too short since I have lost height, but I'll make it a priority.
Todd, I notice in the video you are not wearing a glove. Is that for instructional purposes or you don't wear a glove when golfing? I don't think Moe Norman ever wore a golf? Again it's down to feel.
I have worn a glove in the past but most of the time I don’t wear one. For some reason I like the feel of the club without one. Also, my grips are larger than standard - and I think that most people who wear gloves are using grips that are too small and the club slips in their hands therefore they find a glove useful to help hold onto the club.
@@ToddGravesGolf when I was living in Nova Scotia we didn't have the humidity and therefore I didn't wear a glove. I had Golf Pride 2 midsize grips installed this year and noticed a difference. I should try playing without a glove now that the cooler temps have arrived and see how it feels.
I recently figured out with my right hand I had my thumb and forefinger kind of in a pinching of the grip position and as I did my backswing it got tighter and tighter and so those 2 fingers would make my club face go all over the place, the lead thumb shouldn’t sit on top of the grip correct? Just curious for your thoughts thanks!
My trail hand feels like it is skipping rocks.
Todd Graves is a pinching feeling good? Cause it seems to mess my club face up completely? I’m gonna try to get my trail hand on better where it’s more of a skipping rocks than pinching, thanks!
In reality is the left hand just a weak position?
Yesssssssssss
Awesome ive been holding it wrong the whole time
Glad it helped.
Sorry, but interlocking or overlapping...
What the ... ist the difference?
Thanks vor make me thinking.
Overlapping
I don't wear a glove either. Gets in my way.
No wonder many golfers stand to the ball and FREEZE due to all the mechanical thoughts needed to hit a shot. Clamping ??? the hands almost sounds like tension in the arms and arms which is a distance killer! I have seen many golfers with that tilt, chunk it every time instead of a follow through on to their front foot.
Tension in the arms a distance killer? I don't think so. Check out Bryson DeChambeau. I dont believe in relaxation - too much room for movement. Chunk the ball? Not because of tilt, but because of lack of turn.
Overlap is hard when you have small hands.. Im a ten finger guy
10-finger isn't terrible. Just make sure your hands are very close together and don't squeeze with the trail hand!
@@ToddGravesGolf .. Will do ! Thanks !!
I'm right handed and I don't have a pinky finger
Interlock= Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods. Hard to argue against that is it not?
Interlock is not good for a Single Plane Swing.
47 people interlock
