I used to run an Atarka deck. Tons of ramp, every Furnace of Rath effect I could include at the time, and a bunch of haste enablers so i could swing for lethal out of nowhere. I eventually retired the deck because it was TOO CONSISTENT, lol. She won me games in my playgroup so often that it became a challenge to play the deck and never cast her. The deck could still funtion no problem without her but was significantly less fun, but when I would go all in with Atarka the deck was super not fun for my friends to play against. Still, if you need a budget friendly deck that is super consistent Atarka's your girl.
Green decks with higher CMC commanders didn't need crypt absolutely. There's an argument for decks that aren't in white or green having getting hurt way more by this than the decks that are already good in cmndr.
Oh hey this is great, I picked up the Atarka precon for a buddy so he could play Commander and he never touched it after the first game because of how slow it was. I'll be putting this list together with what remains of that deck, cheers Suris :)
i have actually bought the precon and loved it and upgraded it mostly with cards from the baldurs gate set. Then i transformed it into a Miirym deck and now it has become an Ur-Dragon deck with still an okay price in relation to its power level in my playgroup
@villageflippinidiot , her lore and card's flavor spelled it out as plain as day in this case. That and she's one of my favorite characters from her respective lore, sue me.
I play Tiamat without any of the banned fast mana bullshit, people are just whining and claiming they were 'casual' to begin with leads me to believe these people would cry if you swung into their empty board when someone else has 1 more land and a 1/1 in play. No 'casual' deck would run Mana Crypt, Dockside or Jeweled Lotus like the fuck???
I literally do the same thing. These people who complain about these bans are usually the insufferable cunts who like to pub stomp new players and get mad when you actually target them.
"How can I play Atarka casually without two specific, non-casual mana rocks?" *Ignores the near limitless mana rocks you have access to at 3 mana and less.....*
So a couple of months ago, a friend of mine got me back into Magic with some casual EDH with friends and I'd borrow decks from him, and the one I had the most fun and wins with was in fact his modified version of the Atarka precon. So basically, this video is exactly what I was looking for in terms of building my own deck! I'm honestly shocked at how cheap the budget version was, seems very accessible! I did want to ask regarding the upgrades mentioned toward the end, do you have any suggested cuts from the original budget list, or even just a sample upgraded decklist?
Devil's advocate, Atarka does have green in it, so making a high curve atarka deck doesn't really disprove the sentiment that non-green big mana decks don't work without egregious fast mana. (This is my way of asking for a 15 dollar Brinelin deck)
Is it just me, or is Suris mic is a bit to harsh today? Feels like it "overdrives" a bit (might not be the best translation :X ) - never the less great video und deck idea. I certainly will consider building something similar.

Last year, they literally made a budget precon starter deck version of her.
🤦♂️
This is my second of your videos I've watched. You got my sub at the "apology" at the beginning. X'D

Miirym is better then UR dragon
There's so many Dragonborn cards in GR that are cheap Dragons in that set
Atarka is female just for the record.
Don't be that guy

Been playing commander for 3 years and I have never used dockside or mana crypt or even jeweled lotus

As a fellow casual Tiamat player I agree!

Shivan dragon in a deck is already a win for me!

How did any bans ever stop a casual deck
Atarka, my beloved
