Arin definitely had infinite card draw though. Flicker dockside to infinite treasures, then counter his own abilities to draw his deck out. Fun line for sure.
Sweet jesus Arin ascended this game.... genuinely immortal and all powerful
33:40 the best part, is by allowing the devil to resolve, Arin would just either lose the game, or they would be there forever. every time he pays to flicker using treasures, that puts 3 more mayhem devil triggers on the stack, going exponential as he attempts to counter them all!! if he ever stops flickering, he dies to ping damage, and wubby dies to decking himself.

I was freaking out when I saw Elenda, the Dusk Rose get played because she is one of my commanders, she's so good!

Stasis.
Mistake number 1 was putting jodah in a game, they fucked up stasis ruling, missed 3-4 Jodah triggers, misunderstood mayhem devil, still ended the game with infinite mana/card draw. Concept was kinda cool/funny the gameplay was a nightmare, probably b/c they were distracted by the gigantic towers of cards.

@@MCXL1140 Actually, the worst trigger he missed was the Mayhem Devil. When *anyone* sacs something, the Devil pings anything for one. So buy sacrificing 3 treasure to counter it, he was adding 3 more triggers to the stack. All around silly as hell a thing to miss, let alone the huge miss on Martyr's Bond.
@@Alico_Reborn This is why having a judge on set is such a benefit for a production like this. I mean the mistakes didn't ruin the ep by any means but also having a judge there to give some off-camera nudges/reminders would have brought so much more chaos and strategy back to this game.

34:00 every time Arin sacs treasures, Mayhem Devil should be getting additional pings, which requires additional counters, which requires additional pings
I mean at that point it really didn't matter since he could kill it in response or couldve countered it otherwise
At that point they've made so many errors it doesn't matter
they're literally playing with hardshells, I don't think they wanted to do every little thing they could to make it worse

Wubby sacs his treasurese triggering his enchantment, making everyone (who has em) also sac -> X mayhem pings on the stack.
Erin sacs another 3 to flicker Ertai. -> 3 pings.
Mayhem dies before any of the triggers resolve -> erin is now free to make infinite mana and counter every mayhem devil ping

11:00 that's not how Stasis works at all.
I knew when he said it that it had to be because of the old wording. This is why you check errata for old cards.
Old wording still lets the next untap (Arin's) happen. It is just saying Wubby doesn't get his.
If it said “You and the next 3 players skip their untap step” I can see why Wubby would take it as still needing to happen 3 more times after needing to sacrifice it. As-is, I think the effect stops once it is destroyed.
Or better wording would be, “Skip X untap steps, where X is equal to the number of players.”
My exact thought, I was like uhhh...nah you cheating my guy, the card isn't in effect anymore its off the field lol, that's some like 3rd week of playing kind of misunderstanding, wubbys been playin for how long? Cmon lol
I mean literally read the card, it says cards still do not untap until the next untap step, the next untap step is Arin's so he gets to untap. Seems like an unnecessary set of text unless phases were differently ordered in the past, the fact untap goes before upkeep means you don't even need that text.
The smoothness that Voxy just dropped "Many people have said that I have a perfectly average sized deck" it took a couple of seconds to register, and I shot coffee out of my nose laughing 😂
11:30 Wubby's just wrong about Stasis. lol not much more to say. Once it's gone the effect no longer applies.
I was going to mention this. Apparently the Revised Edition printing is the only time the card has that line.

Pretty sure there were a million mayhem devil triggers that were supposed to go on the stack from Arin sacking treasures. He could just deck Wubby by making him draw cards from countering every trigger.

@nightalife it'd be literally impossible for Arin to die, due to Ertai being able to just kill the devil with one trigger on the stack and infinitely flicker Ertai to counter the trigger resulting in Wubby decking out with only one damage trigger.
That was the most "fairly" played Jodah the Unifier deck I've seen. Arin is a benevolent gamer!

Stasis is a static effect, so it would not be active after you sacrificed it, allowing everyone to untap like normal after the turn you sacrificed it.
Yeah, the printing he has states that "cards still do not untap until the next untap phase" is referring to the owner of stasis, just stating that if you don't pay a blue to get rid of stasis you still don't get the untap.
@@thepieguyinthesky2363 Yeah which SHOULD be a given, because untap is before upkeep..... It could've drastically changed the outcome of the game if it was played right.

Good synergy and video content. Even through the clacking of all the plastic cards, I wish the audio quality with the players voices was in better quality.

I like how wubby can just choose what stasis does, and hide behind towers of money so no one can challenge.
There's no way that's how Stasis works. It's just there to say if you didn't pay the upkeep, you still miss your untap phase this turn. Conned them well though, Wubby.
