- In India, high speed trains have become synonymous with Rajdhanis and Shatabdis, and in the last 3 years, Durontos. This compilation attempts to go beyond these well-established high speed trains and documents furious displays of speeds from the lesser known trains in India. All of the trains featured in this documentary have their Maximum Permissible Speeds limited to 110 kmph (approximately 69 mph). However, they make up for the lack of speed vis-à-vis the Rajdhanis, Shatabdis, and Durontos through their sheer aggression, resulting in some high speed encounters.
This video is a compilation of the top 40 speedster encounters experienced by me over the past 4 years, covering 10 out of the 16 zones of Indian Railways. There has been a concerted effort in making this compilation as diverse as possible, in terms of locomotives featured, and region of capture. Thus, WAP4s from various sheds such as Howrah, Santragachhi, Erode, Bhusawal, Lallaguda, Royapuram, Mughal Sarai and Vadodara are featured. This is in addition to actions including WDM3As and WDM3Ds, WAP7s, WAM4s, WDP4s, and one each of WCAM3, WCAM2P, WCAM1, WDG3 and WDM2 locomotives. In chronological order of appearance in the video, the trains, the locomotives featured and location of capture are:
1. Chennai Mail with Santragachhi WAP4, Brahmapur-Palasa, Orissa.
2. Tiruchendur Chennai Egmore Express, Golden Rock WDM2, Chennai Egmore-Villupuram, Tamil Nadu.

The video is dedicated to all the loco-pilots and running staff of Indian Railways, whose wonderful handling of these trains make such compilations possible.

I love its speed I wish I have that speed
WOW~ Long trains. Why do some windows some windows have bars across them and others without?
Windows with bars is a non A/C coach (second class & third Class)
and Windows without bars is an A/C coach(first class - 2 tear, 3 tear etc.)
Massive running bysuperfast express
How do you identify train names?
Nice compilation!!!
Can you give suggestions on my videos so that I can improve in railfanning!!

mast
Nice compilation
Which software you used?
AREY DADA...DARUN TOH...
wow
the balls it must have taken to shoot all these #wow
I have always loved trains, but compared to those steam beauties, diesel and electric are sort of ho hum. Great job of editing and segueing, though. I see you love hanging around the door filming, as I do. But, my forte is Kerala whose beauty lends itself to the videos. The wind does a number on the microphone, unless you have an external mic which can be covered with foam or one of those models with a built-in wind filter. Good job. on the backbone of India, our railways.
Hi there.Nice video. I have been travelling in trains ever since i was a kid. I am sure most of us do. Now, how on earth can you make out the name of the express train that is passing by you in such high speeds?
So we mostly are expecting the trains to show up based on their schedules. So if the trains are on time, it is really quite simple to match them sequentially with the time table. Else, we look at the following combination: locomotive + rake link + timing + coach origin (i.e. which division coach belongs to - that is often hard to see). The combination of the first three a number of times is unique and can be used to identify trains. It is not a perfect science - I have been corrected a number of times by other rail enthusiasts but there is success at least 75-80% of occasions.
Not high speed but just exploiting d concept of relative velocity. No
Offence though !
Super..oooo...super...but one thing of my suggestion is...if you could post the time, date..preferably the place of travelling..that would have been better for the lovers of these trains & journeys...mano
AJ 7 SAAL BAAD AGAIN ES VIDEO KO DEKH RAHA HU
one question for you..
How do you identify the Train names,Loco Names with trains moving with such a speed in opposite direction??
So we mostly are expecting the trains to show up based on their schedules. So if the trains are on time, it is really quite simple to match them sequentially with the time table. Else, we look at the following combination: locomotive + rake link + timing + coach origin (i.e. which division coach belongs to - that is often hard to see). It is not a perfect science - I have been corrected a number of times by other rail enthusiasts but there is success at least 75-80% of occasions.
Thumps UP :)
+Rubin Roy Some of the trains we can identify with seeing its coaches..like duranto rainbow colours, rajdhani red n silver, garibrath green n yellow.
Indian railways the best
supee
just one question why do they big X's on the back of trains?
Colonial Hangover. If all other systems fail, at least X marks a stop for an incoming train from the rear.
cool back in my country we just have doors on he back of trains
Neon Tube Its not that uncomon. I think the Comuter train in UK have a simular marking with red en yellow. But i dont know if its for that exact reason.
It is to indicate the last car in a set of carraiges
its clever
one word: beutiful

Indian Railway should modernise the current railway track and its wagon and enhance the speed of express trains in the range of 150 Km per hour . Bullet train needs huge huge investment which should be given to private players if they wish and that's also for economically viable routes like delhi chandigarh, delhi kolkata via Kanpur Lucknow , Delhi mumbai via Ahmedabad, kolkata chennai via Hyderabad .. But bullet train is out of pocket for poors and rich people will prefer airways due to more time saving so price pairity is one of the key thing for its viability
According to a UK site, an average of 36 people a day in a 360 day year [trains shut down five days a year] are killed by trains in India. I can see why. I also saw another site that said 37 people were killed by an express at a remote station as they crossed the tracks. As a former brakeman almost a half century ago, you just didn't want to stand that near a passing train.
Those are very long passenger trains. The passenger trains in the US are much shorter.
You sure have some pretty long passenger Trains in India at least 20 cars on many of them.
and yet they run at 150! with anywhere from 800-1000 tonnes load..u have to appreciate those Engines mahn!!
and duronto
high speed trains with all windows opened?
