I like the foam and Rock strap idea on the top of the storage box . I have been installing mine cleats up but it renders top storage useless, Thanks, Rock straps will soon be on order.
Hi Chuck, Great to see that Bruce is still active. He is one of the greatest gentleman that I've had the pleasure to work with. Please say a hello to him from me. mac
Another great video Chuck. Love seeing how you modify/adapt things to your needs. Or how we say in the part of NL where I’m from “MacGyvering it “ lol. Looking forward to the video from your trip.
Always carried JB Weld, automotive wire, duct tape, solder, connectors, butane solder torch, spring puller, spare Ski-Doo relays, pry bar (ran ice and sliders melted to track), small socket set. Made many trail side repairs to not only my sled/gear but to complete strangers who broke down. Much easier than towing😜
All good things. I also tell people that suiting up a snowmobile is like developing your own first aid and survival kits. They have to be suited for your needs and conditions.
🎉🎉🎉 What a great video again Chuck ❗️Thank you for sharing and being an inspiration to me. Keep safe and healthy on your upcoming journey. Blessings,Carlos ✝️🙏❤️😊🇺🇸
So happy to see you and you’re Dad making memories, enjoy it all you can, I lost mine 9 years ago, two days ago, he was 85, and my hero, love you’re channel
So nice you can spend time with your mom and dad. That was funny at the end with you and your dad. Hope you have an awesome skidoo trip. Looking forward to the video. God Bless you and yours. Happy Easter!!!!!
Nothing like family time buddy ! Lots of trial and error until you get things the way you want it .. mine got a few holes drilled in the wrong places now lol 😂 … stay safe !
Yes now doubt! Killed me to start drilling holes but it’s has to be functional and practical- and now that I’ve started drilling them I may not stop lol
Very cool all of your family together and your Dad ski-doing with you. So many compartments & love all the gadgets you carry for safety. Hope the weather works out for your planned trip with Andrew. Cheers
That’s what it’s all about Chuck , Great moments to cherish with your parents. I really like how modular the linq system is on the Brps . Not silly or foolish to set up a machine that you will rely on daily basis to your own needs .Really loved this one , thanks
Well, Chuck!! Dandy video again sir. Great sled and you have things taken care of as always. So nice to see your mom and dad!! Wonderful times my man, guaranteed!! Have a safe and enjoyable trip. Can’t wait to watch the videos. 😊
The Skandic surely looks sharp! Amazing how your two dogs love that skidoo. Always nice to see your Dad on the video and we got to see your mom. Another great video. Thank you and Happy Easter to you and all of your family. Steph G.
Awesome, Chuck...you're a blessed man. I REALLY like that platform on top of the cargo box...thinking I might incorporate something like it for mine. Edit: congrats to the winner 👊
Another great video, great to be able to spend time out with your dad and to have both of them come visit you, especially get you dad to do the ending LOL. Looking forward to that next video , Congrats to the winners
Chuck you got her all geared up and ready to go hope you have a great trip. It was nis seeing your Mother and Father, Congrats to the winners great fishing gear. Happy Easter
Great video Chuck. Nice to see the family together. I always enjoy your dad. Have met him on the salmon river many times. One time we shared bear meat for lunch. Very nice to see him enjoying life at his age. God bless.
This is great. To help you decide what to put in your cargo box and the battery compartment, consider that these places stay surprisingly warm while traveling because they sit on top of the tunnel. We keep spare mittens, electronics sensitive to cold, hot soup, etc in these compartments.
I know the feeling on setting up your sled Chuck……..some advice on the chainsaw mount……..I’ve always made and used a bar mount system made out of plywood……….always worked without flaw. The saw would hang off the side or rear and that leaves the top of your box free for other things. Great idea for the partition for your box……..makes the space more useful of course. Great vid!
Sorry to hear that....our fathers are a precious part of our lives....mine is my ultimate mentor and taught me every life skill I possess. Deepest condolences my friend
Not 24 hours after I filmed and it’s been raining steady for hours now. Hope I didn’t jinx myself!!! Fingers crossed the temps drop. This is so unusual for here. Tks Victor.
Nice video as always . Our season getting soon to an end . Warm degrees and rain :( . ps have you tried caught pikes and take out the guts and spread them on a wall for drying ? let them dry to may or when you see they are pretty dry . Perfect snacks for the dogs . You should really spoil your dogs with that . Enjoy your new amazing machine . Regards from Sweden
Hey Chuck, your folding saw fits on the throttle side of your 135L cargo box. Just remove the plastic piece about 3/4 way up forward of the 2nd strap, 3 screws, and then your saw will fit there. Also, do yourself a favor and unfortunately your handlebar mountain strap and turn it 180deg around, that way you can see your dash clearly then also easier to grab while standing to maneuver the sled. BRP mounts them backwards for some reason. Never liked it so far forward compared to my old mountain sleds.
I have my inreach in the same location but have recently started clipping it on myself as I travel alone alot. The reason being is if the machine were to go into a river I would be stranded without emergency communications.
Whenever I’m on my seadoo I clip it on my person. Hard to get up and jump back on a seadoo in a river. Having it pinned full time is undoubtedly the best practice
good day Chuck, another wonderful video, so good to see that your father is still able to go and enjoy the outdoors with you at his age. I purchased the same Skandic SWT as you did, it is one beast in the snow, I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I have. 1 quick question where did you purchase those bungee cords that you are using to tie down your snow shoes. I checked all the stores in Corner Brook today but cant seem to find them anywhere, many thanks
They are tough to find bud. We are lucky enough to have them in two sports shops here (PWR sports and Herbs Industrial). I just found a link on Amazon tho. Hope this helps www.amazon.ca/dp/B00JAKRPP4/?tag=chuckporterev-20
Chuck, any difference in the pogo suspension with the new style chassis? As in sturdiness? Tippy? Compared to your XU, I had same sled, I put the front strut widening kit and it was a game changer but I’m curious how the new style sled is for tippyness. Thanks buddy. Safe travels
I haven’t given it a fair shake yet in off trail use to give you a real good response. I do find her more responsive when darting around in the woods, and that helps keep me afloat. It is geared differently with a higher torque generally speaking. I haven’t investigated the widening kit. Maybe if I feel it’s warranted I’ll take a peek. My last skidoo had the heavy duty springs in front suspension but I haven’t upgraded that yet. Again, see how it performs when I get more kms on it.
Hey chuck older video I know but I’m due for a battery on my skandic and remember you put a bigger battery on your older skandic, do you know if you can do the same on the gen 4’s? Thanks
Thanks I appreciate it also seeing since you have had older ones plus GEN four and you obviously put the miles on them how many miles/km’s on average do you get out of a set of sliders/hyfax? Thanks!!!
Hopefully tomorrow! lol. I started 33 years ago, but have just over 30 “full time” years now. I could retire right now, but at a reduced amount. Not quite enough to live comfortably for sure. Will keep checking though!
So nice that you can enjoy time with your dad. I miss those times with mine. Great looking setup Chuck, looking forward to sharing that trip with you
I try to make the most of every moment Don. I know moments will end eventually and unfortunately ❤️
Great to see your mom and dad. I remember seeing your dad on Land and Sea, catching caribou I believe but not exactly sure...
Yes he was on there a fair bit over the years. Caribou. Buffalo on brunette island. Also on Mutual of Omaha once about the caribou.
Love the Handstrap 💡 on the GPS - 👍🏼
Cost too much not to protect it for sure. Tks James
I like the foam and Rock strap idea on the top of the storage box . I have been installing mine cleats up but it renders top storage useless, Thanks, Rock straps will soon be on order.
I agree, that box is too pretty to get all scratched up!
Hi Chuck, Great to see that Bruce is still active. He is one of the greatest gentleman that I've had the pleasure to work with. Please say a hello to him from me.

I am actively making “memories “ every chance I get at this age
So nice you can spend time with your mom and dad. That was funny at the end with you and your dad. Hope you have an awesome skidoo trip. Looking forward to the video. God Bless you and yours. Happy Easter!!!!!
Skidoo has a lot of options, versatile for hauling gear. Great to see your family at your new home. The up coming trip sounds like a great experience.
Nothing like family time buddy ! Lots of trial and error until you get things the way you want it .. mine got a few holes drilled in the wrong places now lol 😂 … stay safe !

Tks Scott. I consider my machine a functional, practical and safety tool.
Good that you get to spend some time with your Dad. Hopefully everything works out for the trip. Congrats to the winners!
Dandy sled my friend

Such a nice way to finish the video...congratulations to the winners
I expect your Dad's a character, just like his son. Enjoy the Big Land! Cheers!
He was something else back in the day. I hope to keep his energy and stamina.
Congratulations to the winners
Awesome, Chuck...you're a blessed man.
I REALLY like that platform on top of the cargo box...thinking I might incorporate something like it for mine.
Edit: congrats to the winner 👊

Another great & interesting video.... and great to see Bruce on there again. ❤
Great video Chuck. Nice to see the family together. I always enjoy your dad. Have met him on the salmon river many times. One time we shared bear meat for lunch. Very nice to see him enjoying life at his age. God bless.
Wonderful memory sir. I will mention that one to him today. Tks!
I'm sure he will temember
This is great. To help you decide what to put in your cargo box and the battery compartment, consider that these places stay surprisingly warm while traveling because they sit on top of the tunnel. We keep spare mittens, electronics sensitive to cold, hot soup, etc in these compartments.
Wonderful setup. The glove box extension stays warm as well. Keeps your drinks from freezing and will even dry your gloves some.
Enjoy that trip ❄️Chuck( dan)
So happy for you having the opportunity to enjoy quality time with your parents. Hope the snow conditions work out for your trip!
Me too bud. Fingers crossed
Talk about living the life.....many envy you my friend.
I feel very grateful these days. I also realize things fluctuate in life fairly quickly so enjoy while you can ❤️
Good gear good results. Have good trip on the land.
Great sled Mr. Just remember they are a little top heavy so dont add to much weight up high. "Ippy tippy canoe" kinda thing
100%. Same with a wood sleigh.
Great video chuck, I have to get the glovebox extension for my sled now so I can mount my gps like yours, can’t wait for the next video..
I spiral a little more about mine in the next video. Added feature I’ve discovered
looking forward to your trip..Take care !!!!
Well on the last video I took notes on why you needed a new machine. Passed by the wife and I guess I will need to keep my old 2022. Lol
Hahaha. Well I can’t blame you for trying!!!!!
That cargo box is huge!
Enjoy the skidoo trip!
Tks bud

Awesome video. For sure😂
Hahaha. We all had a great laugh at that. So did he of course lol. Gets a bit camera shy when I put him on the spot lol
Well I think I might just go buy a new helmet and ride along with you!! Sounds like a great future sled run.
Absolutely zero snow here in the Prior.
Not 24 hours after I filmed and it’s been raining steady for hours now. Hope I didn’t jinx myself!!! Fingers crossed the temps drop. This is so unusual for here. Tks Victor.

No I haven’t even heard of this. Amazing tip though! Never knew it was a thing!! Great to hear from Sweden my friend.
There's the ice house. 0:32 😊
Just mowed it down yesterday (with the snow blower lol). Finished it off as it’s raining and I’m afraid one of the dogs would go inside of it
Thank you

Margos got the cargo and reggi got the rig good old stompen tom
Hahaha. Absolutely!!! Should had that song on in the background
Hi Chuck. Great video. What is the length of those Rok straps?
They come in all sorts of widths and lengths. Pick your choice. The ones I have there are 48” in length.
@@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors thanks

He definitely would be if he lived closer
How far away is your retirement?
Hopefully tomorrow! lol. I started 33 years ago, but have just over 30 “full time” years now. I could retire right now, but at a reduced amount. Not quite enough to live comfortably for sure. Will keep checking though!
Studies i have read say the closer to 50 that you retire ,the longer you live . Good luck.
Hi
Hey little buddy. Hope you’re having a great winter
