    I have watched your channel for a while. I just bought a 05 Hummer H2 SUT. I want to put a ham radio in the truck, but the issues is the truck isn't made out of steel. Where would I connect the antenna/ Respectfully, Joshua

      The back bumper has a part thats metal I had seen a few guys drill in that part of the bumper and pretty much bolt a small 90* piece of metal as the base for the antenna but as far as the wiring goes don’t know how they routed the wiring all the way down back there .

      If you use the oem power wire that goes into the radio that should work cause I believe it gets power the minute the key turns on

      @@dailydrivenH2 The old 6 disc had 2 harness connector holes and an antenna hole. The nav unit has the same 3 but it also has a 4th small green hole you can connect an antenna to. ebay sells GPS antennas that plug in to that green slot on the nav unit.

    • @dailydrivenH2
      @dailydrivenH2  Год назад +1

      That small green square slot is the antenna you need for the gps that ebay sells the 3rd round regular plug is the oem for am fm signals .

    I received an unlocked 2006 nav radio to replace my 6 disc radio in my 2004 hummer. everything comes on but no sound or volume control. I have a premium amp and the unit I purchased is for the premium amp. I gave them the code from the glove box and my vin number. any ideas?

    • @dailydrivenH2
      @dailydrivenH2  4 года назад

      Yes there is hope to fix your issue the same thing happened to me Unfortunately this happens often there’s always confusion on what part numbers work with different trucks must likely you got a unit that needs a luxury AMP , the reason you have no sound other than not having a luxury amp is that even if you buy a lux amp the harness wont talk to the amp because is wired for the premium amp , the hard way if you want to take the challenge you can buy a lux amp on ebay open up your center console and rewire the harness yourself. This could fix your problem or what may happen if you do all this is that you end up having sound only from the front passenger side of thats the case this happens because you got a used amp and you need to reprogram the amp to your truck . Now the easy way is to contact the seller and ask for a replacement or refund.

      The Seller sent me the lux version and it was plug and play. I did now however install my nav disc into the unit and it says I'm in Detroit Michigan, however I'm in the Portland Oregon area. not sure how to update that. I bought 2 discs as you suggested and both are registering the same
