does the video play to the screens if your are playing videos from phone or usb?
Do you recommend any other DVD compatible radios?
@jamienorris4880 Pioneer is the best. Everytime I veer from Pioneer the audio quality and adjustability is garbage.

Great video. You're the man. I had a professional install my radio. He acted like i had ten heads when i asked him if he could get the rear monitor to work too. I'm glad i found your video. The harness cost me 20 bucks and thanks to you it took ten minutes to install
Great tip about checking that the screens work before doing the swap. It’s an easy step to forget!
Great video, im jealous of the 3rd row monitor 😊
Thank you. Very well explained...
This is my favorite video. I’ve been looking for a new radio for my ‘12 suburban and keep my dvd/backup cam. 🎉🎉🎉
Did you keep your backup cam ? Please tell me how ?
@@InterceptorMx103 I did end up keeping my back up cam. I went with a different double din with apple play so I can have gps on my phone.

I’m running into a little bit of a stump right now I’m working on a 2007 Ford Freestar I’m trying to figure out what harness I need to grab to have have a touchscreen and still have the rear flipped down monitor
@ProvoBeastAudio have you run across an issue where the rear flip down screen doesn't turn off? Everything works but the screen remains on if the battery is connected. *Vehicle is a 2009 GMC Denali. Using the CRUX SOOGM-16 + Axxess GMRSAV. Everything works except the screen won't turn off.
I have a Sony system that I bought that does not have a DVD player but it does have HDMI inputs how can I get around the parking brake having to be set?
I appreciate your videos I've had my system installed for about a year and thought I had lost my two rear screens but I'm hoping the harness I just bought will allow that to work but I really would love to bypass the parking brake
Thanks.
I have the Jensen CAR8000 and the PAC ch4- 11. I want to keep factory camera and the VES system, on a 2009 Routan SE.
what other adaptor do I need?
ThNks you for the video. Do you have any videos on how to wire the existing dvd player into a aftermarket radio ?
Well, per your question, this video is exactly that.
Can you post some other compatible options for a 2008 Chevy Tahoe with factory dvd? Thanks!
Hi I have a 2005 Nissan armada and I’m wanting to upgrade my radio but my question is do I need the same harness from axxess and the aftermarket harness
Hi. I have a 2008 Navigator and want to make sure the rear entertainment works. The harnesses listed do not show one for Lincoln. Would you please indicate one. I want to upgrade my radio but do not want to lose the rear screen. Thank you. Are DVD units better in the event the rear dvd acts up.
Awesome 👍. I'm looking to see if this can be done on my 2008 Honda Odyssey EX?
I agree, except 2008 honda pilot
Any tips on achieving this outcome in a 2004 Lexus?
What can I do if I have a new Sony to go in my 2006 Cadillac Escalade escalade but I want to retain the The factory TV &C D changer.

So I just installed the same radio in 2015 town and country. How do I get into the ves settings so I can change it to allow the video to continue playing and listen to the radio at the same time
This is similar to what I need done to my 2004 Excursion. Car Toys said it could not be done, but I need an upgraded radio that will work with an upgraded dvd player. My dvd player stopped working about a year ago. The stock radio if fine, but we want to upgrade with bluetooth. Both radio and dvd will need to be integrated with the car speaker system and steering wheel buttons. Do you have a video that will show how to do this along with what type of radio and dvd player?
Hi, is the pac rp5 gm31 still the best wire harness for a 2008 GMC Yukon Denali w/ nav.
Also can I split the rca or add HDMI output to add two head rest monitors? And if so what do you recommend to do the job...?
Can you go over the 2015 and newer? This connector does not work for 2015 and newer
crutchfield says this radio wont fit my 13 tahoe which should be the same as the model in the video because of depth. clearly it fits ,any input on that issue ?
I have a question I have an Escalade and purchased a Tesla style android head unit. I’m looking to add rear monitor and I want to know if it can be done
Is there one for a 2017 Toyota Sienna with similar features?
Nice upgrade from factory radio, but did you know you can retain the factory usb plug-in (if you have one) without any adapter... Yup, right under the centre console tray, just unplug the factory usb cable under the centre cupholder area and plug in the usb cable from the radio.
what is the factory usb plug in used for?

Factory Backup camera wiring harness for 2009 GMC ACADIA?
Would this harness work for a 2007 dodge grand caravan ? If not is there one that would work ?
What wires are getting run into the orangish plug coming from the vehicle? And do you have a video of hooking it up?
Is there something similar for a toyota jbl RES for 2006 sequoia?
Does Honda Odyssey(2009) have this option as well? I can’t seem to find anything online or videos for that matter.
This process should work on a 2007 trailblazer ss with a monitor in the back right? I didnt see it mentioned but i’m assuming it should right?
Will the factory screens operate exactly as they do with the factory radio? Specifically, if a DVD is playing or you are streaming, can you turn on music while the head unit plays a video and the headphones are playing the audio of what is on the screens? Hope that makes senses sense..
I got the 240ex but I don't get video on mines do you recommend something else
How can i put a original screen stereo to a suburban 2010 did don’t have screen just a regular stereo
Do they make one to keep it working on the 2015s?
Can you have carplay on the front screen and play something else on the other screens?
can you show us how to do this and also keep the factory back up cam?
See the radio install video for details on how to retain the factory camera. link in description.
I recently purchased an android headunit. I can't get the overhead monitor to work. Is for a 2012 Chrysler Town & Country. Do I need any special wiring?
Does anyone know if you need GMRSAV-2 for a 2011 Suburban? I am using the GMRSAV and I get no video output on either of my overhead screens. They are on, but just a black screen. I have confirmed that the RSE VIDEO IN and VIDEO OUT on my JVC works by streaming to an external monitor. I have tired hitting the AUX button on the remote, but this doesn't do anything.
Great video did that grey harness came whit that pac5-gm31 or did you had to purchase separately?
Purchased separately. Linked in description!
Can you tell me how i can do that on my honda odyssey 2008?
yall have a video for a 2008 Mazda 5?
My 08 suburban has a screen but does not have the gray connector
I have the exact same radio and car. My installer said that it was impossible to keep my av in the rear and that my headphones won’t work anymore. I showed him this video and he said it was not real. Can you help?
Is there a way to upgrade the rear monitor to something bigger and retain the stock head unit?
It would require a bit of manual wiring as there isn't an adapter to integrate an aftermarket flip down with the factory radio, so you essentially would need to find the video signal sent from the factory radio, slice into that signal and integrate an RCA cable for video, and supply that to your new screen. Will be much more of an involved process.
Do you have an adapter for a 2008 Jeep commander?
Do they have this for a 2007 honda odyssey??? Does anyone have a solution for the Odyssey???
I have a 2007 Cadillac Escalade that doesn’t have that extra grey connector is there another way to connect the stock tvs to a aftermarket android stereo ?

Hi, I would like the same setup that you have but I already have a radio installed and it’s called the Dasaita radio. So, is it possible if I could have the same setup as yours using the Dasaita radio?
Those android radios are very hit and miss. Hard to help over a youtube comment. As long as your radio has a video output, it should work.
I have a 2012 Silverado LTZ with factory Bose system with rear flip down tv. It currently has a aftermarket radio but the flip down is only showing black but is lighting up ? Is it the install or do I need to cut and splice in MTO the video feed ?
Sounds like the monitor is getting power, but no signal. Sounds like it may be missing the RSE harness we used in the video.
Can this be done on a 2011 Sienna?
Do you have any videos for how to replace my Yukon radio? 2013 Yukon Denali with factory navigation, dvd rear entertainment, sirius xm, onstar, bose speakers.
Yes, tons. All on our channel. We have a few different variations.
can the wiring harness also compatible with the bose surround system?
Yes, the vehicle in the video also had Bose.
Thanks to your video I discovered the harnesses that I bought from your link.
I just finished installing it but only the 2nd row monitor works. The one in 3rd row is on but without signal.
What can it be?
Same thing happened to me. I just ran a new wire from the working 2nd row dvd to the 3rd row. It has power but no video power to it.
@@Z555JR and how you got it working?
Hey all, here is the solution - If your 3rd row isn't working, you will need the Pac version of the harness as it's pinned for the 3rd row screen. Often times they are not in parallel with the 2nd row. This video on this Cadillac shows that process: ruclips.net/video/-wmyla4nrZk/видео.html
@@ProvoBeastAudio do you mean the PAC GMRVD cable?

Hello. I have a pioneer avh-z5200dab radio and a Chinese headrest monitor. The radio has a video output. If I connect this additional monitor, will it display a movie or something from the sd card?
The radio's video output will display any video shown on the screen of the radio, so in theory, yes.

I have the DDX6.9 double din radio.
Either one!

IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE THE DVD PLAYER FROM REAR DVD PLAYER AND DISPLAY IT ON THE FRONT CAR STEREO?
Yes in the gm vehicle with this harness as long as your radio has an av input.
Wanting to do this install on my 2010 suburban, have the same pioneer head unit used in the video. My Question/concern is after doing the install am I able to display a movie on the rear screens while having my apple CarPlay displayed on the head unit itself? Or will the rear screens display whatever is showing on the head unit?
I also have this question.
Did you ever find out the answer?
I have the same question. Anyone find out the answer?
Yes for anyone with this question. This is radio dependent, but most major brands will allow you to overlay your carplay while playing a DVD or other AV source. It doesn't mirror the front radio. Once again, depends on the radio manufacture, but especially with Pioneer, it works just fine. You can even take it a step further and go with a unit equipped with "dual zone' capabilities that allow you to play two different sources (two audio sources) separate on the radio (front seats / channels with different audio than the rear DVD / channels).
Yep, see my response.@@haleighbentsen512
Does the ground have to be on the chassis of the radio or can I find another ground somewhere near it? I don’t have any screws on my radio to ground that loop to..
To the ground of your radio harness is fine.
@@ProvoBeastAudio ok will it still pick up video if it’s not grounded? I know u said it’s suggested
Will this stereo support the DVD playing in the back and radio for the driver ?😊
I'm wondering the same
I’m also curious
Me to please
Any idea as to why the rear screen would be staying on constantly, but not displaying any video? Thanks !
Factory screens are powered by the vehicle, independently from the radio, so they should be on each time you turn on the vehicle. If no image, then something is wrong with the video feed from your new radio.
@@ProvoBeastAudiowould it mirror everything from the radio screen to the rear screen ? like Home Screen or navigation or does only work when I put a dvd in my radio? I plan on installing a eonon android radio I want my rear screen to be able to watch RUclips or Netflix too
does this tell us how to keep the stock back up cam, it looks like u hardwired it or something?
That is covered in the radio install video linked in the description of the video.
what about for the original rear view camera??? is there a kit for it to??
Yes, depends on your year GM. The Axxess AXBUCH-GM29 fits 2006-11 and the Axxess AXBUCH-GM2 Fits 2012 and up to retain your factory backup camera.
Is possible to play music up front and still play the dvd in back like factory?
Yes, with radio's equipped with "dual zone" capabilities.
Hello is there a way to retain the factory head rests on a 2003 h2?
Sure, send us a message on facebook and we can point you in the right direction.
Hello what all would I need to do this in a 2004 gmc Yukon
Sure, you'd need the Pac RP5-GM11 as that harness carries the audio output from the rear DVD screen for your new radio.
Question. My middle flip down is showing and working good but the last one on the 3rd row seat is not showing anything but a black screen. Am I forgetting to connect anything eles to make it work?
Same problem I’m dealing with..
Hi, will I be able to keep flip down monitor working on a cheap Chinese double din stereo. Stereo is installed and working perfectly except not on flip down monitor.
Just to add, it doesn't have red yellow or white connector ports on cheap double din stereo.
Yeah, you may need a better radio.
I just bought a Denali with two screens and I’m getting an error when trying to play a dvd that says “viewing of front seat video source is strictly prohibited while driving” on ALL screens. Any advice?
Use parking brake bypass
Or connect parking brake wire to ground
That would surely work 😊
Your radio doesn't allow for video playback while in motion on the new radio, but can still display that image on the rear screens. It's a liability thing for the radio manufacture. There are ways to bypass that warning, but depends on the radio manufacture. Pioneer / Alpine will need a bypass relay (see my videos for that), most other brands, the parking brake wire can simply be grounded.
Does this replacement automatically bypass factory front screen video and typing gps while driving (off Park)?
That depends on the radio.
Thanks. I actually found a video about a secret feature that allows you to type and keep the dvd playing in drive (without the bypass). I installed the pioneer avic-w8600nex and backup camera on my o8 silverado. The issue I have is the camera does not go on and off automatically when shifting to reverse. The camera also fuzzy most of the time but sometimes shows clear. This pioneer I installed was not meant for my truck so I had to do some cutting and make it fit. Any idea why this is happening? I am avoiding from taking it out because it was tough to put in with all the wires and the maestro.
What kind of radio is that and will it go into 2008 Buick Enclave?
Yes. It was a Pioneer AVH-2500NEX. Send us a message on facebook or instagram and we can help you with the parts needed for your Enclave.
I have an 08 escalade esv with the two screens. My rear most screen doesn't show a picture. Everything worked fine before I removed factory radio. I called pac audio , and the guy said that I have to cut and move wires in the harness to get it to work. Any ideas?
Is it using the axxess harness we used? Our pac harness also had a rear monitor out but it wasn’t pinned right so we unpinned and completely removed it. The axxess harness was what was needed to do it right.
@@ProvoBeastAudio I have the Metra 120gmrsav. They look exactly the same. Check it out on pac website under tech notes and you'll see what I'm talking about. I'll try to order the exact one you have

Would y’all happen to have one for a 2004 Tahoe z71?
Ever find the answer to this?
@@boladagr8692 Unfortunately no :(
Your generation has the onboard DVD system already, and all you need is a harness that passes the audio through the vehicle to the new radio. The Pac RP5-GM11 has those audio outputs for your new radio to keep the audio working from the rear screens.
or how to turn off the allways on cig ports?
They are hard wired to the fuse box. To "turn off" a power socket, you will have to add an in-line switch.
Would that harness work with a 2009 nissan quest?
Nope, just gm vehicles. Send us a message on Facebook and we can assist
and the reverse camera and reverse sensors are going to be working?
Yes, but that depends on the radio harness adapter you choose to use in your install.
Does this work for 04 suburbans
GM only, and then very specific models. It's rocket science for no reason.
Are you able to keep playing the movie in the rear with headphones while the driver listens to music?
It depends on the radio, with that function, you will want a radio with "dual zone" capability, which allows you to play two sources in two different locations at the same time.
@@ProvoBeastAudio - Can you recommend some radios that do this?
Did you use the factory back up camera?

also i'm driving a 2011 Silverado LTZ - basically exact interior as in video.
No, you'd need to replace the radio as a whole.
Question are you here in Utah
Answer - yes.
Are you able to retain the rear controls for the DVD player? I think that truck has the "stop","play","next" - buttons?
Only if the DVD drive itself is located in the factory screen. If the screen only displays the video from the DVD player in the main headunit, then no, those buttons will become obsolete.
