This would cost 5000 USD in Manhattan NY in the US 2,300 on long island NY 3500 USD in Boston Massachusett 3500 USD in miami florida for rent in the usa
In the UK, £450 would be living in a shared bedroom and kitchen or even worse a shipping container. This apartment that Russell showed would be one of those canary wharf apartment that cost £1200 - £2200 a month.
Another stupid comment! It's cheaper because you are in Russia. Not America. I could name at least 20 other countries that are cheaper than Russia for the same standard. So your comments are pointless.
I don’t know what you’re talking about. Not every apartment is $3,500. I’ve never seen such a small studio in the U.S. (maybe only in Manhattan). I used to live in a very nice, luxury studio in Boston for $2,400 per month, and it was 3-4 times larger than this one.
I could, because its clean, new and convenient. But my problem is having far too much clutter, clothing, books and general stuff. I only have a small house, but i feel grateful for it today, i have 4 supermarkets just a minute away. Thankyou, because find your videos so interesting.
This is not a typical Russian apartment. This is a new type of Russian studio apartment. Russians are not used to such small studio apartments. Even a one-room apartment has a separate kitchen.
Because housing is so cheap in Russia, I'm surprised more Russians aren't just buying homes. I think that's the way to go. It's the biggest country, and you can have your own space.
@@jamesanthony3195 They are buying. Some own several apartments and create unnecessary high demand. They built more apartments in Russia than in the rest of Europe. 23% more this year.
Russell is giving you a good piece of advice. First travel around, see where you like more (climate-wise). With the termporary residence you won't be able to move around that freely, you'll settle in one place. That's a rule.
@@davidwebb4904 if you have a permanent residency, you have no issues. But with a temporary one (the one you get after getting a visa, if approved), every time you move out of a certain region, you lose your residency address (which is the most difficult part to get because homeowners don't like registering people in their apartments). So every time you move out of the region, you lose this "residency address" and become officially homeless (not registered anywhere). And you need this residency address in order to get the papers done and have a legal status. Before moving to any country always study the migration laws in order to avoid trouble. If you buy an apartment, you can get a residency there, as you are your own master. Arend (Countryside Acres) complained about it in his last video - it's really problematic to get residency address for big families (especially if there are children). Arend's family got help from a local church community. They were really lucky.
Hi Russell, I've been watching your channel for a long time. Do you have any future plans to visit waterparks, amusement parks, or beaches in Russia? How about universities? The Kva Kva AquaPark and Moreon AquaPark are worth checking out. I believe both are located in Moscow. Khalaktyrsky Beach and Beach Yagrinskiy come to mind too.
$600.00 a month for that unit isn't bad at all. I'd be more interested on a full 1 bedroom unit about 800 sq feet. Wondering how much that would go for monthly. It's really beautiful.
Great video. So close to Moscow. The grounds are really nice, Great exercise areas for all ages. Better than what is offered in new apartments in Sydney. Underground parking is great but should be included in the rent as in the case in Australia. Cute name “ Love and Pigeon “ or “ Love and Dove”. I prefer Love and Dove as it rhymes. Apartments are generally not furnished in Sydney. The apartment you showed us is so cramped, 34sqM, but i guess, it’s a studio that’s why. The bathroom is quite neat and lovely. It’s nice but i always prefer an apartment with a balcony. Beautiful pond, so peaceful. It’s a bit expensive at $592usd. Thank you again, Russell. Great video
Now I know why you stay in Russia ;). Your wife is lovely (imho). Yes, I could definitely live there. Modern and furnished? What a bargain by North American standards. ☮
this is how i remember growing up in Germany. blocks of units/ flats and in between were big green areas, sand pits and all things kid related. i believe it's all gone now. kids don't seem to be quite as welcome anymore.
A comparable sized studio apt here in the suburbs of Houston Tx would be about $800/mo vs $600 where you are, Although most studios here are bigger at around 67 sq meters .
I live in western NY and my apartment is probably a similar size to this. That apartment has better finishes, laundry, and a gated property for much cheaper than I pay (by almost half! 😅) I also really like the park near by. So I could definitely live there.
For Americans, -25C is -13F, pretty darn cold. 34 sq meters = 366 sq ft. As for the mailboxes, people don't send birthday cards, Christmas cards or birth announcements by mail in Russia? It looks very nice and comfortable. The only thing I always find odd about apartments in Russia, and Japan, is the washing machine but no dryer. I am surprised that the combo-washer/dryer machines are not installed.
In some family apartments you might see the high quality combo washer dryers. Almost everyone has a cloth horse for drying clothes. No one sends cards in Russia. I've never heard of it in all the years I've lived here.
No, it's not very common to send letters/cards here among general population. Usually we call, video-call, or write emails. However among entities/companies it's pretty common to send cards to it's partners on occasion of public/professional holidays.
Seem like a good rental deal for local people in Russia. Safe and gated area is highly preferable place to stay if wanted to stay in a city area. Overall great atmosphere & surrounding facilities.
Impressive! I love the design, how clean, sleek and spacious. I prefer a flat that has some old Soviet touches but this is great. The price for electric is amazing.
I was thinking the same. Especially if you have small kids and they suddenly want to go to the toilet. Much easier than going all the way back the house.
Hey Russell, here are some ideas and suggestions I would like to share with the building management because I care and I love Russia. 1. To prevent weeds from growing between pavement use a Sealer hardscape or something similar. 2. A thicker Metal posts fence is needed for better stability and long-lasting fence. 3. Please prevent stains on the pavement because it makes the new apartment look old and badly maintained. 4. Idea: I think having the kids' play area at the back of the apartment is better (Future projects). 5. Please trim the grass edges when mowing. 6. Bikes and Prams need a rack installation. Greetings from Melbourne Australia. smile...

Russia has vast lands, but why do they keep building upward instead of spreading those building into five storey buildings? It's not pretty when fire breaks out in a high buildings folks.
Это капитализм детка. Застройщик покупает землю для застройки и естественно он хочет построить как можно выше, чтобы получилось много квартир для продажи
Times change and trends change. For example, during the Soviet Union, it was important to build new cities and towns, people went to new places with excitement. Then the fashion changed. In the near future, everything will change again (because people get tired of the monotony), there are already projects for new cities (Dobrograd, on the Black Sea coast, on Sakhalin, etc.)
Strange question - why arrived cities? City - it is industry/logistic, it is factories where you need in one place to gather a lot, sometimes thousands people. As example right now in Moscow almost finished new building for space agency, in it at one time will be work 20 thousands people. Think about it - 20 thousands. How do you imagine placing all this people in suburbs areas? How they will came to work, back to home, where they will park own cars and so on… Another questions: police and fire stations - they works by square, not density. It means for such areas you need much more people. You need much more roads. You need much more shops. That shops regards to low density of people will be small, it means they will provide less goods for more price. What about schools? In Moscow exist schools for several thousands kids at same time. Regards to that in that schools a lot of misc additional stuff, e.g. class of robots, mechanics, all kinds of sport and so on. In small school you can’t provide all of this. Okey, let’s open class of robots in small school and it will be visited by 1 kid, because rest are not interested. What the point? Same with medical help. In city you can build one huge center with all kinds of help and stuff. When you have small population it is impossibly. You can’t spend few billions of dollars to build hi-end health center for hundreds of people. There are a lot of more examples (from museums to theaters). Small density city is pointless and backward a-priory. High density city is far more better. Often is only way (as example with this new building for space agency where is working 20 thousands people at same time for better productivity).
It is nice to see such new apartments up for rent for a reasonable price! I moved in to russia very recently but to my luck the only places I am finding on cian are pretty expensive and as a foreigner no one is accepting to register me which is mandatory after arrival by 7 days . Even got scammed on avito for a "brand new apartment" for 70k rubles.
Probably fine as a temporary rental for a single professionally busy person coming back home to sleep but nothing more than that. More promising looking from outside than inside. The rental price is fine for average westerner having an income equivalent to several thousand dollars per month. But to come down for any longer retirement stay there I do not see any point for most of them. Too cold, too dark during long winters and what to do around during such days? Clean, orderly but not cozy surrounding.
Moscow region, I live alone in a 1-room apartment, a brick house, the walls on the street side are 60 cm, the total area is 51 square meters, plus a loggia. My 12-story house was built in 2007, unfortunately they don't build like that anymore, it's too expensive. For me, this studio is not for living, but for coming home from work, taking a shower, having dinner, falling asleep, waking up, drinking coffee in the morning and then going back to work. I wouldn't want to live in such an apartment, there's too little space for me.
@@АннаФедорова-и2л Вы не поняли, у меня квартира 51 квадратный метр, на видео показана очень маленькая студия, по моему мнению этого метража недостаточно.
Depends on where you're going to move. In big cities, especially Moscow and St. Petersburg, people speak English (but mostly young people). In smaller cities and towns there can be difficulties in speaking English to local people.
How well do they speak Russian in the US? They speak English just as well or a little better in Russia. Look at the immigrants in your country who don't know English. You don't want to be like that in Russia, do you? You are right in saying that you study Russian in advance. Russian is not only for communicating with each other. It is also a huge culture that you can't understand without knowing the language. Good luck with your move. It is not easy, but it is worth it.
If you want to communicate with service people (restaurants, bars etc) I can ensure you you wont starve. Dont forget that English and Russian share a lot of vocabulary Water - voda Coffee - kofe Pasta - pasta Registration- registracija Bus - avtobus Taxi - taksi Station - stancija You literally would need to know 100 vocabularies to get by fairly well. Now if you want to get into deep conversations and meet people, you would need to learn more Russian (in case they dont speak English). But you get my point, you would survive.
In some cities where were big international projects English is quite widely used even in very remote locations. For military oriented industrial centres it will be a problem to communicate. In any way welcome to Russia
Yes, it is a good price, I value a lot new buildings. It is in a quiet residential area, well provided with parks and shops, and well communicated with the business center in Moscow. I am surprised at the price, not so expensive, I was reckoning about 180.000 euros. 116.000 euros is pretty affordable. The profit for rent is 4.5% not bad
Why aren’t people comparing rent to salaries in Russia? They just say, ‘I’m moving to Russia,’ without ever having been there. 🤷🏻♂️ Yes, the U.S. and the U.K. are more expensive, but the salaries are much higher too and life style is much better too.

I am wondering how well the noise insulation is. My experience in living in appartment buildings in France abd Belgium is having to deal with the music noise of neighbors.
in modern apartments, the insulation is not very good, but in this case the law works - in Russia you cannot listen to music loudly later than 23:00, and construction noise is limited to 20:00
I should like to know about the noise between the apartments and about the material to build the buildings. Thank you for your answer, l am just afraid of noise !!!
I looked up "complaints" about this complex. Seems to be good quality overall, no noise complaints. The only thing that stuck out is many people saying it's hot in the elevator 😂 probably not enough ventilation...
Scottish guy in Moscow (the channel) rents a normal apt in the center of Moscow $750 (+ electricity $ 2) per month. I don't know why Russell shows studios. It's his thing.
@TravellingwithRussell some of the Starbucks are so big that they have to have a Starbucks in the back corner of the Starbucks just so you can find the Starbucks. ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️
Because the apartments are all finished yet, the concierge isn't in the lobby. Eventually there would be someone there. No tv, but you can add one very easily.
These micro districts were always around in Russia. Of course where developer design the region, they put a few more things in place. But in older areas, you will still get schools and shops very close by. Along with playgrounds.
I would call that film you mentioned "Love and Pigeons"...Dove is more female pigeon on my take whereas a character of that comedy petted a flock of pigeons indeed.
Hello, Russell! Thanks for the interesting video! However, I think the area of this apartment cannot be 34 square meters. 24 is just right. My apartment is 36 square meters, and I have a hall of about 6 square meters, a separate kitchen of a little more than 8 square meters, a living room of about 17 square meters, and a separate toilet and bath. And a pretty big balcony))
I take it the price in $ is in US dollars? ...not Au as that would be around $865 p/m, nice to have parks and ponds and gated community all a bonus. ... thank you Russell ...nmaking it doable
Yes, sorry it was in USD. As that's the largest audience on the channel by a long way. The outside area was very nice, and to have 2 very nice supermarkets in the building as well.
TBH, I think it's overpriced. You can rent 3 times that size furnished apt (2 bedroom with large kitchen) in serbia for 500 euro. And at a very good location with great connections to the center (public transport). So in my opinion and comparatively, this is very expensive.
@@TravellingwithRussell But you said compare prices where you're from...didn't you? Or did I misunderstand? Either way, the building is fabulous from the outside and with all the accessories inside. I particularly love the little bathroom on the ground floor, to wash your dog's paws or just pop in for a quick pee, lol
Russians also have dachas. Actual 🏠 to go to on weekends 😊 And people who rent are usually students or young people who are saving money in order to buy their own apartment in the future. (Usually two or three bedroom apartment 55-90 sq.m.) So it's rational not to waste a lot of money on a rent
apartments of this type do not exist for life, they are so that you can spend the night yourself, bring a girl and spend the weekend. They are rented by those who do not have housing, who came to work a lot
There are different salaries. It all depends on education, work experience and experience. You can get 250 thousand (2500dollars), you can get 100 thousand rubles (1 thousand dollars). But believe me, this is very decent money in Russia. If you have your own apartment, then all your expenses can be $ 300 per month per person. I live alone. I'm from Siberia, in my apartment. I get $1,200, and all my expenses are $200. For 1 thousand dollars, I can live for 4 months without working at all. I have the opportunity to save 1 thousand dollars every month. In my city, an apartment of 50 square meters costs 30 thousand dollars. I have saved money for my apartment! I've been saving up for 3 years. I didn't take any loans. I am a happy person)) I've converted everything to dollars to make it clearer to you. I live on rubles) What am I paying for and how much? Electricity per month is $3, heating in winter is $30, water is $5, home Internet is $7. These are all my mandatory payments. Meals per person per month are about $150-200. The tax is 13% of the salary.
My former colleague living in Moscow, he is cyber security engineer. His salary is ~$3500 (on hand after all tax). At the end of year he also get bonus (so-called 13th salary), it differ and based by results of year ($5000-$10 000). Not so long ago he bought second apartment (rents out). Russell not so long ago show video from former McDonald, right on door was invite for work for students - $700.
In my opinion it's not tipical russian building sistem , it's more like сhinese tipical building sistems aslo known as gardens . But studio appartament looks like european studio tipe appartaments. Maybe that's way the rent is so hight.

Come for a holiday first, get a tourist visa, discover a few different cities. Then make the decision to move here permanently.
Russell is giving you a good piece of advice. First travel around, see where you like more (climate-wise). With the termporary residence you won't be able to move around that freely, you'll settle in one place. That's a rule.
@@natalya793 what you mean “its a rule”?
@davidwebb4904
Just BS. With temporary residence you have no right to left country for over than 6 month, otherwise it will be canceled… :/
Good ideas
Great video
Love and Doves is the Iconic Soviet movie. Bet it`s been named after it

Nice apartment Russell! This area is very good because there's a train station nearby,a subway station and a shooping center.
Exactly, I wanted to get the regular train home, but my wife prefers the metro.
Excellent tour of the apartment

Considering this is in a national capital the rent is more affordable than most us cities and significantly cheaper than DC, which is ASTRONOMICAL.
RIght, only about 30 minutes by car from the center of Moscow.
The square footage is small compared to most apartments in the US.
You were right Russel

I agree, and its close to public transport.
I grew up calling studio apartments bachelor apartments
In Australia, there called a Bedsit.
Impressive! I love the design, how clean, sleek and spacious. I prefer a flat that has some old Soviet touches but this is great. The price for electric is amazing.
Utilities are very reasonable here in Russia.
This is too claustrophobic for me. I need a full kitchen also.
I think with out my wife, I would ok in a place this size.
Definitely a dove painted on the concrete in the play area!
There was, i forgot to show that.
The downstairs loo is a wonderful concept. Very considerate.
Greetings from Melbourne Australia. smile...
Thanks for the tips. I need to pass these on to my building management i think.
Why on Earth anyone could NOT live there?
Not everyone wants to live in apartments. In Australia is less common to live in buildings like this in my city, Perth.
lol im a Ex-Russian and it looks really bad to me... We are not used to having a kitchen connected to the living space.. even if its a studio .

Answer to your question:.
It's very small and can't really cook anything substantial.
I've never lived in an apartment (pigeonhole) or in a big city, but always in a house. I've worked and have 2 houses, one in Oss, The Netherlands and one in Temixco, Mexico. Studying and working really pays off.
Russia has vast lands, but why do they keep building upward instead of spreading those building into five storey buildings? It's not pretty when fire breaks out in a high buildings folks.
Fire in these apartments is incredibly rare. Even for Russia.
Тот же вопрос, малоэтажные районы очень уютны.
How they will came to work, back to home, where they will park own cars and so on…
Another questions: police and fire stations - they works by square, not density.
Thank you
Your welcome.
Niiice...love the architectural design.
There is a cosmic range of apartments in Moscow. From several tens of thousands to thousands rubles a month.

My 12-story house was built in 2007, unfortunately they don't build like that anymore, it's too expensive. I’ve considered moving to Russia since the USA is a mess, exactly why I’ve been taking Russian language courses, how well is English spoken there?
Dont forget that English and Russian share a lot of vocabulary
Water - voda
Coffee - kofe
Pasta - pasta
Registration- registracija
Bus - avtobus
Taxi - taksi
Station - stancija
You literally would need to know 100 vocabularies to get by fairly well.

TBH, I think it's overpriced. You can rent 3 times that size furnished apt (2 bedroom with large kitchen) in serbia for 500 euro. And at a very good location with great connections to the center (public transport). So in my opinion and comparatively, this is very expensive.
But, you said " Serbia" this is in Moscow. 17km from Red Square. I agree, further outside of Moscow, you can get bigger places and better value.

Russians also have dachas. Actual 🏠 to go to on weekends 😊

But compared to Russian saleries it's not that cheap. People moving to choose kinds of apartments are working class people..
