@@telopots I've gambled yesterday after your comment. I thought it'd be worse but I got a good Illisi Mk V, Voidstrike, Columnus, Accatran Mk II Laspistol for my psyker and a Bolter for my zealot for ~350k. Maybe I should gamba more

I started using the Bolter for my Zealot and found that even though I miss my autogun I do more good for the team with the bolter picking off Crushers and snipers and dealing with hordes in close combat only.
I normally use the Momentum keystone but right now I'm working through the penance for using Fury but I'll go back to trusty old momentum after that's done.

Love your content my dude, this guide is so well done! It uses actual numbers on screen to show the subtle differences that actually carry a lot of weight. I didn't realize the bolter had 1x on all armor types but carapace, and I almost always used FotF.
Side note, that damage/stagger value chart, how accurate is it? I remember a while back reading that the stagger values were mostly wrong, and they didn't actually vary like the chart showed.

I have absolutely no idea about stagger values, the stagger system in this game is an arcane thing I do not want to peer into

I think that’s just on veteran bc it lacks the damage bonuses zealot applies through the charge reducing enemy armor and the crit talents.
I figured this tip out fairly recently. Want to keep your cavalcade stacks, while dealing with that pos gunner that's had you pinned? Throw a quick slide and two piece mc bolter to go. I have a 70% success rate with it usually with the stock hud
LMAO I never knew that's how the Zealot armor buff worked. I have very few weapons on my Zealot that have Carapace Damage as a perk because I always thought the dash buff converted Carapace to Flak armor so I could get more value out of Flak Damage as a perk, unless I misunderstood the buff still. Pretty clean guide my dude, for the past year or so I've scratched my head multiple times reading people's complaints that the Bolter is bad. Especially since Vet, a wildly popular class, minimizes many of its flaws and can play with it very aggressively. I've been winning pubs with it for many months and I only woke up to Cavalcade's usefulness a month ago.
I've exclusively been a bolter zealot since I've gotten my hands on one. Using it to clear large hordes or to soften up a Chaos Spawn before I behead it with my Eviscerator are all too fun with Fury of The Faithful. It's my personal pick for even Auric missions.
I really like using the bolter on the vet, and i have a good one. Cant wait to use it more.
I've been running bolter vet recently with Deadshot + Surgical IV, almost guaranteed ads crits so long as you hit. Magdump for patrols and tactical axe + VoC carries it the rest of the way. There's times I feel it's held back by the jank but I enjoy it.
Love the bolter my only hangups are the horrible iron sights and ready time like you said. Even with sprint cancel its still agonizing in tense situations

I use weapon customization mod and slap an a acog scope on it on veteran. Turns into a anti material sniper rifle lol. Full backline glass cannon with headhunter = 2 shot crushers and one shot reapers, mag dump to head on boss equals about 30k damage as well.
Not optimal, but fun as hell. Finished one hi shock t5 game with 250 elites killed and a combined 170 specials and disablers killed

less crits and you could use the one that gives brittleness per strike to counter big boys(now that rending/brittleness gives slight damage bonus for exceeding the armor DR nullification cap, at a 1/4 ratio)
still, it shreds and calvicide would be an decent blessing to pick if you used piety since more crits = more damage
it's not worth running on the bolter, I go into detail as to why in the video
@@telopots ig why but i still think its a more "baseline" out of the two and not rely upon luck factor. but i can see why that's the case.
@@telopotsfrom what i have tested and what i have used(sometimes i dont use the charge to dump mags) i think shattering impact suits what i do best. it feels more reliable though as long as its 1 charge per magdump it shouldn't be a problem

Jokes aside, I used to play Zealot with bolter a lot, this is great, I'll give it a... shot.

ive not played zealot since before the big rework, only psyker. seeing some of these nodes makes me think psyker really got a crappy tree that could do with a rework.
psyker's tree is very boring but the class as a whole is way overtuned
keystones need some work, especially warp charges, I want to see more cool active interactions, smite needs a redesign, and peril needs to be something you have to actually manage or care about
I really like your guides. It helps to understand what FS fails explain.
But I'm not a fan of your regular videos. Too much trash talk and swearing. But that's just my taste, hf!
