Quick note to virolence. Since it doesn’t go through walls and actually stops at them you can spam virolence a lot quicker if you group up the enemies close to a wall and cast virolence directly in the wall through the enemies (having an efficient travel range of only a few meters)… More virolence spam =more stacks more quickly
After Nidus was first released, I used him for every single mission fo three years straight. After that i played other frames. This video has brought tears to my eyes out of joy. To think anyone would make such a beautiful vidoe dedicated to Nidus. My favourite frame. Thank you.
It should be mentioned that his three is fantastic for incarnon weapons. You don't do much damage to them, but you can still hit them, so easy headshots, which means easy incarnon form.
Hey man! Really wanted to tell you how much I appreciate this documentaries on each warframe! They probably take a while with a lot of effort, but it’s been really fun as a new player learning about all the frames. Actually the reason why I got Mesa Prime was cause of the video, you just made the warframe so interesting but also explaining how she works. I really like the balance of history/how the frame can be used. ❤
The real history of warframe updates and stuff is interesting as shit i love seeing people discover shit i was there for or seeing the stuff i wasn't there for
Nidus taught me a lot about Warframe, he has a lot of obvious synergy with his kit. But he even synergizes with several helminth options. He was my first endurance frame, and helped me get a lot of rare mods. Now I'm more of a Harrow player, so I'm super excited for your next video.
One thing that bothers me is that they've changed Undying from 10 to 15 stacks but have neglected to change his visual transformation tiers accordingly, which always trips me up when I least expect it.
"I am Nidus and Gluttony is my Sin!" Nidus is the only frame i spent platinum on (when i started playin). When i started playing, something about his look just captured me.
Nidus design is just flawless. It just makes me sad that shieldgate exists and shieldless warframes were left behind on that. IMO all Warframes should have a "health gate" when they reach 1 hp instead of the actual shieldgate. Edit: fun fact, they added a "health gate" on duviri for endurance intrinsics, but it has a stupid long cooldown, and all other shield warframes have 0 issues with rolling guard + augur mod sets + brief respite that basically allow them to be immune 100% of the time with shield gate. Not even Vazarin helps Nidus survive a lvl 999 shot.
Nidus is a frame that needs to be played solo, he needs to be greedy for those stacks, he cant partner up with frame that nukes the entire room. Hes a god solo.
Felt this, when I first god nidus it felt like I couldn't even get a kill playing with other players who just spam 1 and 2 he's definitely the best solo warframe
can't forget when Nidus has Adaptation paired with standing in ravenous and parasitic link to an enemy at 50ish mutation you basically don't take any damage even better when you link an enemy like a Ancient Healer or a Eximus enemy that lost their shields
Ah man I played a ton of Nidus on release, and I got him in the circuit recently, reminded me how good he feels to play. Looking forward to the Oberon video!
I think why some of the previous frames does not really synergize with their 4 abilities is because back then abilities are moded and at a time (this was the time when there is stamina bar and excal has super jump ability), some of us use only one of those abilities because they are useful at a time. but after the update (idk what patch it was) that made the abilities not a mod open new opportunities to experiment new frames. this also led to revisiting older frames.
I'll always be kind of sad about the missed opportunity for alternative ability sets that the old ability mod system had. The current system is way better, make no mistake, but still.
Quick note: When you hold Virulence while Ravenous is active, a unique icon will appear over all maggots, making it easier to target them. Great vid, glad to see such a well made 'frame get the praise he deserves!
I need to refarm nidus again as this was an awesome video, which was also kinda my first regret because nidus and nezha prime were my first primes I work for in farming, got them both fully. But at the time I didn't know you can trade platinum so I had a storage cap and unfortunately sold nidus prime (which I feel like was a dumb idea and hearing the screaming voices of nidus mains coming for me). I need to redeem his use once again
Lol I understand. I as soon as I learned about trading for platinum I made a rule to only sell none prime warframes if I didn't have the plat to buy extra slots.
While I don't believe that _all_ warframes need synergetic abilities, I think we definitely need even more perfectly synergetic kits. Nidus and Saryn are amazing examples. I also think it would be amazing if we started reaching the territory of frames purposely designed to synergize with each other, where a frame will be released, then another not too long after who's abilities are designed around being paired with the other. Granted, you'd have to have another person to play with to reach full potential, but that's not super hard in an online community, and the subsume system could be used to account for part of it. That's a cool concept to me at least, maybe not everyone.
I’m still a beginner and you teach me a lot. Excellent work! So I’ll try to return the favour. “Virulence” has a short “i” like in “equivalence” now i just found a nidus in my collection with no idea how he got there so imma go max him out👍
would love to see you make a video about the classic Tigris Prime, I remember grinding for the relics right before it got vaulted and got lucky with the unveiling. Carried me in higher end activities while I was ranking up in MR
As a Nidus main that's dumped 1.3k hours into playing our infested lad, I'll say there's only really 3 things I'd change about him and 2 of them are about his larva. 1: Improve Larva's pull functionality; Larva has a bad habit of pulling enemies behind objects which they will then get stuck on, which can be an annoyance having to wait out the timer to recast due to some guy stuck on a railing you can't really draw a bead on. So perhaps something along the lines of "if an enemy isn't pulled directly into the mass after a certain number seconds, the link is broken and the timer can reset normally as if the mass had no enemies in it." The wiki says it has a "3 s (unaffected targets release delay)", but i can't say I've ever actually seen it function like that. But also along those lines, Larva has no effect on certain taget enemies, such as Demolysts and Acolytes, while other abilities with similar functionality can. I'll usually find myself subsuming out Parasitic Link for Khora's Ensnare to deal with the such enemies, so perhaps just giving Larva functionality similar to it where it might not pull them into the mass, but will still stop them in place if the tendril connects. 2: Just make Larva innately cancellable. That's it. It just seems kinda dumb that you have to burn a mod slot to be able to cancel once it's cast. 3: Perhaps some small work around for the building of stacks in fast missions being an issue. Give Nidus synergy with Infested Weapons, where similar to kills of enemies trapped in Larva, a kill with an infested weapon has a chance of giving Nidus a single Mutation pip. It wouldn't allow for the building of large amounts of stacks in a fast mission, but perhaps enough to still be able to cast Ravenous should the need arise. Other than those little nitpicks, he's a very well rounded frame and I doubt I'll be moving on from maining him any time soon. I hope when all this Duviri hype dies down, the Infested can get some attention and love.
I like to imagine that certain frames that share themes are related in a parent/child setup. So I would like to congratulate Saryn for having such an amazing son. And, once again, apologize to Hydroid for...well his family is just cursed. He's a hentai dealer and his daughter is a magical girl.
The only note you missed is another interaction between Virulence and his Maggots. Striking a Maggot with Virulence counts as striking a target normally, so even if the explosion doesn't kill an enemy, it still gives you 1 segment of extra Mutation.
Nidus is that frame that you rly don’t know which ability to replace with the Helminth or at least you don’t have a real incentive to because his abilities play into each other rly well. I rly don’t mind that he isn’t effective at fast missions cause the thing is… Larva is always effective no matter how many stacks you have and Parasitic Linking to a Volt makes both of you move through the mission faster. And tbh I like that he is specialised. Makes it feel powerful and refreshing to pull him out when I wanna do endless missions. I replaced his 4 with Terrify just so I could use his Virulence into higher levels and lean into his core gameplay. He’s just that frame that I don’t play often but my god he is so fun to play when he shines, esp since I don’t play with friends much 😢
The first frame I built was Saryn, because I loved the infested faction and weapons. Nidus was a frame I bought with plat because I ABSOLUTELY had to have the infested boy ASAP. Nidus Prime I just ground out and built. I love him but playing him in a group is a practice in masochism.
Nidus was my first frame. I had joined like a week before he dropped and I was just in love from the start. And now I have the Phryke skin, meaning I look great, run great, and I feel amazing doing it.
nidus is amazing... so long you dont have to play with a party. nidus has a very "harrow" mindset in that you need all the enemies you can get, and anyone or anything that stops you from stomping enemies is a detriment to your gameplay.
and theres me watching this video 10 months later that got Nidus cause I really liked the general theme he had cause plague-y glow worms are really cool and outright brought him with platinum instead of doing the quest. I didnt care if he turned out terrible (which he didn't,) I just really loved him for the theme. No regrets on getting him via platinum.
I have a build for the infested monster that absolutely trivializes corpus hijack as well. It's funny to do it on steel path and play the shawzin the whole time on top of the target. I ask people if they're stuck on that mission in steel path all the time to give them a hand and grab that achievement for not letting the target stop.
Nidus is one of my guilty pleasures when farming out endless missions because of how much fun he is, so I can definitely appreciate how relevant he’s been throughout the years. However, the constant mispronunciation of Virulence and Insatiable actually made it hard for me to watch without pausing to calm down (I know it’s not a big thing to most, but it’s just how my brain works). A nitpick on my end of course, but I would suggest utilizing text to speech options to make sure the pronunciation is correct for a word. I have to do it for myself too, because, not only am I self conscious about that sort of thing, it’s nice to have that kind of information handy and I like learning new things. Anyways, great video my dude, will definitely be giving it a like.
Nidus, conceptually and thematically, is my favorite warframe. Has always been. I actually started warframe a week after nidus came out so he was the first one I saw. To this day he still remains my most played non-prime frame. He would still be my favorite frame overall if only there was just some way to.. speed him up. Because whilst I love the whole "building up" aspect of him, it means he NEEDS to stick around for a while. And in the current scope of warframe, that's not really feasible :[ Also his prime design is immaculate and I couldn't have asked for anything else. When he has enough mutation stacks, he looks like a typhon from prey. Love that so much. I always imagine him having the voice of Morgan Yu's suit.
Nidus was one of those frames that I never really knew how they worked until I tried playing them. Before I tried Nidus, I'd regularly just nuke everything with my Mesa's 4, including any Nidus's Larva ball, and thought nothing of it. I wasn't trying to hamper any Nidus I was playing with, I just legit didn't know what Nidus did. After I tried Nidus, and saw how annoying it is to have your Larva ball nuked by teammates, I was like 'Oh shit... Sorry, Nidus mains...'
Before Nidus, I played Warframe simply as a time waster with no actual goal or reason as to why I'm running this mission or that build. After Nidus, Warframe is now a fixture of my PC and has inspired me to actually pay attention to abilities and think about how I play specific frames. There's a reason why standard Nidus was my most used Warframe.
Great video, but you've forgot to mention one VERY important thing about Virulance. The wave can be cut by walls and cliffs so that you can recast it without waiting it to reach it's full range. This also works for the second wave from linked target. So when using Nidus, it's better gatherig up enemies near walls or cliffs to build up stacks faster and deal more damage.
What I find most funny is that my buddy (who is an og warframe player) told me that before he left Nidus was his favorite frame. Initially I never understood why but after getting him myself I was like “nothing more entertaining than stomping things to death.”
I have my nidus built specifically to give other warframes a boost to their ability strength. With a decently built wisp can buff your HP from 2k to 6-7k, not to mention the haste buffs.
Nidus was the reason I got into warframe, when the meta started being less favorable for him I stopped playing as much, came back for nidus prime but faced the same issue. Now I only play once every couple of months or when a major release is going on.
ok i had to stop at 23:01 because an armor strip ability or unariu is SO MUCH BETTER then archon continuity also its not corrosive dmg its jsut the corrosive status effect
When i started playing warframe and decided to galavant before ive accomplished the war within (sanked 100 hrs), i had the opportunity to make a Nidus Prime. He is my main now. All black and red. Along with Limbo and Gara actually, which is not advisable for newcomers. Especially Limbo without proper training and knowledge.
i just watched a few of your videos and i really liked the mesa one and the others were nice too but the mention on Nova has me more interested on her past in this format
Meanwhile Nekros is over here with his abilities actively working against each other yet still don't stand on their own well. I know most don't think he needs a rework since he's played so much and he can be made useful, but he's played only because of one ability and he's only made useful after adding a ton of specific items. His abilities don't work or synergize well on their own. I hope he gets the changes he needs soon. I'm excited for the Nekros video coming.
i wouldn't say all of his abilities working against each other his 3rd and 4th skill has been the only 2 relevant skill for Nekros and work well together(sure you have to mod for 2 augment and equilibrium, at least he has some synergy), but i agree that Soul Punch and Terrify is just bad. Terrify can just be a silence type of skill, but instead of stun and silence the enemy special ability, it's a slow and armor strip instead. soul punch might as well change to health conversion + equilibrium as a skill.
@@littlelw319 Both Punch and Terrify push enemies further away. When the Shadows on their own are only somewhat consistently useful for tanking, them running after enemies who are terrified or punched spreads them out. Enemies will then be more likely to shoot you and the little damage they do is now spread across more foes. They don't teleport back to you when they get too far like they should so you have to cast 4 more not only to heal them but now to also keep them nearby. The only "cohesion" his skills have is Punch summoning Shadows (which it doesn't consistently do and you can't do it on the Eximus enemies which you actually want) and Desecrate giving more energy orbs is mandatory to keep using his 4 (which you always have to use Despoil and/or equilibrium because that ability is entirely unsustainable without them). Since the armor strip changes, people are using Terrify as a subsume more. Other frames are better equipped to handle enemies running away. If I could change Terrify, I would make it a cycling targeted AOE curse ability that has separate armor strip and terrify curses. Throwing in a life-tap curse would be nice to give some self-sustain and survivability to Shadows in combination to changing Soul Punch to an ability that marks one enemy to receive bonus damage and to be shot at by all of Nekros' nearby companions/summons.
@@beeleuazevedo8142 I would say he's overrated. Everyone knows he can be made to be really tanky or supportive. He can even be set up to do a lot of damage. The problem is, to make him good at any of those things requires so much more than every other Warframe. He always requires at least one mod to make his Desecrate sustainable, he requires either Terrify's augment or a subsume to deal with enemies running away when it's used, he requires Shadow's augment and/or arcanes and other mods to become remotely tanky, etc. Other frames don't require a lot to be good then they have other options to specialize. Nidus is a perfect example of him not needing anything more than the basics to be great since all of his abilities are great together and on their own.
As a nidus main, I like the video, there is an issue with the kit (which is fixed by the helminth), the no recast by default on the second power is a big issue (and no, you do not want to spend a mod slot to band aid that issue)
Nidus has easily become my second favorite frame, as he has a lot of survivability. Without a shield being in the way, he benefits from Hunter Adrenaline and Rage a lot, allowing him to spam Virulence and Larva a bit more, especially earlier in levels.
I just loved the infested theme and lore. for me, lore determines who I play more than anything else. to clarify I mainly play limbo and am currently grinding so I can get Nidus.
IDK if Voruna was released at the time of the video but she can defy death indefinitely it has a one minute CD. Many think you'll only stay on the cc immunity all the time but with how fast you can change modes it brings much more power and nicer experience to change modes accordingly. And when you see you're going to die you can defy death on reaction that's so friggin cool to me.
actually its the worse passive voruna has why 1 when you change it goes on cooldown 2 you HAVE to be on that passive to get the +1 life 3 the other passsives are jsut better
A few days ago took a fully kitted out Nidus Prime to a steel path grineer mission. You know the Nidus with all umbra mods, 5 tau forged shards ( three health Regen, one armor and one health) and did 30 minutes survival mission for nightwave. You want to talk about a monster that gave no f's this was it. Got swarmed and had no energy but just dropped his 4 and his 3 and it was like ohh are you trying to kill me? Hit an enemy or two and full energy. Nidus is just the king of do not care, you cannot kill me.
I started during the octavia's anthem update, had just hit MR 3 and was thinking about buying a frame with plat because I was enjoying the game so much, meant to buy nekros and accidentally mis clicked and ended up getting nidus, best mistake I've ever made, still my favourite frame in concept, abilities and design. When his deluxe and prime came out I bought them both immediately and that was also the point I realised that no prime past this point will have been a frame from before I started playing which felt weird to think I'd been playing for that long.
I wish larva would give enemies dr against teammates based on how close they are too the center (closer = more) This would fix the issue of teammates just blowing them up, making it hard to build stacks
Idk, Ravenous was always the kind of so-so ability in his kit, and its the one most heavily pushed by some newer frames (Wisp and Citrine particularly). Prettymuch the spot where I'd put Nourish or one of the armor strips in (probably Styanaxs, so Larva+Tharros+Virulence).
I could watch you talk about nidus all day finally someone noticed that he’s better then most thing love the walk through from when he started and where he’s at today. much appreciated thank you love this video probably gonna watch it 5 more times 😂 #Nidusmain.
The first prime i built on my own, love that infected frame.
Same
Very under appreciated channel in my opinion
I thinking he’s gonna be big in the Warframe RUclips community if he keeps up
You are slowly but surely becoming my fav warframe channel . Everytime I see a new vid drop from you gotta check it out . Keep it up !
Thanks Nidius. You were the Prototype 3 I always wanted.
"I am Nidus and Gluttony is my Sin!"
Nidus is the only frame i spent platinum on (when i started playin).
Ah, Nidus. The frame that got me through the Star Chart.
Recently, I’ve slapped gloom on his 4, and it’s working pretty good so far.
Yea but gloom is just op that nerf is coming
@@jordanvslife3533 really? could you let me know when it comes, lmao
Quick note: When you hold Virulence while Ravenous is active, a unique icon will appear over all maggots, making it easier to target them.
Great vid, glad to see such a well made 'frame get the praise he deserves!
As a guy who’s getting Nidus Prime as my first Prime, I think I’m getting good one after this video
I never thought about that third point. Since I am building the dual toxocyst for the incarnon adapter. So I think that would be a great addition.
He’s just that frame that I don’t play often but my god he is so fun to play when he shines, esp since I don’t play with friends much 😢
Favorite frame, first prime - the guy that got me into Frame
here's for the lord of infestation!
Nidus is still one of my top 5 favorite frames. His new augments are awesome and feels so forgiving when it comes to modding him 😊
The first frame I built was Saryn, because I loved the infested faction and weapons.
Love hearing "nidus is a solo players dream" made me feel seen as a solo player gaining nidus
Just got Nidus last night and I’m already simping over his ability synergy and design
I have a build for the infested monster that absolutely trivializes corpus hijack as well. It's funny to do it on steel path and play the shawzin the whole time on top of the target. I ask people if they're stuck on that mission in steel path all the time to give them a hand and grab that achievement for not letting the target stop.
The video is good but I really appreciate that people are using the Hi-Fi Rush OST for background music now. Just sounds so good.
And in the current scope of warframe, that's not really feasible :[
Also his prime design is immaculate and I couldn't have asked for anything else. When he has enough mutation stacks, he looks like a typhon from prey. Love that so much. I always imagine him having the voice of Morgan Yu's suit.
Nidus is what made me start playing warframe I use to play him a lot now I want to go back and play him thank you for this video.
As I diehard nidus main I appreciate this video
I remember when nidus came out, based on looks alone I bought him right away, and he's still my main to this day
Nidus was one of those frames that I never really knew how they worked until I tried playing them.
I remember when he came out. Hopefully we get cross save asap. Hate having to play all over again
Nidus is so good that this video just made me install warframe again. Thanks bro
Built him today as my first prime frame
yet another top tier video
don't think i didn't see you using the sevagoth stance on him though ;3
limbo video when?
i've turned on notifications and shall ask untill one is done. thank you.
What I find most funny is that my buddy (who is an og warframe player) told me that before he left Nidus was his favorite frame. Initially I never understood why but after getting him myself I was like “nothing more entertaining than stomping things to death.”
I started 2 days ago and every frame you make a video about makes me want to play them lmao
24:51 Is the „carry on“ a reference to the game „carrion“? If yes, that‘s genius.
The titles cracks me up lmao what's next? How Grendal ate warframe?
Nidus started the Pablo sweep era of warframe, If you ever saw the ui on the corner you knew Pablo got to it and made it something great
ok i had to stop at 23:01 because an armor strip ability or unariu is SO MUCH BETTER then archon continuity
also its not corrosive dmg its jsut the corrosive status effect
When i started playing warframe and decided to galavant before ive accomplished the war within (sanked 100 hrs), i had the opportunity to make a Nidus Prime.
He is my main now. All black and red. Along with Limbo and Gara actually, which is not advisable for newcomers. Especially Limbo without proper training and knowledge.
I like the theory that Nidus is infested Frost, since his Virulence is basically infested Ice Wave and one of his helmets is shaped like Frost Primes
As a nidus main I appreciate this video
i just watched a few of your videos and i really liked the mesa one and the others were nice too but the mention on Nova has me more interested on her past in this format
Nidus was and still is my second favorite warframe. I don't play the game anymore but I still miss nidus'ing all over the place
But he's super strong. He's just underrated in a weird way
i wouldn't say all of his abilities working against each other his 3rd and 4th skill has been the only 2 relevant skill for Nekros and work well together(sure you have to mod for 2 augment and equilibrium, at least he has some synergy), but i agree that Soul Punch and Terrify is just bad.
24:41 I need to know whether or not if that "Carry on" is a wordplay on "carrion," as in carcass. I need to know if it was intentional!!
Something interresting too: Nidus's Ravenous is the only ability that can restore damage to health for a defense target
Nidus walked so Gauss could run
pun not intended
IDK if Voruna was released at the time of the video but she can defy death indefinitely it has a one minute CD. Many think you'll only stay on the cc immunity all the time but with how fast you can change modes it brings much more power and nicer experience to change modes accordingly. And when you see you're going to die you can defy death on reaction that's so friggin cool to me.
actually its the worse passive voruna has why
1 when you change it goes on cooldown
2 you HAVE to be on that passive to get the +1 life
3 the other passsives are jsut better
A few days ago took a fully kitted out Nidus Prime to a steel path grineer mission. You know the Nidus with all umbra mods, 5 tau forged shards ( three health Regen, one armor and one health) and did 30 minutes survival mission for nightwave. You want to talk about a monster that gave no f's this was it. Got swarmed and had no energy but just dropped his 4 and his 3 and it was like ohh are you trying to kill me? Hit an enemy or two and full energy.
Nidus is just the king of do not care, you cannot kill me.
Left side view is absolutely diabolical
I started during the octavia's anthem update, had just hit MR 3 and was thinking about buying a frame with plat because I was enjoying the game so much, meant to buy nekros and accidentally mis clicked and ended up getting nidus, best mistake I've ever made, still my favourite frame in concept, abilities and design. When his deluxe and prime came out I bought them both immediately and that was also the point I realised that no prime past this point will have been a frame from before I started playing which felt weird to think I'd been playing for that long.
Love your channel guy
fun fact to nidus look changes if he goes into the healmith room
Can you do Mirage next? I want to see the frame that can go beyond billion dmg next
Nidus is perfect. Nidus is basically a frame with helminth abilities before the helm was even thought of
Oh my Christ 2016 I feel so old. Started playing in 2014 and remember nidus’s initial release 😂
Sevagoth may require enemies to swarm him for it but he too can defy death indefinitely. But he can be stopped if his Shadow can be killed.
I wish larva would give enemies dr against teammates based on how close they are too the center (closer = more)
This would fix the issue of teammates just blowing them up, making it hard to build stacks
Great content keep it up !
something about some clean warm guitar tone over an infested mass killing hordes at the start of the video is so funny to me
Nice, this helped me endure 1 more c rotation on the citrine farm
Idk, Ravenous was always the kind of so-so ability in his kit, and its the one most heavily pushed by some newer frames (Wisp and Citrine particularly). Prettymuch the spot where I'd put Nourish or one of the armor strips in (probably Styanaxs, so Larva+Tharros+Virulence).
I could watch you talk about nidus all day finally someone noticed that he’s better then most thing love the walk through from when he started and where he’s at today. much appreciated thank you love this video probably gonna watch it 5 more times 😂 #Nidusmain. I just gotta ask where the nidus mains at come look inside my infested ship grandmother has blessed me with the infestation and it’s growing through my ship every day
Glad you loved the video!
I been running nidus since i first started warframe 8 years ago and goddamn
It's been so long I forgot Virulence has a hold option
Got to play nidus on steel path circuit and I was surprised that nidus can face tank. I fell inlove with this frame and now farming his prime.
Nidus best frame Best main never stop stacking
