Hey everyone! Today we got Harrow, originally Harrow & Nidus were supposed to be in a video together but due to high demand both of em are getting their own spotlight. Hope you all enjoy, oh and as for Warding Thurible before I get any questions, It's a solid augment if you want that meme energy gains for body shots but I don't find it that useful since just landing 2 head shots will give you like full energy anyways, not saying its completely trash but I personally don't find much use for it. EDIT: The "Midnight" Weapon is a PRIMARY CATCHMOON KITGUN
You’d like to think Harrow being a more solo frame is a reference to his lore about how Rell was basically solo and had to do all this stuff to keep the man in the wall contained to him alone and couldn’t have help from the rest of the Tenno but it’s likely that it was just designed somewhat poorly for squads.
It could have been semi-intentional too. Imagine if everyone contributed to the nutty amount of damage Harrow could do. I don't think any mission in the game would be hard enough then.
Harrow is a Warframe that holds a odd place in my heart. In most games I play a healer to satisfy my inner god complex. Someone being toxic? Let them die. Someone failing the team? Throw them a lifeline. And Harrow is something I love in games, a battle healer. Constantly switching gears between fighting and saving really creates a perfect gameplay loop in me
I'd say one of the bigger indirect buffs was with the relatively recent rework of certain weapons' ammo pickup rates. I remember when the Kuva Zarr and Kuva Bramma were the go-to picks for everyone on a squad ALONGSIDE any nuke frames, and it was a struggle to try and support the team actively using Harrow because everything would be dead before you could line up a shot. Now that the pickup rates have been nerfed, Harrow feels much more consistent.
I wish you would've mentioned the crazy synergy Harrow has with it's two weapons Scourge and Knell Scourge: makes sure you always land the headshot even on enemies you are not even sure if they have a head Knell: "One"-Shot-A10-Crit-MACHINEGUN (need I say more?)
I love harrow a lot and you explained his issue perfectly. He an absurdly powerful frame having everything a player would want, but due to coop play he is heavily gimped. He basically needs enemies to function at his best, but this is warframe where, if it breathes its deleted in milliseconds. Harrow was always my go to frame for tri capping as I had build for the scream to last its perfect duration and it felt great getting that timing down. Also I remember when we got the helminth system and I had to go farm a second harrow, I very quickly remembered why I hated farming harrow lol. My last little anecdote is when I went to help my friend get him. He was missing the neuroptics and during one of our runs his computer died.....that was the run the neuroptics dropped. Out of pure annoyance he said "fuck it" and just bought him lol.
Maybe it could de make a damage cap every frame can reach and the only Option to reach higher as the cap is some of the support abilitys from harrow or nidus or someone else
I love Harrow cuz I love all supports. But he does get bit tiresome for me to play due to the upkeep and having to keep up with his shield status. Still, his supportive synergy is pretty much second to none and I love that even if he’s definitely more suited for solo gameplay.
I recommend a rakta dark dagger to help with the tedious nature of keeping up with his shield demand, as it provides shields and over-shields when hitting enemies affected by radiation, as well as having innate raditation and 30% base status chance.
Harrow is without a doubt my favorite frame in the game, however, I can vouch that it took me nearly 4 months of daily runs of grinding out the Systems back in 2018. The grind burnt me out so bad I practically just didn’t touch video games until I picked dark souls 3 in 2019 Edit: I ended up just farming the plat via trading to buy him.
I grinded him fairly recently, thankfully I had a trinity and a friend to play with. We basically spent the whole time verbally abusing the grineer and it felt like I was stopping a bunch of children from putting forks in wall sockets whenever they stood still to shoot a single infested
The thing I REALLY like to use harrow for is training wheels for new players. Whenever I get some newbies in a squad, it's nice to run Harrow since he is engaging to play and has a lot of ways to support them without just nuking the whole map. It lets them play the game more. His play style inherently picks up slack when the rest of the team is in trouble and then falls off a bit when they are doing better. The better the newbies get at the game, the less support he provides. Just used him the other day to introduce some new players to the jackal fight. Having 20 seconds of complete invulnerability for the group as we explain what's going on is very helpful.
I love that despite Harrow being an offensive support, none of his abilities directly damage enemies or turn them off completely. Even though he's best as a loner, Harrow is also a great shepherd for players new to the game.
@NovaUmbral he truly can. I told my friend "if I get his systems first try, I'll main him", knowing how low the chance of getting his systems is. The rest is history lmao
Here's an idea for a video, and something I as a recent addition to the player base am constantly left wondering about as I sit around the campfire and listen to the veteran players talk of the old days; a history of the meta. I hear talk that in the earliest days, warframe was a much more stealth based game, and far more single target. Makes sense for what games were at the time, but how and why did all of that change, and maybe explore where we might go, addressing some of the design issues with enemies and warframes and how that will shape the future.
i remember when harrow first came out. his quest and design was amazing, but when i saw his farm requirements i was like 'screw that'. i bought him a few days after finishing the quest, and godam... i would buy him again. very few warframes have impressed me first sight and harrow was one of them
this does remind of the times when I just got harrow and I thought he was the best thing to exist except that I need to fight my teammates to do my thing
Great video, I’ve been watching this series now for weeks. Learned a lot about Warframe’s past and how different frames can be used that I hadn’t gotten around to yet or just more interactions on ones I know and love. Keep it up @NovaUmbral!
Kinda surprised you didn't mention his Condemn augment, Tribunal. The augment that makes team play way more comfy, suddenly spamming your 1 is even more rewarding as teammate kills count to activate Penance and Thurible buffs. Also, you didn't even mention that he has the best deluxe skin in the game xD
I got Harrow Prime and Baruuk Prime with some platinum that a friend gave me, and have to say that I do not regret skipping his build time with the 50 plat I had left. Harrow is one of the most enjoyable frames that I've ever played! His kit just is so fun, and really gets my brain going with build crafting. P.S. if anyone knows what pistol is the "Pocket Flakker" that NovaUmbral is using, could you please tell me?
Harrow is everything I would like Octavia would be, fun! His gameplay is engaging and makes every weapon so munch smooth to play. Octavia is my favorite warframe but harrow is the most fun of all for me!
thank you nova for saving my family with all the money you gave us after our house being destroyed and purchasing us a mansion and each family member a bugatti you really didn't have to do that but we appreciate you so much man and i respect you so much your content is straight flames my guy keep up the great work 🔥❤
I love your titles and your gimmick (I hope you know I don’t mean it in a bad way). Honestly I wish we had more solo play and independent warframe. That do “ok” in team play but prefers to THRIVE in solo play/high end
Im so sick of people saying warframe is cooperative. Its not. Warframe forces you to attempt to have synergy with someone youre playing with because 90% of the frames do not function on their own for more than 5 minutes. Having a kit that actually works with itself makes the frame so ones that do not are forced to look for others that basically have the other parts of the kit they shouldve from the start. DE Makes frames by cramming shit regardless of power together with no regard for how it works within itself
Personally, i swapped Harrows 1 for Pillage, Hildryns 1, made a build with 400%-ish strength with no range, and now my Harrow is even more solo-frame as he was before. Pillage range is based on ability duration, and Harrows 2 and 4 are based on affinity range, so the only ability that has small radius is his 3, but in current meta pretty much everyone has enough energy even without you giving them it with your 3. In the end i have 100% armor/shields strip and full shields by just double tapping 1, a lot of reload speed and firing speed, infinite energy, and his awesome ultimate.
@@noahedenborg4221 If you don't know what you're talking about - better keep it to yourself. Sure, casting range IS based on ability range, but its base range is pathetic 8 meters. It expands for 2 seconds, at a rate of 20 meters / second, so just by adding 100% duration, you'll go from 48m range to 88m. On the other hand, why would you invest +200% ability range to ONLY GET 16 METERS of initial casting range?
@@noahedenborg4221 I can clearly see that you have no idea what you are talking about. Just stop embarrassing yourself. Pillage doesn't need ability range. Its base expansion duration is more then what you can get if you invest EVERY mod slot in ability range. You DONT NEED initial cast range if you can just wait one or two seconds to cover the entire room.
The way I play harrow could be best described in two words: thermal thurible. Subsume one of his abilities for thermal sunder (I did it for his 1) activate thurible so it gets 30+ energy per kill, invert Gauss’s ability holds, then spam thermal sunder as fast as possible and start running around the tile set like an madman. Due to the energy regain and the lingering infinite scaling heat procs this just makes harrow into an better sayrn imo. Definitely good for weapon MR or focus farming outside eidolons and zariman thrax. On top of that you can also still use his 3 and 4 for their intended use for even more carnage.
Started playing last year and i Literally have 20 Harrow chassis blueprints, but I more or less stumbled onto his prime with barely any effort. in fact he was the first Prime i built in my foundry
Easy fix for harrow, allies within 20 meters get 25-50% of thurible effects, then introduce a overheating mechanic if allies get to many kills too quickly they produce less energy per kill.
ah... So that is why my harrow teammate asked to carry us all and not kill enemies on survival. It was fun sitting like ducks for a while but eventually got boring and we joined the slaughter. Not that the harrow main got mad, we never really understood the why.
Harrow is the perfect warframe imo, he's so fun and you have to constantly work for all his bonuses instead of just nuking the whole stage. Plus I love that he's a bdsm space pope
I had the worst time getting the neuroptics I got the systems on my first run. But the neuroptics didn’t drop for me until 6 year later. I had to buy him.
Never heard of Nourish on Harrow, isn‘t that just energy overkill at that point? xd What I like to do on Harrow is Thermal Sunder over Penance for ESO, which can be spammed to an insane degree (has since been nerfed/limited with the 10x cap). Or replacing Condemn with Pillage. It‘s a far better way to get shields quickly, because the shield gain scales with enemy level; though it doesn‘t work on infested of course, and has technically been nerfed with the armor reduction changes. Both builds originate from Brozime afaik; that guy‘s just reliable when it comes to sheer comfort and ease of use. lol
I've been playing Harrow Prime recently and enjoying him quite a bit. I found that his augment Tribunal makes him a lot less reliant upon getting his own kills to regen energy and health for the squad. I got quite sick of channeling Thurible though and have since helminthed Nourish in place of Thurible and I have been loving it. I can still buff the whole squad with extra energy without having to worry about killing things on my own. Nourish also lets me drop viral from my weapons giving me two free slots to play with.
Tbh I never thought farming harrow before the drop changes was too bad. But that might have something to do with the fact that I got systems on my first try.
Harrow... the Cultist? We are Chaos! Chaos is strong! We are your favourites, are we not? Attack! Attack! ATTAAACK! Rush! Kill! Ha ha destroy ya! CHAAAAARGE! Gods have forsaken us! We returned to the battle, surely we will receive Gifts of Chaos!
I love Harrow, but I’ve been playing him less and less because of the problem that he is reliant on having actual enemies to cycle his abilities on. I’m sorry, I can’t provide the team energy from Tribunal and Condemn if the random pub Wukong with a CT holding a Riven’d Zarr immediately nukes the entire room the instant the door opens.
I remember back in 2017 by that time I managed to almost got all the frames. Equinox? No problem. Except for Octavia and *HARROW* Even Ivara was easy, besides Mag and the clan-dojo frames.
Harrow suffered so Gyre and Citrine can exist. DE realizing that kill assists can be used in place of or in tandem with kills changes how these frames work in a squad, especially a kill hungry one. If only they added this alternate requirement to Harrow....
After playing a lot of harrow, i dont think it is correct to look at him like a support. He is a very good dps gun platform who doesnt die. He is like chroma but good, and he just happens to give his buffs to his allies as a bonus. Also kuva chakuur go brrr
After Revenant can you do Chroma? He his a really good potential as high level and endgame frame but get left over a lot by DE, his kit is a chaos that hilariously bad, Vex Armor still have alot of problems and need buffs. Hes only the best frame for a single content, Profit taker, tanky and credit farming. But all the rest of content, he gets overshadowed alot. A simple warframe like Rhino that also a tanker Warframe could be considered alot better now, Roar is alot better than Vex armor + Elemental Ward imo
Hey just wondering how do you separate ur damage numbers to look like actual thousands instead of being mashed together (I’m on PS4 and was wondering if it is PC only)

but goddamit farming harrow is a pain in the arse, the amount of reflection bug is ****
Loved the video!! Could you please share your build for him?
Man, the left shoulder view irks me so much I dunno why
I love Harrow, but I’ve been playing him less and less because of the problem that he is reliant on having actual enemies to cycle his abilities on. I’m sorry, I can’t provide the team energy from Tribunal and Condemn if the random pub Wukong with a CT holding a Riven’d Zarr immediately nukes the entire room the instant the door opens.
If you're confused as to what harrow is suppose to be, his prime says he's an...inquistor? and I guess I can see it
Ayo what’s midnight?
Catchmoon primary I think
I think its funny youre using felarx on harrow, because those red crits are still lower then devouring attrition
I remember back in 2017 by that time I managed to almost got all the frames.
Equinox? No problem.
Except for Octavia and *HARROW*
Even Ivara was easy, besides Mag and the clan-dojo frames.
When we are gona get Nova Umbra build pls ?
Thank god I got him from the circet not the farm
Imagine DE making more umbra frames after they make a prime for all of them
What’s the midnight gun your using.
Why are you using the felarx and laetum on harrow??
Harrow suffered so Gyre and Citrine can exist. DE realizing that kill assists can be used in place of or in tandem with kills changes how these frames work in a squad, especially a kill hungry one. If only they added this alternate requirement to Harrow....
I got harrows systems by accident n i still to this day after 2 years don't know how i got it😂
Harrow doesn’t give red crits but he does give orange crits
U might be running either a trash cc weap or bad at hitting heads lmao
Well ur 4 once taken dmg u get 50 flat crit headshots is 200 flat crit tho honestly I see quite a lot of red crits
@@noahedenborg4221 obviously but he still gives only Orange crits
Pssst, Nova, pssst, just a heads up. When you introduced his 4th ability, you didn’t show his ability, just normal gameplay. Keep up the good work tho
17:57 this is the time btw
I made my chroma into a taser I killed an acolyte and had good kpm
👍
“Rap tap tap”
Anyone know what the song starting at 13:12 is?
I would rate this video:
1 rap tap tap out of 10 Łøhķ Xąþā Vømə
#blessed
You know DE messed up when farming for the prime is easier than the regular frame.
Hey just wondering how do you separate ur damage numbers to look like actual thousands instead of being mashed together (I’m on PS4 and was wondering if it is PC only)
How about goth crit pope as a nickname for harrow?
I really like your videos
But that you aim over your left shoulder feels so wrong for me
Anybody know what gun he was using at 11:23
Seems like catchmoon primary
Nova💫😉
Not to mention that his signature weapons WROK with his entire kit. The knell prime absolutely goes nuclear in harrows hands
Revert to your old thumbnail style, you can't even tell what frame is in the thumbnail it's too dark.
Thanks for listening
