Yeah. I really like how you nail the snare reverb with this technique. Right to the point. Thanks.

A lot of people seem to forget when using a noise gate/expander:
When both the signal you want and the signal you want to reduce (or not hear at all) come in at once, of course you gonna hear both, right?
The whole expansion thing only takes care of the quiet parts in between, and not during the peaks.

Thanks for this! You include a full explanation of several issues here, and focus on just them. And illustrate them clearly! A problem with many music- related help videos is that often times the creator gets an ego and starts thinking everyone wants to hear a long story about where he get his mic from, what hair products they use (I am exsgerrating) etc.... Haha. I like your focus. Thanks!

The room sound with the kit and the rhythm reminds me of „View to a kill“ by Duran Duran. 😀

Hi I know nothing about gates and was brought here by a comment suggesting to use a gate, or a transient shaper plugin for plugins that are missing ADSR.

How would you achieve the Gate with key input function on Ableton?? Is there any third party Gate plugins that has the Key input function?

Probably went too far with the bottom snair mic IMO
    You've basically taken away
    Articulation from the snair
"The triplet roll just before the down beat

Using a PC to record with is the worst basic track outcome you can get. On-off, on-off. What happens to .5 or .75?

Is a gate plugin just a vst for volume automation?
