First time a Dan Worral video that is going above my head. My brain is too noob to process this XD. May be i will come back 3 4 more times with pen and paper to understand this video. Thanks anyways professor Dan. Love from India.
Dan makes these so packed with info, I find myself watching again and again and learn something new each time! Thanks, Dan and FabFilter, for making your tutorials almost as great as the plugins. Only gripe - wish they were longer and more in depth. Simply awesome stuff.
Is it possible to expand upwards the signal that is below threshold? To make quiter parts louder without effecting the peaks. Same like Waves MV2 In this video upwards mode apparently expanding the peak for resuming the dynamics. PS: My question is other than the ducking mode (i.e. compression) please
Could you please explain how you feed an external signal to the sidechain of FabFilter Pro-G? That part of the video went super fast and doesn't correspond to any of the inputs that I see in Ableton. Surely there must be a sidechain input selection somewhere on the Pro-G interface? Can't find it, though.
Finally found out that it's not on the Pro-G interface itself. I use Ableton, so the sidechain selector drop down menu is on the little Pro-G mini-module interface in the toolbar of the individual track (same place where you drop other effects.)
All due respect, on this vid (and all the fabfilter tutorial vids), why is it a constant line of speech trying to talk over the effects? Please do one at a time, I can't concentrate on what you're saying, and I also don't get a chance to hear the effect in action, constant speech and constant noise!

This is the best video I've found on the internet explaining Gating and Expanding. Awesome!

@@detlefb.d.4416 yep that's what he meant by "plugin bundle"
I swear the best part of fabfilter is the UI. its unrivaled
Also cpu … it’s ridicules
Man this dudes voice is amazing. I felt like I was watching a action movie on this tutorial 😂. Good work💪🏾
😂😂😂😂
Haha good one. But when you here this voice you know you found a good plug in.
This guy's voice is the best part of the video.
Five years later. Still WOW!
FabFilter definitely my favor when it come to mix and effects art
Honestly love how visual this plugin is
that midi gate just blew my mind. Why didn't I hear of it before? damn
I dunno because most gates do it.
Killer video and second to none plugins 10/10 from me
Fabfilter rules!!!!
Awesome plugins\m/
I've found that 6:15 minutes in, this is extremely useful for creating noise for top ends of dnb drums.
I can never seem to get DnB drums to sound right, maybe this will help
Just take my money, this is excellent
just great plug-ins. killer video
How do you change the hysteresis on Pro-G?

Yeah Dan Worrall is the best.

-I think that depends on the DAW you are using.

At 7:07 it's what the upward mode is doing
I bet Saturn is on the voice
We love saturn!!! Just getting familiar with it!
I wish if he stops talking when audio signal is playing - I wanna hear the result.
CAN YALL MAKE A CHANNEL STRIP PLEASE
Where is Pro-L 2?
Ayo, that song got Rammstein vibes
Holy shit! So, watching this, I feel like Sonnox and Slate both simply copied this design from which to create and market their "drum" gates...wow
