Thank you, thank you! I tried following the directions that came with my new Bernina MultiSpool Holder and immediately hit the wall! What the very out-dated booklet says to do is NOTHING like you showed here. I did not get a "special screwdriver" with either of my new Berninas (480 & 500), but my husband did have a tool that fit the star-shaped screw head. It is a TORX T-20, in case anyone else needs that information. Following your directions helped me immensely. Thank you!

Thank you!!! You are right, the spool holders (pins) are very difficult to remove! I had the middle one and hated it. So! I had to use wire cutters to get them out! Eeesh....I kept thinking...'there has to be a better way to do this', or perhaps the middle pin hole shouldn't even be there. I also tightened the screws too much on the back. I did this on my B700, since that is the only machine that came with a spool holder. Now I see that I can put it on my other machines. Yes, I have the B780 and the B480. I use the 700 just for embroidery, which it is designed to do. By the way....I love to embroider.
The multi spool holder is heaven, I hate not having on a machine I am working with. Since I am always change threads and bobbins my pins always have thread or bobbins on them waiting and ready to be used even when I am not embroidering. :) Glad you love yours too but sorry about your wire cutter experience.
Thanks for this video, perfect as usual ;) :) just to confirm that I did it well on my 790+, because the manual is just so "light" ; great tool, BUT in my opinion, it's just slide on, you have to pay attention when you hold the threads holder , to hold the base with one hand, if not, pfft everything is getting out !! The same when you have cones (or big spools) with cones holders in them, you want to remove your cone and everything is out. I had the equivalent tool on my previous Janome 9450 (a little smaller I admit) and it was screwed directly to the machine, no need to think lol ! (sorry for my english, I'm french)

Is there a spool holder for the 790, or an adaptor to add to the 730 spool holder which could then be used on the 790? Thanks I really enjoy your tutorials and I have learned so much!
yes if you have the 730 and bought the Multi spool holder for it, back then it didn't come with with adaptor that is now needed for these machines. However you can purchase this adaptor by itself from any BERNINA Dealer. Many dealers my not have it on hand anymore since it comes with the multi spool set now. But they can order for you, we do it often for our customers. :)
