- We framed up an 18' tall fireplace for the pool house and now it's time to put the ship lap on it!! This is really looking slick. Black painted ship lap is really going to make a very bold statement in this beautiful gathering room with these super high ceilings. Watch along and see how we miter the corners from top to bottom and give some valuable advice along the way.

That miter tip is great, thank you.
I feel stupid not thinking about that myself.
Ha, YW & thanks for watching
Excellent work and attention to detail! Love how it turned out. Those art TV’s are pretty cool
Thank you very much! Ya, pretty excited to see it with the TV mounted. And the mantle turned out slick! Thanks for the comment
Another way is to cut rough lengths with a long point on one end. Then you only have to mark the short point on the other end and cut it on the mitre saw. You can measure/cut/layout large sections this way and you keep the other guy moving non stop
How do you deal with the holes after your face nail that shiplap
most of the time I use a lightweight spackle to fill the holes, let it dry, sand it, then paint it again
Can you tell me the exact black color paint you used for the fireplace?
Sherwin Williams tri-corn black (I believe?) in satin
What model fireplace is that?
I don’t remember exactly but It was a 48” vented unit tho.
