Hi Mark, I'd like to share one thing with you. The bleading Crane M3 mount plate carrying my Sony ZVe10 jumped off the gimble (twice) and damaged my objective. Have you ever heard about this issue? It kills all the trust I had in Zhiyum.
I always hated gimbals of any kind but they got much smaller and better then they use to be. Last time i used gimbal was in 2016. That huge two handle one. name is Ronin something. Costed like very nice camera at that time. Thats why i love those small 8 bit cameras like zve10 . I use a6300 and quality is not that much different compared with Red 6k from that time. If it is not for better glass (that cost 5k each and all manual) i think that you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. And rolling shutter can be bitch with these little Sonys. I hope that sensor tech from A1 trickle down soon.
Hey Mark, killing it as always ❤️ What are thoughts on DJI RSC2 money aside? My current thinking is that rsc2 is more future proof, given the weight load and the size of the cameras I can put on it, plus Raven Eye AI tracking seems like an awesome feature which boosts creativity…but on the other side the weight and size of crane m3 is just great…anyway what are your thoughts? :)
if you’re doing a ton of gimbal work with big cameras, the DJI is the way to go probably. The Crane M is awesome and small and convenient and creates a situation where I end up using a gimbal because it’s just so easy to carry. But if you’re a full time gimbal guy - the convenience of the small gimbal doesn’t matter as much
Dear Mark. I have ZV-E10 but the only thing I am missing is slo mo 4k. Can you recommend any compact camera with this function as good as ZV-E10? Hahaha I can hear Subaru 4 cylinder Boxer noise in the background. Love it.
Hi, do you have same issue on portrait mode? it turns off after 1-2 on my smartphone, it just can't hold longer. My smartphone keeps a good balance horizontally.
Hi there, I wanted to know if I can use my SAMYANG 14mm f/2.8 lens with CRANE M3, and what would be the best settings for vlogging with this lens, thank You.
Thanks for the helpful review; just ordered one for some upcoming vlog content for my channel. Awesome vid bro! Just brought one! Quick question - did you use a wireless mic or something when filing that night vlog? The audio was really good! I have both the ZV e10 and A7iii too haha
Hi Mark!! You know that after watching your video, I decided to buy this gimbal, and I think it's great, however, when I'm using it, it suddenly starts to vibrate, it's a gentle vibration, but still annoying; I have made sure that it is well stabilized and balanced but even so it maintains this vibration, does yours do it too? It is normal? It is the first gimbal I have. I use it with a Sony zve10+ 16-50mm. Hi from Chile!!
no it shouldn’t do that. make sure you press “auto-tune” after you balance. then the gimbal calibrates the weight. you do this every time you balance. put in a flat surface on the little trip it came with
What a really cool review. Funny too. I have a Canon M50 & I bought a FeiyuTech G6 plus. However I'm finding it a bit of a pain to set up all the time so I end up not using it. I'm motovlogging on a motorcycle so need things small & quick to set up. To put a new battery in mine means a re ballance which is a pain. I cant see the tiny little screen on it either. So I'm thinking about the M3. I'm guessing it would be ok with a rode mic on top with a kit lense? I'm going to Austria next weekend to European Bike Week so want to get sorted ASAP. Any advice would be awesome.
The motors are plenty strong for that setup, you still might have to take the quick release plate off to change the battery, but as long as you put it back in a similar spot, you shouldn’t have to rebalance.
I've had a nightmare day trying together the zv e10 to work with the scorp mini, it shakes in certain positions and the motor speed has to be low. Tried with and without small rig cage. Would this work with the screen flipped open on the zve10? Or what do I need thar would work well with zve10, cage and open screen please sir? Im a vlogging noob and need to see what I am filming in selfie mode.
Great video as always. Thank you for the valuable information you provide all the time. I'm about purchasing this now but I'd like to confirm if the gimbal will easily balance with an A6400 and Sigma 16 F1.4 lens?
yes - I didn’t have an a6400 to test, but it should balance well. even if it doesn’t balance perfectly, the motors are so strong you won’t have an issue at all.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis this probably answers my question too. ;) zv e10 doesn't have enough body/back weight for the 16mm to balance "properly", but it does still work. although as mentioned in my other comment, it can result in weird gimbal vibration. a few times the thing actually shutdown. still fiddling with it!
I think I mentioned it on another of your video's but I bought the DJI RSC2. There was so much choice around for a gimbal and over here the price difference wasn't that much when I was looking. I think now the price difference is about £150 which is a bit more significant than it was. Now I'm coming at this from a novice point of view, as I've never used a gimbal in my life. So when I get around to shooting my reviews of all the kit I just bought it will be from a non professional point of view. Gimbal prices have dropped over the years so they are now in reach of the average Joe public and I really think the Crane M3 is going to be a perfect fit for a lot of newbies. If you had of made this video a month or so ago I may well have bought one instead of the DJI. I'd love to see you do a comparison video between the two. Or even better I would love to make one myself if someone want's to lend me a Crane M3.... (wishful thinking) As always Mark great video. I can honestly say that your video's have influenced me quite a bit with all the recent purchases I've made on camera equipment. Unfortunately I'm in the UK so your links are no good for me or I would have definitely used them.
You’ve got a great gimbal - and it has a lot of versatility. You’ll be able use it for many years. My links are international - they should be linking to your local Amazon in the UK. Do they not do that?
Hi Mark! Great video. Could you please indicate if there will be no problems with stabilizing Crane M3 with Sony ZV-E10 + Sony Kit Lens (16-50 mm) and Sony E 10-18 mm?
I've been thinking about getting this for my Sony a7IV and using the Zeiss 35mm 1.4 Distagon with it. My hold back is I'm not sure it will work with it or not. I'm concerned the eye piece will hit and it will be too limited in movement. Do you happen to know if it will work okay?
The 35 1.4 is not on the approved list of full range of motion - so I think the eye piece would hit. Check in the description of the lenses that go with the A7S3 (the A7Iv) is not in the list because it's too recent.
Awesome!! Thank you for sharing!! I have one on the way....... I have a question; Will harm come to the motors if the power is accidently turned on when in the locked storage position? Thanks again! 👍
I don’t have that lens - but I do know it won’t balance properly. you still might be able to use it because of the motor strength, but it will definitely be front heavy
Hi Mark I enjoy your reviews. You make that glass of apple (beer) juice last a long time. I bought a Sony 18-135 lens and I am waiting on the ZV-10. I like to purchase this GImble but can't find it on the list. Can you tell me if this Gimble is suitable?
Hey Mark, currently torn between Sony ZV-E10 and Fujifilm XS-10 for my first "professional" camera, I am a marketer who are focusing on product photography, while also planning to make RUclips content (mostly cafes and restaurant vlogs). I already researched for both cameras, choosing Fujifilm I got the IBIS and the Color Science of Fujifilm (JPEG), but cost more in my country, choosing ZV-E10 I will get the Sony's leading autofocus technology for vlog and videography, "infinite" record limit, and combined with Zhiyun Crane M3 will be a perfect combo in my opinion with the same price as Fujifilm XS-10 Body Only. the real consideration here is the budget, with the price of Fujifilm XS-10 Body only, I can purchase Sony ZV-E10 + Kit lens with a Gimbal. however, ZV-E10 has big issues in rolling shutter and cropped 4K 30p
It’s a tough call - the Fuji autofocus doesn’t seem to be very reliable, but it’s a great camera. If you need a camera soon, the decision may be made for you. The ZV-E10 has stopped production because of chip shortages so you likely won’t be able to find one.
Heyy mark wonderful video as always, been ur subscriber for a while now, enjoy ur videos & needless to say they are super informative, 👌🏼 thank u. I have a query regarding a gimbal purchase - I have a sony ZV-e10 & the sigma 16mm,30mm&the 18-50mm lenses..I don't see this camera listed as compatible on dji's website..also wud u suggest the ronin sc or the zhiyun weebil s (as weebil s 's payload is higher, I'm hoping it would be future proof in case I rent or upgrade to fullframe set up).
the ZV-E10 and the Sigma 30 are compatible according to Zhyiun, and you can make the others work with limitations, but I think you’re right to look at the weebil s if you want to be able to hold ginger rigs in the future.
No, the ZV-E10 can’t be controlled in any way by the gimbal as of right now. It can provide external power but that’s it. When Zhiyun sell the Bluetooth attachment, there will be more functionality for some cameras, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Hi mark, what an interesting video you have! I am wondering whether this gimbal will hold canon eos m50 + sigma 16 mm f1.4? Will the viewfinder hit the rear gimbal if I take the low angle? Thanks in advance!
It’s not on their approved list for canon, so I can’t be sure. I know the motors would have no trouble holding the weight, but I don’t know about the viewfinder clearance.
Hey! Like your videos and they help me a lot! I wanna ask…I also have ZV-E10 + Sigma 16mm. Is there any gimbal that is compatible with this compilation? Since Crane M3 doesn’t have it in the approved list? 🤔
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thanks for answering so fast! 💜 So you can do all the movements freely like the vortex etc? Also if you try it with the cage from smallrig let us know if it is better 🙈
It works perfectly yes. I’ve got the same combo and still amazing ! Just you can’t remote the camera with the gimbal. The wireless remote in pro works it with this camera @mark ?:)
My M3 isn't charging my Sony ZV 1. I have the correct cable connecting the camera to the M3. I can start and stop recording using the M3, but for some reason, the M3 is not charging the camera. Must be a settings issue? I've tried a couple of different settings, but no luck yet. Suggestions? We are going to Europe soon and I'd like the gimbal charging the camera so I don't have to change batteries every half hour.
Hi Mark, can the zve10 be operated from the gimbal (at least hit record and stop) with the Sigma 56mm f/1.4? Also, I don't see the kit lense on the compatibility list.
no, the gimbal can only charge the zv-e10. even if it could operate the camera in any way, I wouldn’t connect it, because when you do connect externally with the zv-e10 you will lose you eye and face detect autofocus and it switched to a centre zone autofocus
Would this work for a rigged out ZV-E10 with Sigma 16mm and a Hollyland 300 Pro? I’d like to have a wireless camera on a gimble to send to an ATEM for a live show.
as long and the camera and lens combo balances well and isn’t crazy heavy, you should be fine. but to have full range of motion (undersling mode, vortex) you’ll want to stick to the camera and lens combos Zhiyun has approved.
hey Mark! i know we're a month away from this now, but i just got my m3 and have the zv e10 and 16mm 1.4 sigma. you mention getting your same setup to balance no problems at all. i can't get it to balance the weight of the lens! i've got the tilt axis pushed back as far as it will go, and the camera still dips forward. minor dipping on the pan axis too. this is causing the gimbal to vibrate occasionally (i'm assuming due to it struggling against the weight). any tips? perhaps a video of you actually balancing the camera with the sigma and zv-e10?
you can use it with the galaxy and go pro, but not the eosr with the 24-70. the 24-70 is too long so you won’t be able to balance properly you could probably still use it, but you won’t have full range of motion. in the description of the video there is a link to compatible lenses and cameras
Mark my man do you get a lot of jitters when holding it with one hand walking with the zv e10 and the sigmas 30mm and 16mm also does the quick release plate really work (do u use the zv e10 plate)taking it on and off without adjusting it
I just have the standard plate that came with it. I don’t get jitter, but you still need to walk carefully to optimize the gimbal - the popular ninja walk that all gimbal people use. check you balance and make sure it’s good and then, of course, press the auto calibration every time before you start.
😂😂 amazing review as always - mine is on the way - thanks the carrier for the delay 😩 the micro? Stick with your Rode the 1Khz of the Zhiyun is quite missed
1:50 what lens is that? You said it's the Sigma 16mm 1.4 but it doesn't look like it. Unless there's a new version of that lens with a button at the side? thank you!
No that’s the Sony 85 1.8. I just had it there for demonstration purposes. I just grabbed the closet lens!! I said that the footage I shot was on the Sigma.
I have the ZV-E10 and Sigma 16mm 1.4 balanced in terms of the sliders, and then autocalibration on top. It drifts. Is it the settings and mode I hve it on?
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis is good to know. One problem I had with the M2 was shaking footage when pressing that button. The M3 feels more solid anyway. I just bought it . I like how well it balances my Sigma 16mm . The motors are stronger - I think it's worth the upgrade. M2 always gave me problems with these lenses.
Honestly, is it really that stable? Like with no stabilization in camera or lens at all? (I’m watching it on my iPhone now, can’t really see if that’s good. I’ll watch on my TV later on)… It looks super compact and perfect for the little ZV-E10. I’m not sure if it’s worthy the extra bucks…
I used no stabilization at all in the tests except with the A7iii. Gimbals aren’t perfect, you have to be able to work with them - but the results you can get are sooo much better than without, I suggest watching someone like Brandon Li - he’s the king of gimbals in my opinion.
did you get the remote function running with the m3 and the zv-e10? the USB cable wont work for me (unrecognized USB cable) and the bluetooth part only seems to work with the m3 extension ...
There is no functionality with the included cable except for charging the battery. On other cameras, it is only start and stop. Hopefully they'll add more later. I know they plan to sell a bluetooth attachment that will add features to many cameras.

Hi Mark, I'd like to share one thing with you. The bleading Crane M3 mount plate carrying my Sony ZVe10 jumped off the gimble (twice) and damaged my objective. Have you ever heard about this issue? It kills all the trust I had in Zhiyum.
Man you are reading my mind. This thing was exactly what i need 😸
Google sells me your thoughts
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis I hope you didn't pay too much. Was just now on concert filming something and seen few guys with those little gimbals.
But if you’re a full time gimbal guy - the convenience of the small gimbal doesn’t matter as much
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thx! 👍
Is there a way to put my zv e 10 in the gimbal and still have my light up too connected and my moniter??
Thanks for the helpful review; just ordered one for some upcoming vlog content for my channel. Question for you what do you think would be the best lens for Sony ZV-E10 for shooting b roll of people cars etc it’s an event indoor I think lighting is going to be ok it’s a car dealership so expect lighting will be adequate.
Probably sony 15,, 1.4 or Sigma 30 1.4
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thanks for the quick reply; I ordered a Sigma 30 1.4. They are $50 off now, so $349 is pretty decent. Thanks again!
Awesome vid bro! Just brought one! Quick question - did you use a wireless mic or something when filing that night vlog? The audio was really good! I have both the ZV e10 and A7iii too haha
Thanks!! That was just the internal mic on the ZV-E10. It’s quite good.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Awesome thanks man!
Dobrý den, myslíte si ,že bude fungovat M3 bez problémů s ZV E10 a objektivem tamron 11-20? Děkuji
Tengo una sony zv-e10 y un lente sigma 50mm f 1.4 art este estabilizador aguantara esta combinación ?
Hi from Chile!!
no it shouldn’t do that. make sure you press “auto-tune” after you balance. then the gimbal calibrates the weight. you do this every time you balance. put in a flat surface on the little trip it came with
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thanks man! I’ll do it.
@@GpieTheEntertainer make sure you do the auto calibration after doing your best to bakance
I too live next to many motorcycles.
Worried if I get the gimbal that she will put my short and curlies at risk. That small form factor is impressive.
(wishful thinking)
As always Mark great video.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis no they didn't. They were always US based and then wanting import duties on top of the purchase price.
@@ItsWhatIDo can you do me a favour and click on the crane M3 link on this video and tell me where it takes you in Amazon

Hi Mark! Great video. Could you please indicate if there will be no problems with stabilizing Crane M3 with Sony ZV-E10 + Sony Kit Lens (16-50 mm) and Sony E 10-18 mm?
Those lenses will work great
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thanks!
And how does the record button works with zv-e10? I tried mine and the record button on the gimbal does’nt work.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thank you Mark!
Any idea how ZV E10 and Tamron 17-70 would work on this gimbal?
Awesome!! Thank you for sharing!! I have one on the way....... I have a question; Will harm come to the motors if the power is accidently turned on when in the locked storage position? Thanks again! 👍
I don’t think it will damage them - I’ve done it a few times and it freaks out and starts beeping. I would try not to do it too often 🤣🤣
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thank, appreciate it. 👍
Thanks!
Thanks, Ben!! Very kind of you.
Good job man! Have you test it with ZV E-10 and sony 18-105 mm zoom?
I don’t have that lens - but I do know it won’t balance properly. you still might be able to use it because of the motor strength, but it will definitely be front heavy
i have a A7C and Sigma 28-70 f2.8, would it be ok for M3?
Hey mark can you recommend me a gimbal for sony zv-e10 with a sony 24-105mm f4 G OSS lens
Hi Mark
I enjoy your reviews. You make that glass of apple (beer) juice last a long time. I bought a Sony 18-135 lens and I am waiting on the ZV-10. I like to purchase this GImble but can't find it on the list. Can you tell me if this Gimble is suitable?
I can’t be sure but the motors are really strong. I have a couple of gimbal reviews for heavier setups coming in the next couple of weeks.
Your explanations are really awesome
Can you please suggest me good camera for film making and photography please
The best for both is the A7iv amzn.to/3SPkwm2
cheaper but still good: amzn.to/3ecLUvy
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thanks a ton for the reply mark..so kind of u..
Thanks for your video. Does the button on the M3 work well to start video recording on the zv-e10 ? Do you have to connect by bluetooth or wired?
No, the ZV-E10 can’t be controlled in any way by the gimbal as of right now. It can provide external power but that’s it. When Zhiyun sell the Bluetooth attachment, there will be more functionality for some cameras, but we’ll have to wait and see.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis So we will wait.... Thanks

Hi Mark, for the talking head portion of this video did you use the Sony ZV-E10? Which portions used the A7III? Thanks!
The talking head was my trusty gh5. The outside shots were the zv-e10 except of the ones labelled a7iii.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis I see, thank you for your kind reply!
Hey! Like your videos and they help me a lot! I wanna ask…I also have ZV-E10 + Sigma 16mm. Is there any gimbal that is compatible with this compilation? Since Crane M3 doesn’t have it in the approved list? 🤔
Thanks. Worked really well for me. I even balanced it properly. I personally think they should have included it in the list
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thanks for answering so fast! 💜 So you can do all the movements freely like the vortex etc?
Also if you try it with the cage from smallrig let us know if it is better 🙈
@@rafailakoyes - vortex and all. The cage does help you balance the 16mm easier too
It works perfectly yes.
I think that would work - but you certainly wouldn’t be able to use undersling mode, obviously.
Looking to purchase my first gimbal ever for my Sony a7iii. Would you recommend this one mark? Great video 👌🏼
depending on your lens this can be great. Look at the list of compatible lenses with the a7iii in the description
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis I’m using a prime Sony fe 50mm 1.8. As of now
Hi there, what could be the limitations of using it in non supported cameras, such as 90d canon? Thanks in advance
as long and the camera and lens combo balances well and isn’t crazy heavy, you should be fine. but to have full range of motion (undersling mode, vortex) you’ll want to stick to the camera and lens combos Zhiyun has approved.
very good video. Do you think that the gimbal is to heavy for long-term vlogging?
no - it’s very light. 700 grams.

Greetings Mark. Leon from Dubai here. I'm facing some lens breathing while shooting videos with my ZV E10 - Sigma 30mm 1.4. How can I avoid that?
hey Mark! i know we're a month away from this now, but i just got my m3 and have the zv e10 and 16mm 1.4 sigma. you mention getting your same setup to balance no problems at all. i can't get it to balance the weight of the lens! i've got the tilt axis pushed back as far as it will go, and the camera still dips forward. minor dipping on the pan axis too. this is causing the gimbal to vibrate occasionally (i'm assuming due to it struggling against the weight). any tips? perhaps a video of you actually balancing the camera with the sigma and zv-e10?
make sure the zv-e10 sits as far back as it can and the camera strap metal touching the right side.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thank you kind sir!
Excellent review,Mark.
Can I use this gimbal with a Canon EOSR with a 24-70 lens,a Go Pro 9 and a Samsung Galaxy A52?
you can use it with the galaxy and go pro, but not the eosr with the 24-70. the 24-70 is too long so you won’t be able to balance properly you could probably still use it, but you won’t have full range of motion. in the description of the video there is a link to compatible lenses and cameras
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thank you for your response,Mark.
Much appreciated.
did you use a quick release plate i have the zv-e10 and the a7iii also will the sigma 18-50 lens work on the gimbal
with the zv-e10 and the a7iii
I just used the quick release plate that comes with the gimbal. The 18-50 should work fine with both cameras

Hi there, is there a way of starting recording and stopping a recording from the gimbal without touching the Sony zv-e10 once on the gimbal ? 😅
