Hi Mark, I'd like to share one thing with you. The bleading Crane M3 mount plate carrying my Sony ZVe10 jumped off the gimble (twice) and damaged my objective. Have you ever heard about this issue? It kills all the trust I had in Zhiyum.
So do you think it will still balance it well if I add to the ZVE-10 and the Sigma 16mm, a Rode VideoMic Go II and a variable ND filter?, because that's the vlogging set I'm planning for that gimbal. Keep up the great content man!
The standard quick release plate is unfortunately not usable for the Sony ZV-E10, because it still covers the battery compartment of the camera even when detached from the gimbal. Since the ZV-E10 uses quite small batteries, they have to be changed frequently, which means that the part of the quick release plate that is mounted on the camera has to be removed each time, which also means that the camera has to be re-balanced each time after changing the battery. Zhiyun therefore offers camera-specific quick release plates for the Crane M3, where the part mounted on the camera is smaller and no longer covers the battery compartment. This means that only with these quick-release plates, the battery of the ZV-E10 can be replaced without having to rebalance the gimbal afterwards. Here in Europe (Austria), I have not yet found a dealer who can supply the appropriate quick-release-plate for the ZV-E10 at this time. Many dealers don't even know what you mean when you ask for it.
Other reviewers have shown that there are quick release plates designed for specific camera models including ZVE10. They have also stated that there will be a quick release plate that will not block ANY camera battery door. It should be included in the first place.
Hi Mark. Do you think this gimbal can handle the ZV-E10 with the Sony 18-105mm? I’m looking to buy that lens to zoom in without adjusting the gimbal on each focal length. Btw, do you have a video on this lens? Thanks!

Dear Mark. I have ZV-E10 but the only thing I am missing is slo mo 4k. Can you recommend any compact camera with this function as good as ZV-E10? Hahaha I can hear Subaru 4 cylinder Boxer noise in the background. Love it.
Hey Mark, currently torn between Sony ZV-E10 and Fujifilm XS-10 for my first "professional" camera, I am a marketer who are focusing on product photography, while also planning to make RUclips content (mostly cafes and restaurant vlogs). I already researched for both cameras, choosing Fujifilm I got the IBIS and the Color Science of Fujifilm (JPEG), but cost more in my country, choosing ZV-E10 I will get the Sony's leading autofocus technology for vlog and videography, "infinite" record limit, and combined with Zhiyun Crane M3 will be a perfect combo in my opinion with the same price as Fujifilm XS-10 Body Only. the real consideration here is the budget, with the price of Fujifilm XS-10 Body only, I can purchase Sony ZV-E10 + Kit lens with a Gimbal. however, ZV-E10 has big issues in rolling shutter and cropped 4K 30p
It’s a tough call - the Fuji autofocus doesn’t seem to be very reliable, but it’s a great camera. If you need a camera soon, the decision may be made for you. The ZV-E10 has stopped production because of chip shortages so you likely won’t be able to find one.
😂😂 amazing review as always - mine is on the way - thanks the carrier for the delay 😩 the micro? Stick with your Rode the 1Khz of the Zhiyun is quite missed
Hi there, I wanted to know if I can use my SAMYANG 14mm f/2.8 lens with CRANE M3, and what would be the best settings for vlogging with this lens, thank You.
Thanks for the helpful review; just ordered one for some upcoming vlog content for my channel. Question for you what do you think would be the best lens for Sony ZV-E10 for shooting b roll of people cars etc it’s an event indoor I think lighting is going to be ok it’s a car dealership so expect lighting will be adequate.
Awesome vid bro! Just brought one! Quick question - did you use a wireless mic or something when filing that night vlog? The audio was really good! I have both the ZV e10 and A7iii too haha
Just picked up the Crane M3. First gimbal, so not much to compare.... but the main issue I currently see is that there is no control of the camera using the gimbal. Guess it has to be done through the Bluetooth module.
Most gimbals aren’t great at controlling the camera really. not too much functionality. plus, on a lot of the Sonys, you lose face and eye d’état to when connected by a cable to a gimbal. I always just use my gimbals to steady the footage - plus, I don’t have to plug in extra cords.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis and another thing I don't get is why not just Bluetooth control without an additional USB receiver. The ZV-E10 already has BT. Sony and Smallrig make a handle with controls on it that just pairs to the camera.
Hey Mark, killing it as always ❤️ What are thoughts on DJI RSC2 money aside? My current thinking is that rsc2 is more future proof, given the weight load and the size of the cameras I can put on it, plus Raven Eye AI tracking seems like an awesome feature which boosts creativity…but on the other side the weight and size of crane m3 is just great…anyway what are your thoughts? :)
if you’re doing a ton of gimbal work with big cameras, the DJI is the way to go probably. The Crane M is awesome and small and convenient and creates a situation where I end up using a gimbal because it’s just so easy to carry. But if you’re a full time gimbal guy - the convenience of the small gimbal doesn’t matter as much
Hi Mark! Great video. Could you please indicate if there will be no problems with stabilizing Crane M3 with Sony ZV-E10 + Sony Kit Lens (16-50 mm) and Sony E 10-18 mm?
Hi Mark!! You know that after watching your video, I decided to buy this gimbal, and I think it's great, however, when I'm using it, it suddenly starts to vibrate, it's a gentle vibration, but still annoying; I have made sure that it is well stabilized and balanced but even so it maintains this vibration, does yours do it too? It is normal? It is the first gimbal I have. I use it with a Sony zve10+ 16-50mm. Hi from Chile!!
no it shouldn’t do that. make sure you press “auto-tune” after you balance. then the gimbal calibrates the weight. you do this every time you balance. put in a flat surface on the little trip it came with
Awesome review very entertaining and informative!! I would like to have your opinion on my set up because I currently own the DJI Ronin SC I shoot with an a6000 and a 16mm 1.4 and a lot of my shorts are myself walking and talking to the camera but the thing is that this DJI gimbal is still too big and heavy it doesn’t really fit in my backback, I was wondering if with this one I could give me a lighter set up like a big difference or if it’s not worth the change! I appreciate any advice in advance 👍 cheers
I've had a nightmare day trying together the zv e10 to work with the scorp mini, it shakes in certain positions and the motor speed has to be low. Tried with and without small rig cage. Would this work with the screen flipped open on the zve10? Or what do I need thar would work well with zve10, cage and open screen please sir? Im a vlogging noob and need to see what I am filming in selfie mode.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thanks 👍 only small problems with Sigma 16mm and sigma 18-50 sometimes. Also Zv-e10. But overall I like M2 so not thinking to upgrade. M3 features I don't need, except the extra power and weight it can handle.
@@MasoodJamal ok. Here is my setup: Zv-e10 + 60grams microphone+ Samyang 12mm with nd filter - absolutely no problem with m2. Best lenses for vlogging. Really love this combination. Also I use this gymbal with Sigma 16, 18-50 but with minor problems like crashing sometimes. Sigma 56mm also without problems because is light.
Regarding battery, you don't have to unscrew it totally, just a little to be able to move the camera and after removing the battery becomes extremely easy.
Would this work for a rigged out ZV-E10 with Sigma 16mm and a Hollyland 300 Pro? I’d like to have a wireless camera on a gimble to send to an ATEM for a live show.
In the compatibility list I provided in the description, you will see that many cameras are supported including the R5. The only lens they say works is the 50mm 1.8 and the R5 in terms of balancing perfectly. But, much like the Sony, I am sure you can make other lenses work as well. But if you have big heavy, long canon lenses - I would opt for a bigger gimbal.
My M3 isn't charging my Sony ZV 1. I have the correct cable connecting the camera to the M3. I can start and stop recording using the M3, but for some reason, the M3 is not charging the camera. Must be a settings issue? I've tried a couple of different settings, but no luck yet. Suggestions? We are going to Europe soon and I'd like the gimbal charging the camera so I don't have to change batteries every half hour.
That microphone with Pro kit sucks. They should just sell the microphone adapter separately, actually the gimbal should have came with a 3.5mm microphone socket in the first place. Oh now I see it, that feature could be coming with the M4 model.
I've been thinking about getting this for my Sony a7IV and using the Zeiss 35mm 1.4 Distagon with it. My hold back is I'm not sure it will work with it or not. I'm concerned the eye piece will hit and it will be too limited in movement. Do you happen to know if it will work okay?
The 35 1.4 is not on the approved list of full range of motion - so I think the eye piece would hit. Check in the description of the lenses that go with the A7S3 (the A7Iv) is not in the list because it's too recent.
Awesome!! Thank you for sharing!! I have one on the way....... I have a question; Will harm come to the motors if the power is accidently turned on when in the locked storage position? Thanks again! 👍
Hi Mark I enjoy your reviews. You make that glass of apple (beer) juice last a long time. I bought a Sony 18-135 lens and I am waiting on the ZV-10. I like to purchase this GImble but can't find it on the list. Can you tell me if this Gimble is suitable?
you can use it with the galaxy and go pro, but not the eosr with the 24-70. the 24-70 is too long so you won’t be able to balance properly you could probably still use it, but you won’t have full range of motion. in the description of the video there is a link to compatible lenses and cameras
What a really cool review. Funny too. I have a Canon M50 & I bought a FeiyuTech G6 plus. However I'm finding it a bit of a pain to set up all the time so I end up not using it. I'm motovlogging on a motorcycle so need things small & quick to set up. To put a new battery in mine means a re ballance which is a pain. I cant see the tiny little screen on it either. So I'm thinking about the M3. I'm guessing it would be ok with a rode mic on top with a kit lense? I'm going to Austria next weekend to European Bike Week so want to get sorted ASAP. Any advice would be awesome.
The motors are plenty strong for that setup, you still might have to take the quick release plate off to change the battery, but as long as you put it back in a similar spot, you shouldn’t have to rebalance.
No, the ZV-E10 can’t be controlled in any way by the gimbal as of right now. It can provide external power but that’s it. When Zhiyun sell the Bluetooth attachment, there will be more functionality for some cameras, but we’ll have to wait and see.
I don’t have that lens - but I do know it won’t balance properly. you still might be able to use it because of the motor strength, but it will definitely be front heavy
I have the ZV-E10 and Sigma 16mm 1.4 balanced in terms of the sliders, and then autocalibration on top. It drifts. Is it the settings and mode I hve it on?
1:50 what lens is that? You said it's the Sigma 16mm 1.4 but it doesn't look like it. Unless there's a new version of that lens with a button at the side? thank you!
No that’s the Sony 85 1.8. I just had it there for demonstration purposes. I just grabbed the closet lens!! I said that the footage I shot was on the Sigma.
Honestly, is it really that stable? Like with no stabilization in camera or lens at all? (I’m watching it on my iPhone now, can’t really see if that’s good. I’ll watch on my TV later on)… It looks super compact and perfect for the little ZV-E10. I’m not sure if it’s worthy the extra bucks…
I used no stabilization at all in the tests except with the A7iii. Gimbals aren’t perfect, you have to be able to work with them - but the results you can get are sooo much better than without, I suggest watching someone like Brandon Li - he’s the king of gimbals in my opinion.

So do you think it will still balance it well if I add to the ZVE-10 and the Sigma 16mm, a Rode VideoMic Go II and a variable ND filter?, because that's the vlogging set I'm planning for that gimbal. Keep up the great content man!
That should work, yes. the rode might hit the gimbal motors if you are doing a vortex shot, so it knight limit you a little if you do those things,
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thanks!
Seems like a perfect match for the A7C and the new Sigma 20mm F2 i series lens.
You're the funniest humorist câmera reveiwer
Haha - thanks!! 👍
Hey Mark, have you tried this gimbal with zve10 + sony 55-210 mm lens? Did it work fine?
The lens is not in the compatible list: zhiyun-website-shenzhen.oss-cn-shenzhen.aliyuncs.com/instruction/20230905/1693882467396-2TCfJBBP.pdf
Love your humors😂😂😂
Brilliant video. Thank you!
Very welcome!
The Crane M3 comes with a cord that can provide power to the ZV-E10 through USB-C. You can power it for hours
Other reviewers have shown that there are quick release plates designed for specific camera models including ZVE10. They have also stated that there will be a quick release plate that will not block ANY camera battery door. It should be included in the first place.
@@gigihanmandarin Exactly. It's just a question of availability. Here in Europe, it doesn't seem to have arrived yet.
@@gigihanmandarin I haven't found one for the ZV-E10 yet. Any links?
@@MSWracing I did a quick search and they disappeared. Might have been discontinued due to low sales.

Is there a way to put my zv e 10 in the gimbal and still have my light up too connected and my moniter??
Oh forget Merry Christmas for you and your family
same to you 🎅🎅
Tengo una sony zv-e10 y un lente sigma 50mm f 1.4 art este estabilizador aguantara esta combinación ?

@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis It will. Just ZV-E10 and the 16 50 kit lens :)) Thanks :)
Hi there, I wanted to know if I can use my SAMYANG 14mm f/2.8 lens with CRANE M3, and what would be the best settings for vlogging with this lens, thank You.
I was wondering what stabilization system would work with the ZV-E10 Rig Build? I wouldn't mind seeing a video about that. Thanks for this one.
Great video as usual. have you done anything about the bad rolling shutter on the VZ e10
Probably sony 15,, 1.4 or Sigma 30 1.4
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thanks for the quick reply; I ordered a Sigma 30 1.4. They are $50 off now, so $349 is pretty decent. Thanks again!
I gave the 301st like for this video. Because I liked video. Okay bye bye.
Very logical - and appreciated 😀
Awesome vid bro! Just brought one! Quick question - did you use a wireless mic or something when filing that night vlog? The audio was really good! I have both the ZV e10 and A7iii too haha
Thanks!! That was just the internal mic on the ZV-E10. It’s quite good.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Awesome thanks man!
2:36 😂 my fev man on RUclips
Hmmm will it work with viltrox 13mm it is about 420 grams?
it can - but barely. I would opt of the DJI RS3 Mini for the Weebil 3S
And how does the record button works with zv-e10? I tried mine and the record button on the gimbal does’nt work.
Your explanations are really awesome
Can you please suggest me good camera for film making and photography please
The best for both is the A7iv amzn.to/3SPkwm2
cheaper but still good: amzn.to/3ecLUvy
Hi Mark, can I balance the ZVE10 with the Sigma 56mm f/1.4 or the 16 to 50 kit lens on this gimbal?
Thanks?
yes indeed
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thanks so much! I Love your channel... Great detail info, and entertaining delivery.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis yeah its not a huge loss. But a simple start/stop record would be nice.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis and another thing I don't get is why not just Bluetooth control without an additional USB receiver. The ZV-E10 already has BT. Sony and Smallrig make a handle with controls on it that just pairs to the camera.
Esse gimbal suporta gravação na vertical colocando uma gaiola case na zv e10?
Thanks!
Thanks, Ben!! Very kind of you.
But if you’re a full time gimbal guy - the convenience of the small gimbal doesn’t matter as much
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thx! 👍

Hi from Chile!!
no it shouldn’t do that. make sure you press “auto-tune” after you balance. then the gimbal calibrates the weight. you do this every time you balance. put in a flat surface on the little trip it came with
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thanks man! I’ll do it.
Dobrý den, myslíte si ,že bude fungovat M3 bez problémů s ZV E10 a objektivem tamron 11-20? Děkuji
Any idea how ZV E10 and Tamron 17-70 would work on this gimbal?
Will it function with the sony a7 iii with the Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS?
Hey mark can you recommend me a gimbal for sony zv-e10 with a sony 24-105mm f4 G OSS lens
Looking to purchase my first gimbal ever for my Sony a7iii. Would you recommend this one mark? Great video 👌🏼
depending on your lens this can be great. Look at the list of compatible lenses with the a7iii in the description
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis I’m using a prime Sony fe 50mm 1.8. As of now
If I was vlogging, I would know what to get now.
Hey Mark! it would be nice a comparison with the M2. I have M2 and I'm wondering if it is worth the upgrade.
The M2 is super compact, and if it’s holding your current setup - no need to change. 👍
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thanks 👍 only small problems with Sigma 16mm and sigma 18-50 sometimes. Also Zv-e10. But overall I like M2 so not thinking to upgrade. M3 features I don't need, except the extra power and weight it can handle.
Hi
Is the M2 is properly work with Sony ZV-E10 camera with Samsung 12 mm or Tamron 10-20mm lens also is it easy to change the camera battery ?
@@MasoodJamal ok. Here is my setup: Zv-e10 + 60grams microphone+ Samyang 12mm with nd filter - absolutely no problem with m2. Best lenses for vlogging. Really love this combination. Also I use this gymbal with Sigma 16, 18-50 but with minor problems like crashing sometimes. Sigma 56mm also without problems because is light.
Regarding battery, you don't have to unscrew it totally, just a little to be able to move the camera and after removing the battery becomes extremely easy.
Will ZV-E10 with kit lens be OK? Thank you for the review.
yes - for sure
Would this work for a rigged out ZV-E10 with Sigma 16mm and a Hollyland 300 Pro? I’d like to have a wireless camera on a gimble to send to an ATEM for a live show.
I think that would work - but you certainly wouldn’t be able to use undersling mode, obviously.
I didn’t hear you mention about full-frame canons?? What about the R5? Great video non the less 👍🏼
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis ok great thank you 👍🏼
My M3 isn't charging my Sony ZV 1.
Have you ever tried the Sony ZV-E10 with the Tamron 17-70?
that would probably be too front heavy
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thank you Mark!
Awesome!! Thank you for sharing!! I have one on the way....... I have a question; Will harm come to the motors if the power is accidently turned on when in the locked storage position? Thanks again! 👍
I don’t think it will damage them - I’ve done it a few times and it freaks out and starts beeping. I would try not to do it too often 🤣🤣
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thank, appreciate it. 👍
Hi Mark
I enjoy your reviews. You make that glass of apple (beer) juice last a long time. I bought a Sony 18-135 lens and I am waiting on the ZV-10. I like to purchase this GImble but can't find it on the list. Can you tell me if this Gimble is suitable?
I can’t be sure but the motors are really strong. I have a couple of gimbal reviews for heavier setups coming in the next couple of weeks.
Great Review! Do you think this can handle the zve10 with cage and the tamaron 17-70?
I think that would likely be too front heavy
How about with counter weights?
Excellent review,Mark.
Can I use this gimbal with a Canon EOSR with a 24-70 lens,a Go Pro 9 and a Samsung Galaxy A52?
you can use it with the galaxy and go pro, but not the eosr with the 24-70. the 24-70 is too long so you won’t be able to balance properly you could probably still use it, but you won’t have full range of motion. in the description of the video there is a link to compatible lenses and cameras
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thank you for your response,Mark.
Much appreciated.
How to lock the LCD screen ?
very good video. Do you think that the gimbal is to heavy for long-term vlogging?
no - it’s very light. 700 grams.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis ok thank you Mark!
Hey Mark,
Any chance you could do a video with the M3, ZV-E10, and 18-105 f4 lens?
I don't have that lens - but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't word with the ZV-E10 in the M3 - too front heavy,
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Just picked up the Sigma 18-50. What an awesome little lens!
Thanks for your video. Does the button on the M3 work well to start video recording on the zv-e10 ? Do you have to connect by bluetooth or wired?
No, the ZV-E10 can’t be controlled in any way by the gimbal as of right now. It can provide external power but that’s it. When Zhiyun sell the Bluetooth attachment, there will be more functionality for some cameras, but we’ll have to wait and see.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis So we will wait.... Thanks
Does it changes ?:) about the remote ?
Good job man! Have you test it with ZV E-10 and sony 18-105 mm zoom?
I don’t have that lens - but I do know it won’t balance properly. you still might be able to use it because of the motor strength, but it will definitely be front heavy
I have the ZV-E10 and Sigma 16mm 1.4 balanced in terms of the sliders, and then autocalibration on top. It drifts. Is it the settings and mode I hve it on?
You probably have it on PF (pan follow) - switch it to L (locked) if you don't want it to move when you move.
Why did you got your hair cut ? You were looking good enough in those long hairs
it was always in my eyes. luckily I look handsome either way 🤣🤣
1:50 what lens is that? You said it's the Sigma 16mm 1.4 but it doesn't look like it. Unless there's a new version of that lens with a button at the side? thank you!
No that’s the Sony 85 1.8. I just had it there for demonstration purposes. I just grabbed the closet lens!! I said that the footage I shot was on the Sigma.
Mark, can M3 do the vertical mode as scorp series ?
Honestly, is it really that stable? Like with no stabilization in camera or lens at all? (I’m watching it on my iPhone now, can’t really see if that’s good. I’ll watch on my TV later on)…
It looks super compact and perfect for the little ZV-E10.
Hi there, is there a way of starting recording and stopping a recording from the gimbal without touching the Sony zv-e10 once on the gimbal ? 😅
no, you can’t do this from the gimbal - even if you could, you would lose eye detect autofocus because of the way the ZV-E10 works
