This is by far the best gimble review on youtube!!! Thank you so much for this review, I've zv1 and I struggle with stabilisation, but with this, I will be good to go. 🥰🙏🏾

What another fantastic video Mark. I think you’re the only RUclipsr I actually enjoy watching these days. I love how you’re just a real guy and don’t try to be like every other content creator out there! Keep up the great work!
I have both and here's a few things to consider - the M3 is more "picky" with calibration so it will "spit the dummy" and is less forgiving than the M2S which is much easier to calibrate/balance in my opinion - plus, the M2S is actually much lighter in the hand - I carried both and after a few hours had saw arms with the M3 compared to the M2S which felt more nimble and just lighter. Stabilization on both is pretty the same.
I recently bought the Crane M3 and LOVE it! Another great review, and I really appreciate your great sense of humor man! You've got an incredible mix of great review info, production quality, communication, and humor!
First of all thank you for providing the comparison vs the M3. I had been looking for that everywhere!! Secondly I felt that running scene 100%! You are funny, subscribed!!
Looks like a great option for the ZV-E10. Battery power, cropless stabilized footage, camera effects, hot damn. Perhaps that and the Sigma 16mm f1.4 are in order? Will have to wait a bit on the next camera upgrades but damn, solid!
Actually - I just checked agin - and while it doen't balance perfectly - when you get it close enough, the motors are strong enough to handle the 16 with the ZV-E10 -so great news!!
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis The issues is that my ZVE10 is too light and becomes too front heavy with the Sigma 16mm for the M2. With my A6500 + Sigma 16mm + M2 it still holds fairly well.
My SECOND comment ever on RUclips, once again because of you, Mark. And I was this close to being mad about it until I actually watched your entire video. I am a gear hoarder. Fully admit. I own the Ronin RSC 2 Pro Combo for when my smaller cameras need to be caged and accessorized, the Crane M3 Pro Kit for when I can be more freestyle, and the Smooth 5 for when I want to gimble my S22 Ultra. And NOW you showcase the M2 S as another possible piece of gear I may need to own. BUT, since you included a quick comparison to the M3, I've deduced that I can pass on this one. Nice. As an aside and while it's a little dumb, I have been struggling to find the perfect fluid head tripod for the ZV-E10 when it's fully tricked out on rails with accessories (because of course I have that setup). My Cartonis seem overkill, and are already spoken for by other cams anyway. Do you have any suggestions? Maybe it's not worth a video but with so many choices across a broad range of costs, I am struggling to make a decision. It doesn't have to be overkill, but it won't hurt my feelings if it is. But it also might be nice to have something a bit more travel sized. But it needs to be able to carry the camera on rails with audio and a light and a monitor and a battery and a decent lens and probably other SmallRig bits that I add just because I like it, don't judge. You see my dilemma? Help. Also, I appreciate your videos and keep up the good work!

Hi Mark Are the Crane M3 and M2S compatible with the Sony ZV-E10 with the Sony 11mm F1.8 and/or the Viltrox 13mm F1.4 lenses? If so, out of the two Gimbals and lenses, which would you recommend with little Dougie? Cheers mate I love all your videos!
I’ll be doing a lens roundup on Monday and I will mention that. But the 11mm and the zv-e10 works with both gimbals. The 13 and ZVE10 will only work with the M3. And it’s at the very max - but doable. There is also the new RS3 mini that I’m getting in soon to test out
Knowing how important my comments are to you, you will remember I bought the DJI Ronin RSC2. Still haven't had time to use it but it certainly looks cool lol. How about doing an instructional video on how to use a gimbal?
I am interested in the new Zhiyun M2S Gimbal. I use a Nikon Z6 camera and a Nikon Z14-30 and Z24-70 Lens. the weight of the camera and lens works out to around 1150 to 1175 gms. would this set work with the gimbal
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis yeah I don’t really see any on RUclips. It just shows you how to balance it. It doesn’t show how can someone do vertical shot.. also would be nice to know if vloggers can use eye tracking using gimbal selfie mode; connecting with gimbal and zv1 mark 2. What is PF mode, how to do PF mode, what is L mode how to do L mode.. stuff like that
the are in the same ballpark. the zhiyun is lighter and more compact and has an lcd screen. The SC might be able to handle some different lenses. check the compatibility lists of each one to see if your camera and lens combo is on the list. I’m a big fan of the smaller and lightweight gimbals as long as it can support the camera I’m looking at.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thanks Mark! Since I have the Sony ZV-E10, I'm guessing the Zhiyun M2s is the better option then especially with auto calibration.
The M3 does hold my a7iii and Tamron 28-70. You can't really balance the a7iii properly because the eyepiece hits the back. But once you get it kind of close, you can auto calibrate and it works fine. So I think you can get away with on the A7C yeah.
This video of yours is so funny! Especially with different colors of lights to shoot the movie clips, lol, I feel like I can shoot the movie if I use M2S!
M3 can hold more combos of cameras and lenses, build quality is better, touch screen, stronger motors in my tests. There’s no doubt to me that the M3 is better, but if you’re camera and lens combo can fit on the M2S, you can save some money and get a similar functionality
Hey mark, Great review. I bought the m2s on this review! And the zve10 off your other reviews. Question… will the m2s balance with the zv-e10 and the sigma 16mm f1.4? As I’m about to buy that lens of it does balance. Great channel… thanks for all of you efforts. 😊
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thanks for the reply and kept up the great work on the channel. If you need any scoring or original music for free? Hit me up!
Thanks for your video, it is very helpful! Really like the fill light on M2s, a savior for a girl. Portable desgin is really convenient for my short journey.
Cool review Mark, does it balance good with the kit lens + the wide angle lens (410g) which almost have the same weight as the sigma 16 (405g) but I think they differ by the center of gravity?
watched alot of videos, this is the number 1 question ... Nobody's tested it ! ASPC cameras, Sony just released 3 new lens, none have OSS. Sigma 16 1.4 no OSS. So we're looking for a good gimbal.
Does this gimbal have wireless functionality like the M2? From what I've seen in other reviews, I'm guessing not, and connecting the gimbal to the camera requires a USB cable. I briefly had a Zhiyun M3 and found the cable was awkward and impeded some movements. It also can't be controlled remotely with a smart phone using the Zhiyun Play app. The M2 can, as well as even lower priced models like the Smooth 4 and 5. It amazes me that Zhiyun released yet another "upgrade" gimbal that doesn't have wireless functionality like earlier, lower-priced models.
This gimbal can be controlled by the play app with Bluetooth. The tilt and roll, pan and up and down can all be controlled. You can also switch modes like pan and follow and vortex. However, without the cable you cannot start and stop the recording. The cable fits better on the M2-S and isn’t as tight as in the M3 thankfully
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Hmm. The M3 doesn't have Bluetooth functionality unless the Expansion Base is attached, and the expansion base only comes with the $649 Pro Kit. Does the M2-S also use the expansion base, or does it have Bluetooth functionality on its own? If it does, that's a big plus over the M3.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Zhiyun and reviewers should note that it has Bluetooth functionality. Does it only work the the Play app? Can the gimbal itself control the camera by Bluetooth, or is a cable required?
@@AndyGrow the M3 and the m2s connect to a smartphone and the Zhiyun Play App like other Zhiyun gimbals. You don’t need the expansion base for the M3 to control the gimbal. You can’t control the camera via Bluetooth but you can control the gimbal. But you need a cable to control any camera functions. Reviewers don’t talk about the app because they receive the gimbal before Zhiyun releases the updated app for the gimbal. I’ll try to make a video about it all because people do seem confused.
The Sigma 16 doesn't balance perfectly - but the motors are strong enough to handle it if you get the balance close enough. I did not have the 18-50 to test.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Excellent! I picked up the ZV-E10 a few months ago, and I'm itching to add a gimbal. The Crane M2s checks most of my boxes, luckily. This camera has awakened my inner photographer, and your videos have helped me out tremendously. Cheers from Winnipeg!
Can you rotate in to underslung with the a7iii with a small prime without the eyecup or body hitting the gimbal itself? What about when you use a zoom lens with the a7iii?
I would look at the A7C instead - they aren’t too far off in price and the A7C offers some good advantages like the gyro data, flip out screen, full frame, and better colours
It doesn’t list that lens with the Nikon - if you look at the spreadsheet I gave there are a few lenses it supports like the 16-50. But if the lens is not too long - you should be able to use it. You might not get full range of motion, but the motors will likely hold it
Hi. When i connect my gimbal m2s to Sony ZV-e10 by wire then I can’t use face filter do you know any tips for that if you know please let me know thanks
Hey, could you try to balance the Sony a6400+Sigma 16mm 1.4. I would really appreciate that. This will let me know to get either the Crene M2S or the Crane M3.
I didn’t have an a6400 to test, but I doubt it would balance perfectly. However it would be very close is my guess and even the zv-e10 can use the sigma 16mm on the gimbal. It doesn’t balance well at all, but the motors are still strong enough to handle it
OMG, This fill light is amazing, I love the fill light, dear Mark, your video is so funny, I don't like the quick releaseplate of the M2, now they upgrade it, I would get the M2S, thank you Mark
Gimbal or put the money towards the Sony 11mm and stabilise? Mmm... ordered this gimbal, then cancelled seconds later. Too much to carry about. Lens first I think. Maybe something for me to think about at a later date. Oh gawd, watched your video til the end. Now I may order one!
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis I just realized that you used A7III and Sony 24mm GM, when combined together weighs 1095 grams while Sony a6400 + Sigma 16mm F1.4 weighs 808 grams. Ideally it should work.

The Sigma 16 doesn't balance perfectly - but the motors are strong enough to handle it if you get the balance close enough. it works very well with the sigma 30mm
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis What about using an offset spacer plate to mechanically balance the camera (fore and aft) before use taking stress off the motors?
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thanks Mark. I am still camera undecided. It's a big soup pot. When I do make my final decision it could come from mulling over the camera choices with an apple juice refreshment.
it’s not listed as one of the approved lenses - but it may work. there are some similar sized zooms with the a6400 that do work. But without testing, I can’t really know.
Yes, if you use pc remote to control on and off recording with the ZV-E10, you lose eye and face detect autofocus. You still get autofocus, but it’s centre zone. It’s the reason I would not use pc remote - plus, starting and stopping the recording is not a big benefit anyway,
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis I have ZV-1 tho but I guess it'll be same? So I just need to charge with cable and start recording with the button on the camera. Have you seen the C to micro usb cable? When you use it with ZV-1, the cable blocks the audio port in ZV-1... I think the C to micro is for ZV-1 mostly tho... Maybe Zhiyun missed this? Thank you for the super fast reply.
Guess what I'm buying! 🤣 Thanks for a great video again Mark. What functionality does the zve10 have with the gimbal? Was also wondering if it supports tracking.
No real functionality expect on / off recording - and I wouldn't connect it for that personally because you lose face and eye detect autofocus and it switched to a centre zone autofocus. You can however, power the ZV-E10 with no consequences.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thanks, that's interesting. Definitely don't want to lose the face eye AF. Powering the ZV is a bonus, man this lil guy just eats batteries😅
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Just got the Crane M2s Today. Dam this thing is small. Set up was easy and a quick test, it's perfect for the zve10. I see the autofocus problem when the cable is connected. I'm looking at the "Godox GM55 15cm 4K HDMI Touchscreen On-Camera Monitor" apparently you can control the camera via the screen using a special cable. Will look into this a bit. You should do a video with the crane M2s or M3 with a screen attached and mic as a run and gun video rig. Think that will be a nice compact setup. Cheers man
certainly some have been shot on 40 - but they were shot at super 35 which in full frame term is more like a 60mm full frame terms. it’s just a focal length that is close to what the human eye sees. There are so many factors that go into deciding which lens is best for a shot.

I’ll be doing a lens roundup on Monday and I will mention that. But the 11mm and the zv-e10 works with both gimbals. The 13 and ZVE10 will only work with the M3. And it’s at the very max - but doable. There is also the new RS3 mini that I’m getting in soon to test out
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Amazing, can't wait to see it and thanks Mark. You are a legend!
Will i be able to use it with canon rebel t7
Knowing how important my comments are to you, you will remember I bought the DJI Ronin RSC2. Still haven't had time to use it but it certainly looks cool lol. How about doing an instructional video on how to use a gimbal?
With an important comment like this, I will add gimbal tutorial to my list of vids 👍👍😀
what was that which changed the color of the lens ?
great video :) thanks for the google docs, do you know if the canon m6 mark ii will work with the sigma 16 mm on this gimbal ?
I am interested in the new Zhiyun M2S Gimbal. I use a Nikon Z6 camera and a Nikon Z14-30 and Z24-70 Lens. the weight of the camera and lens works out to around 1150 to 1175 gms. would this set work with the gimbal
The good ol’ fashioned gimbal girth test

kindly advise, I have zve 10 + 50 mm 1.8 Sony oss and 85mm 1.8 FE lenses, can it work well or struggle ??
Very good, do you recommend it for FX3? Or stick with M3? Thank you 🙏
Stick with the M3 - gives you more options with the FX3
For sony zv e10 & sony 10-20 mm, which one should I pick?
How do you ninja walk so well? This was a thorough review,. Great work
it’s all the sneaking around I do from my wife when I buy a new camera
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis 😂😂
So glad I found your channel Mark! How do you reckon the M2S compares against the DJI Ronin SC?
Ronin SC will be able to fit a lot more camera and lens combos - but there's no comparison in weight and size. the M2S is tiny and weighs nothing.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Brilliant! Thanks mate. 👍
Great review, love your videos, keep it up :)))))
Do you think the Sigma 16mm f1.4 and the Sony ZV-E10 are a good combination for the Zhyun Crane M2s?
I think the crane m3 is appropriate for the zv-e10 and the sigma. that combo will be a little front heavy for the M2S
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis ok thanks :)))
Haha enjoyable!!! Funny and accurately informative demonstration! Congratulations man
Do you have a video that breaks down the modes and what it can do with this gimbal?
No - but I think I'm going to do a beginners guide to the Zhiyun Gimbals soon.
What is PF mode, how to do PF mode, what is L mode how to do L mode.. stuff like that
Does it work with the Sony 18-105 lens?
it definitely won’t balance properly, but the motors still might be able to handle it. I can’t be sure without testing
New to gimbals. How does this compare to the $279 DJI Ronin-SC. Features?
the are in the same ballpark. the zhiyun is lighter and more compact and has an lcd screen.
Think this can handle the ZV-E10 + Sigma 16 f/1.4? or the Tamron 11-20?
No, the m2s is too small for either of those.
Can I use this crane with the Sony EV z10 and the Sigma 18-50 / 2.8 lens or do I need a bigger crane/gimbal? Thanks!!!
I didn't get a chance to test that - but it might work. I would get the Crane M3 to be safe.
you think it will work with the zve10 and 30mm sigma? I want to buy it but im not sure
yes, that will work I think
Can we connect this gimbal with zhiyun ZY app for object tracking? like attaching mobile on hotshoe of camera
nice video Mark !! do you reckon M3 can take A7c + sigma 28-70mm?
The M3 does hold my a7iii and Tamron 28-70. You can't really balance the a7iii properly because the eyepiece hits the back. But once you get it kind of close, you can auto calibrate and it works fine. So I think you can get away with on the A7C yeah.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis o.. is your 28-70 or 75? since Tamron 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 weighs 340g only, kind of small zoom len
Thanks for another great review! Crane m3 it is. 🤣 but seriously, I agree that for $100, a bit more versatility is worth it.
That’s what I came away with too. If you’re going to use a gimbal a lot - that will be a well spent $100
Oh no! Since the lens I prefer is the Tamron 11-20mm and Sony 18-105mm, can you confirm that the better option is the m3? Great vid as usual!
Yes, absolutely
can you review the bag?
This video of yours is so funny! Especially with different colors of lights to shoot the movie clips, lol, I feel like I can shoot the movie if I use M2S!
is this okay to use with a ZVE10 & a Sigma 16mm 1.4 lens? or is there something you recommend for this specific set up? thank you in advance mate!
I use it with the ZV-E10 and the 16, yes. It JUST balances - but it balances 🤣
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Awesome bro thank you 🤣 is there another gimbal you recommend if not I might just buy the M2S it looks cheeky 👍🏽
So, what are the differences besides girth between the M2S and M3?
M3 can hold more combos of cameras and lenses, build quality is better, touch screen, stronger motors in my tests. There’s no doubt to me that the M3 is better, but if you’re camera and lens combo can fit on the M2S, you can save some money and get a similar functionality
Hey mark, Great review. I bought the m2s on this review! And the zve10 off your other reviews.
Question… will the m2s balance with the zv-e10 and the sigma 16mm f1.4? As I’m about to buy that lens of it does balance.
Great channel… thanks for all of you efforts.
😊
no the sigma 16 is too big for the m2s. You can balance the Sony 11 and the Sony 15 though if you wanted to go that way.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thanks for the reply and kept up the great work on the channel. If you need any scoring or original music for free? Hit me up!
How am I laughing so hard watching a gimbal review video tho? 😂🤣🤣
Your sense of humour 👌
Hey man do you think can it support S22 Ultra ?
What about CraneM3 , will it support it ?
Yes, shouldn’t be an issue
Thanks for your video, it is very helpful! Really like the fill light on M2s, a savior for a girl. Portable desgin is really convenient for my short journey.
Great review. But anyway interesting how well it can add and adjust lighting for different scenarios. Going to use it with ZV-E10.
Cool review Mark, does it balance good with the kit lens + the wide angle lens (410g) which almost have the same weight as the sigma 16 (405g) but I think they differ by the center of gravity?
not sure about that. the motors are probably strong enough to handle it, but I’d have to test to make sure.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thanks Mark i will stick with catalyst for now, my wallet is not happy with what i m thinking :D
watched alot of videos, this is the number 1 question ...
The M3 has the same Bluetooth app functionality as the M2-S
Have you tried it with the ZV-E10 and the Sigma 18-50mm or with the 16mm f1.4?
The Sigma 16 doesn't balance perfectly - but the motors are strong enough to handle it if you get the balance close enough. I did not have the 18-50 to test.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thanks for the feedback.
Does this work well with little dougie and a Smallrig cage? I'm considering this.
yes, it works with the kit lens and likely all the lenses on the list the Zhiyun says go with the zv-e10
No zooms as far as I know. A few primes. Check the list I linked. If the A7iii and a lens are listed, you won’t hit the eye cup, undersling or not
Send it over to Bennett, he knows what he's talking about... haha thanks for doing the review !
I have the crane 3s for my FX6 but for my smaller ZV1 and A6500 the m2s or m3s would be a great combo 😉👍🏻 best cinematic greetings from germany
Hi Mark. I think of buying Sony A6600. But I'm not sure if it is worth. Will you help me and other folks hanging around your chanel :-) ?
I would look at the A7C instead - they aren’t too far off in price and the A7C offers some good advantages like the gyro data, flip out screen, full frame, and better colours
Nice Review. Would you know if the Nikon Z6 with the 14-30 Lens works with this
It doesn’t list that lens with the Nikon - if you look at the spreadsheet I gave there are a few lenses it supports like the 16-50. But if the lens is not too long - you should be able to use it. You might not get full range of motion, but the motors will likely hold it
Hi. When i connect my gimbal m2s to Sony ZV-e10 by wire then I can’t use face filter do you know any tips for that if you know please let me know thanks
you can’t use face and eye autofocus when connected tot he gimbal (or a computer)l this is the main reason I don’t connect mine
It doesn’t balance well at all, but the motors are still strong enough to handle it
Hi Mark, does the zv e10 with the smallrig cage and kit lens work? Thanks!
yes, you can fit the cage no problem.
Mark would the crane m2s work with zigma 56mm 1.4 and zv e10
I think it will, yes
Would love a balancing tutorial with zv-e10 kit lens! Been having trouble..
Noted!
OMG, This fill light is amazing, I love the fill light, dear Mark, your video is so funny, I don't like the quick releaseplate of the M2, now they upgrade it, I would get the M2S, thank you Mark
Great for my A7iii👍
Gimbal or put the money towards the Sony 11mm and stabilise? Mmm... ordered this gimbal, then cancelled seconds later. Too much to carry about. Lens first I think. Maybe something for me to think about at a later date. Oh gawd, watched your video til the end. Now I may order one!
the combo of both is amazing 🤣🤣

Will Zhiyun Crane M2 S work fine with Sony a6400 and Sigma 16mm F1.4?
I can't be sure because I haven't tried it - but my guess it that it would not work.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis I just realized that you used A7III and Sony 24mm GM, when combined together weighs 1095 grams while Sony a6400 + Sigma 16mm F1.4 weighs 808 grams. Ideally it should work.

Is the M2 S good for Zv e10 with sigma 16mm?
The Sigma 16 doesn't balance perfectly - but the motors are strong enough to handle it if you get the balance close enough. it works very well with the sigma 30mm

@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis haha!!
can this gimbal handle A6400+tamron 17-70 ?
it’s not listed as one of the approved lenses - but it may work. there are some similar sized zooms with the a6400 that do work. But without testing, I can’t really know.
I saw a comment in other channel saying if you use USB remote, then you lose face detection and eye detection.. Can you check this out?
Somehow you and your voice reminds me of Owen Wilson, nice review!
we have the same nose and money too. 🤣
Cheers man
By the way i just bought Zv e10 after watching your videos.
It’s a great camera. Use mine pretty much everyday
Mark hope you see this. I am seeing that a lot of Hollywood films someone said are shot most often times at 40mm. Have you ever heard of this?
certainly some have been shot on 40 - but they were shot at super 35 which in full frame term is more like a 60mm full frame terms. it’s just a focal length that is close to what the human eye sees. There are so many factors that go into deciding which lens is best for a shot.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thanks Mark. Have a great weekend.
So the M3 is stronger than the new M2S?
Yes it is. both still depend on having the right balance, but the M3 is much more forgiving
