Dexter is another good breed to raise on grass only. Just a few acres youtuber raises them up in New York state the same way you do. Very gentle breed and excellent eating

I see your cattle are polled. British White Parks are horned. Are the steers you buy dehorned or crossbred with polled Holsteins?

Thanks for the videos. I’m looking to get started raising steers in the next few years. What is the going price for your feeders when you purchase them? Is it at auction? How much profit per steer when taken to butcher?

We purchase from a private grower for $2/pound at 500-600lbs. We then sell for $4.50/lb at roughly 1000-1200lbs. The way our setup runs, we have very little labor that goes into it, making it a nice income source for the farm.

the breed you have there is british whites, they are not white parks. White parks are horned cattle and british whites are polled cattle, they look very similar but they are two different breeds. I use to have a heard of registered british whites, and they are very nice cattle to work with. They do not do as well at the sale barn as angus or herefords do for some reason.
