It took a very long time for this video to make to youtube, I've been looking for it for a very long time everywhere. Thank you for posting it, brings back memories to me.
In the 1980s during the second golden age of Country Music, I recorded many videos from CMT on VHS. This was one. The vision of Stan Hitchcock, creator of CMT, was the primary force behind this rebirth. This was one of the first and most successful videos. TG Sheppard was originally a music promoter who became close friends with Elvis and actually lived in Graceland. This video won wide spread recognition and awards in the full spectrum of the music industry. If I had known back then, I would have recorded at a higher speed for better quality. If you want a 1/2 hour excellent video of a 1990s interview with TG, I can send by mail on CD. At one time I had almost 100 videos on You-Tube but removed many of them. Since the early 1990s when MTV purchased CMT and with the sudden removed the visionary Hitchcock, Country Music has loss so much to the point where it is basically background noise.
@sydney6565 This video won a speical award. I watched a 1995 interview with TG and he described the details surrounding the video and other aspects of his life. He first got into the music business as a promoter for recording artists.
Nice song.
This video was in heavy rotation on CMT the summer of 85.
Elvin Bishop did a country-rock version in the 80's, I think the 80's (might be the 70's)... anyway it hit the top the pop charts... then...
