I’m glad bc my brain was about to explode thinking that I was going to have an extra weapon laying around and not in the figure. Love how you pose them at the end. I will get ideas from you
Damn. Alley Viper was always one of my favorite Joe figures, when I was younger. It's figures like this that really tempt me to get into this line. If they release a Night Creeper and the v2 Snow Serpent, that might be the tipping point.
Mark my words - Shockwave is gonna be top notch whenever they get around to releasing him. Will be a great rival for these Alley Vipers. Only thing holding me back is the orange and hopes that they will release a repaint.
So happy the Alley Viper finally came. It is one of my favorites since a wee lad collecting the 3-3/4. The orange and blue! The visor! The shield! Allegedly they keep more pouches stored in the pouches. Allegedly.
Ive been looking all over the 3d printing sites to find some 28mm stl files that are Joe inspired, i have not had very good luck. Seems like an untapped market if anyone out there has that skill set, i wish i did.
@@jaysoloarts6509 Renegade Game Studios is make a TabletopRPG for GI Joe (as well as Transformers and Power Rangers) and they have teased a line of miniatures - showing off some Joe Sculpts, for the game. That's what got me started.
I'm sure someone said it already, but the grapple rifle does clip on to the "proton" backpack. There's a peg on the lower right side. It goes through the trigger guard of the grapple rifle. Makes it vintage accurate.
I love the opening skit pointing out 'how the hell is the Alley Viper supposed to be camouflaged?' always thought that was weird. I have no massive attachment to G.I. Joe but I've been collecting this line and like the look of both of these, the BAT especially. Curious when they'll release here in the UK, this line tends to come out slower but is easier to find here since there's no Target for the Target exclusives, so they get general release. Still I won't complain since we've got the new Spidey retro wave early, just found Shocker and Hammerhead yesterday.
I won't mind having a Alley Viper repainted in red or blue or black in future re-release. And good idea about having a joint on the claw. It would also be nice to have the mechanical arms and hands painted silver rather than plain grey. But Habro has been stepping up and improving the designs.
Thanks for pointing out what "shock oil" is and the proper kind to use for action figures. I've seen people mention it in forums but never bought any for fear of using the wrong kind and staining a figure.
My Alley Viper didn't have the wonky right-eye. Also, the silver bits on his belt are carabineers. Loved this review. Can't wait to finally get a BAT, whenever one decides to ship. Lol. Thanks Robo!
Great reviews dude!!! I just got these and I’m very impressed with them!! I just ordered the gridiron studio Alley Viper Riot pack to take him up a notch. I love the accessories they make. The AV is definitely one of my favorites of the line!
Robo, there is a peg on the Alley Viper backpack for one gun storage, it was right next to your thumb when you said there were no pegs or holes for gun storage
Great review Robo! I was in to this line…. It as it seemed harder and harder to get the characters… I sold what I had and got out. But seeing these new troopers… and how much easier it seems to find/ order the figures (Barbecue is STILL at my local Targets) I’ve been contemplating getting back in. It’s either this or Super7s….. UMTIMAAAAAAATES line.
So another case of "Realistic is Unrealistic", same as the complains about the vest overlays greatly limiting mid-torso articulation, despite the fact such real vests do limit how much you can move your torso (even more if it's bullet-proof).
Hey robo great review as always for the classified line. got these two on the end of 2021 and they are by far the best especially the b.a.t. I looked over the legs for the b.a.t. from the other figures in this line and sure enough they are new and pinless as it is said when there are pinless joints then it is a new sculpt. looks like they are from someone from this line but not sure. anyways keep up the great job on this line and look forward to see what else you do next. have a good week robo 🙏
Thanks to you Robo I'm sold on the Alley Viper and ill have to get atleast 3!! And i have a couple of BATs but i think i need 2 more as well!!! And as always love your reviews!!!🖤
Greetings from Michigan, Robo! I finally figured out why the lower legs of some of the Joe's (Duke, Beachhead, Alley Viper, etc) are slanted to the outside. I took apart the lower legs of Beachhead and saw that the plastic body part (upper calves) which are directly below the knees and above the boot rotations are the same. - Hasbro factory needs to rectify for sure... although I still love the figures...and your outstanding reviews and likeable personality. - Keep up the amazing work, my brother! -- Paul Slinkydance
More pizzazz! I don’t remember getting Alley Vipers as a kid. I liked the more less outlandish troops like Techno-viper and Televipers and the like. I love love loved the BATs. I think besides Stormtroopers these I bought multiples of. Like four or maybe more when I was a kid. I definitely remember them being the most versatile. But I remember that claw being the main player. Now with two BATs you can have double claws! Oh yeah! Great stuff.
The Alley Viper and BAT two of my favorite Cobra troops as a kid. The classified line did them justice and if this is the direction that Hasbro is going with this it will be great. I know they had other versions of the Alley Viper so I can see is getting repaints down the line. As always Robo the review is great and I know what to expect when I open them.. just got mine in from pulse yesterday.
I boil and popped Flint's lower legs and swapped them around and the pads lean slightly to the outside now, and of course, swapped the feet accordingly. The lower leg sculpts don't seem to be left/right oriented anyway. As for them leaning inward in the military, it makes sense. 💯 Robo we need some Joe Grunt army builders to combat Cobra, I’ve picked up a few Valaverse Delta Troopers from Wave 2B as my greenshirts until we get official ones from Classified to join those ranks
The Classified line is having some really neat looking figures lately. I guess over time the line is improving. Also I think you missed that the grapple gun could peg onto the backpack of the Alley Viper. Judging from some of the pictures you showed at the end and a certain nub sticking out of it. Now it’s even more reminiscent of the vintage figure like that.
I finally got both of these in from amazon. excellent figures and yeah it does kinda suck that the alley viper doesn't have that one extra backpack peg to house his extra rifle, especially when there's a lot of extra space on the side of the pack they coulda put one.
I'm going to use the Action force Delta Trooper as regular but still highly skilled troop builders for the Joes. I can see Hasbro using some of the Alley Viper mold for Night Vipers. I want some Night Vipers!
The shin guards are how they are supposed to be, offside. That's how they are supposed to be worn. They are not supposed to be symmetrical. In real life, they are not. They protect the inner tibiae.

Hello really excellent the video as usual....on the other hand do you have the problem that I find chronic between the legs of the gi joe? that is to say legs that have trouble moving, we even have the impression that they are worn out??? nobody really talks about it in the videos while the majority have this defect.
I pre-ordered the batts 1am first day from BBTS and entertainment earth. Not one of them shipped them out yet. I did however get an email from BBTS that they prioritize there orders according to the amount of prices in the order and then after those are completed they will fill out individual orders. So with that I’m not buying anything from them again
Great review Robo! I'm addicted to the line like so many other people but I wish they would slow down with the overlays. They look cool and they're useful but they completely eliminate torso articulation. Also do you think there is more reuse in this line than compared to others? It seems like there is a lot but they mix it up well so that it's not easily noticeable.
I’ll admit I’m not the biggest fan of the BATs…however this figure has certainly made me like them now more than ever. Alley Vipers have always been great though.
As I work on the file card for @Toy Habits We noticed the Vangaurd icon is different and I noticed in this vid you missed it too. So is there any idea as to what this canister icon is? We're thinking it's a smoke grenade being a skill of smoke screen? Thoughts?
