Never got a televiper as a kid because I hated the helmet, but as an adult I had to nab this looks much better 30+ years later to me.
I might be in the minority on this but I like the Windowless packaging, they replace it with Cool, Badass Art from front to back. Not to mention they also show you in cool art all the accessories, it looks so good! Makes you wanna keep the box afterwards instead of throwing it away, lol.
Y'know, I agree with that.
For the larger boxes that's true, but some of the the individual figs. look horrible.

Yep I have the canopy issue too.
Still, this thing is so fun - so much better than getting another motorcycle. They got it right doing a small, massable vehicle with a well-done army builder.
Also, they finally seem to have landed on a common head ball size - the Cobra officer and viper were different from the crimson guard and each other; this one uses the same size as crimson guard, Tomax, Xamot, and Shipwreck.

Now we just need a proper neck length standard. I swapped extra Craig and Hector heads, ShipRoll has a long neck, RockWreck has no neck. 🤦♂️

I love the intro because when I first saw the name on the box in target, I kept thinking of sketches where different Cobra soldiers and higher-ranking members would keep going up to Scrap Iron and asking “All that R&D time for “Trouble Bubble?”
And of course bonus points for the use of Brian Regan
especially due to the lack of a stand post hole, these definitely get the fishing line to a screw hook in the ceiling treatment

This line is so much fun to collect and since I have been collecting this line I have almost completely forgotten about the black series and Gi Joe just brings me back to my late middle school and high school days when the cartoon was on television which I own the entire Sunbow series on dvd now.

I got two of these sets because I need two TBubbles for the Crimson Twins. The Televipers were an afterthought, but seeing them now I'm glad they were included. The extra heads are just icing on the cake.

While I liked G.I. Joe's growing up originally the line didn't give me much interest more then soldier fodder against my legends and DC figures. Now I'm all in, I collect all Joe's and most cobra figures!!!

I want more smaller vehicles. Would love the VAMP and that Cobra turret thing with clear canopy (I forget the name).

funny that it has the same minor issues the original version did with the canopy. I remember as a kid the canopy not fitting on one side lol
I love the retro sci-fi look of this. Sure, the military stuff in Classified is the bread and butter, but this is what's gonna make me buy a figure. Feels perfect for some classic Nick Fury hijinks! Some of these guys on some durable stands like Obitsu stands or something and you can get a cool escape scene going.
I might get two... my figures are gonna have to prepare for bubble, and make it double!

Thank you for the tip with the canopy. Got 3 myself and all 3 had the same issue as yours. Maybe that's why there hasn't been a restock yet, to fix this QC issue?
Hopefully, it's such an easy little tweak, maybe they are taking care of it at the factory.

I want to say the vintage version had the air mine shown on the packaging putting it in the seat like a drone.
I love this set so much. I had a blast unboxing it and being a kid again. However mine does have the exact same issues yours does with the one side of the canopy and the off-centered tampo. Disappointing but I still love it.
Yeah, it should bug me more than it does but it doesn't really damper my excitement at all, I love it too much!

My only annoyance with this thing
That left side missile was born loose. Might be a defect in the mold(making the hole ever so slightly too big).
No stands for all these items that hover in the air. Same with the Chariot. I was able to make adapters to go wit my stands but it's still annoying.
I also thought Robo was breaking into a rap at the end.
I am so sooo excited to get these!! But I don't know who I want to put in there... probably those crimson versions of the twins that are coming out... we'll see. And Robo, you are exactly right! I never watched GI Joe and knew very little about it, but after getting Serpentor and a couple troopers I knew I had to dive in. I've been watching old episodes of the cartoon on RUclips and collecting these awesome figures ferociously now!! 😅

Funny thing, I think I had the FANG as a kid and not the Trubble Bubble, but I remember the Trubble Bubble way more than the FANG.

Good to know the canopy and loose missile on the left side if facing forward isnt just me.
Also the aerial mine in the 80s figure was meant to peg into the seat and replace the driver so it was sort of like an unmanned kamikaze drone. It was also much larger in scale taking up almost the entire seat. The classified one is a lot smaller.

Take a nail file to the clear tab on the bubble. hit the edges a bit and it will pop into the whole.
A couple of these will display wonderfully with the Dragonfly next year.

I absolutely love them, Tele Vipers always had been weird to me but we had to have them. I wanted three of these but settled for two think maybe pick up a TV if someone sells it for cheap or do.something custom with the heads. 😊
Because of the purple, I feel like the Marvel Legends Paladin could be fudged in to some televiper unit.
I got 4 on the way. If they restock I’d have to stop myself from getting a few more. Just don’t need that many televipers.

Great review! Funny thing about availability. This didn't sell out when the pre-orders came up. IN fact, they were available for MONTHS. it only sold out in late August. It's possible that more might show up but I honestly don't know what Hasbro's policy is on reorders from their manufacturer.
Good call with heating the laser cannon. I didn't do that and almost broke the ball peg off. "Almost" at least means I didn't destroy it! Definitely heat that up first.

I had the foresight to buy four flight pods. Well maybe the fact I’ve cut way back on everything else gave me more wiggle room. I’m about 60% sure Hasbro does the recolor on this, probably crimson red. That will come with a stand. Honestly they have a perfect mold to borrow from in company. They are a Can of Beams style glider holder away from clipping onto the bottom of the Bubble on then plugging into that ball on Fortnite stand. The Trubble Bubbles were fun hand candy as a kid and just so much so as an adult.
Robo since you have the Mezco Destro you should use that stand for the trubble bubble since it has the cobra logo on it

On my Trouble Bubble the air mine plugs into the back of the front mounted big gun. Have you tried that?
that one is different mine has a yellow helmet with the yellow parts combination of trouble bubble plus that windshield of yours is clear thats nice .
The body is Recondo with a Vest.
I saw a bunch of reviews for this figure, but Robo is the guy that seems to have more fun, always.

So far mine and every review I have seen has the same canopy issue. My closes on the right side a tiny bit better but I have the squeeze the canopy to get it to. I'm not using my Tele-Vipers to fly it. I am using standard troopers for that. I have a great stand that has a clear flat top I got from Amazon that the Bubble can sit on and looks like it's flying. The stands come in 6" 8" and 12" heights. I got 2 to flank one of my HISS Tanks. Or to Flank Serpentor's Air Chariot.

I hated the there was place for the mine to plug onto the Flight Pod.
Mine came in in an … what I can only think was a stepped on outer box. And inside box not much better.

I knew it would be bad ass. I did pick up three but I checked out mine. I have that same issue with the canopy and that one missile keeps falling out.
This is yet another review where the HUD was put on crooked. Just got mine in the mail and won't be too thrilled if they are all wonky.
Very cool, though shame about the lack of stand and the issues with the canopy.

I want this goofy thing for my Star Wars shelf. I don't how well it would really fit in but maybe with a custom paint job, I could totally see a Stormtrooper flying one of these.

I feel like that triangular ball joint stand we've seen with Marvel Legends and Black Series releases would work here if there were a hole. It wouldn't be very high but that ball joint would allow for some expressive poses.
These figures are great but I've dropped off them this year. A major factor for that is they're harder to find for me, here in the UK aside from Pulse I've hardly ever seen any in person, and on Pulse they're constantly out of stock. Plus since I've been prioritizing more near and dear stuff, G.I. Joe doesn't fall into that category, so I'm okay skipping out on them in favour of my comic stuff, or Star Wars stuff, or Indiana Jones, or Universal Monsters, or Pred- you know what, there's a lot out there to collect.
Wanted to see if you could find out where that mine goes, I hate accessories that don't store on the vehicle.
Btw I also had problems with my canopy closing on the same side but shaved the peg a bit instead of the hole and that seemed to work out fine too.
