The creator's of Yonder, that was their first game and they made a second one called Grow: Song of The Evertree that isn't a huge departure from Yonder but it's definitely much more recognizable as it's own game with influence from other series being scarce. It seem with their second game they really pushed the envelope and made something pretty unique and the artstyle only got better and more unique to match it. It's a very pretty game but still isn't really meant for difficulty or combat, laid back games are their forte and I'm all for that personally. I wouldn't call Grow a BoTW Clone by any means BUT, worth a play for sure. Upon further research, it seems that the small Studio is made up of 3 people, each previously working for big studios like Bethesda, Blizzard and SEGA. One had worked on the Batman Arkham Series and The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Each also have over 15 year's of experience. Truthfully, considering the size of the studio and scope of the game's they've made so far...i'm actually impressed and it's no wonder the games look so good, their first one might have been a bit of a clone but it was still unique in it's own way. I hope to see them make more game's in the future and think supporting them is honestly a great idea.
I actually 100% yonder, and song of the ever tree has been on my wishlist for ages. Now that i know their both made from the same team, i'll buy it now haha
Both Yonder and Grow: Song of The Evertree are the great games of high quality. I love Yonder so much, that I left the game unfinished, because I don't have the heart to end this beautiful experience. Crazy, I know.
Honestly I'd be surprised if Cloud Catcher Chronicles is even a clone of BotW and/or inspired by it considering it released just 4 months after it, too.
Fenyx Rising is definitely a good game when it comes to satisfying a BOTW itch. It has over world puzzles, shrines, exploration. The writing is probably the most decisive aspect of the game though, you either enjoy it or find it absolutely cringe inducing and it has such a constant presence in the game that I can see it hampering someones enjoyment. Definitely something that could use a toggle, at least as far as non-cutscene voice overs go. Edit: I played on Switch and don't remember any frustrating series of crashes. So that's an unfortunate downside of the PC port I suppose. I definitely recommend playing on consoles. The game opens up later, with Clashing Rocks serving as the Great Plateau of this game, and the rest of the golden isle being entirely open to explore. The combat is definitely a highlight, though as you progress you will eventually break it and trivialize it. Again, it really is about whether you can get past the writing or not, as that seems to be the game's biggest downside.
Blue Fire is one of my favorite indie games of all time. Also obligatory "when I played Blue Fire we didn't have such things as checkpoints, you new fans don't understand the pain." I also loved Immortals Fenyx Rising.
The equipment and skill system in Immortals Fenyx add A TON to the combat and stuff, I love it. Armor sets and weapon buffs that actually change the way you play in a significant way. Actually somewhat difficult enemies. oh!! Also, the equivalent of BOTW's shrines, whatever they were called? They are so much more varied and interesting than the botw puzzles it's ridiculous!! Even 40+ hours in I was still finding shrines that used the different skills/mechanics in clever new ways, whereas in botw honestly I kinda stopped caring about shrines after I got a lot of them cause they're just too simple (although the DLC shrines were actually pretty great). It's like they took all of botw's systems/mechanics and added to them. Obviously it lacks the polish of it's predecessor, and the narration style won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I genuinely think its superior in a lot of ways! I hope they looked at it for inspiration when making botw 2, cause fenyx did a surprising amount right (I really loved the more varied mounts too. And how it just materializes under you lol. I just found a weird ethereal ghost reindeer thing a couple days ago, it's pretty sick)

100% agree. It’s a fun game and the puzzles are great. I played this on PC and never had a crash either. The issues look to be system related and not the games fault.
It’s unfortunate Immortals crashed so much for you. I played it on PlayStation and LOVED it. The devs worked on Assassins Creed Odyssey and were really inspired by Breath of the Wild when it came out, hence why they made Immortals. It’s especially fun to explore once you get off that tutorial Island.
I actually really enjoyed "Immortals: Fenyx Rising". I've always loved mythology, so I loved going around finding all nods to the stories I had read about. The dialogue grows on you and the game play itself becomes quite fun as you progress. And I think the issue with the games crashing is your computer's issue, not the games.
no, it really isn't. I play every game on the highest graphic settings without performance issues and fenyx rising crashed on me so many times. i still played it, still enjoyed it, but it's 100% the games issue

Immortal Phoenix Rising is worth it, it is very like breath of the wild and the game is really fun to explore. It gets better as you go. I play it on Xbox Series X and it plays perfectly, ive never had the game crash or performance issues. It also looks beautiful, especially once you get alittle further into the game.
immortals is a good game you gotta play it rather than sit there saying zelda botw clone lol i have the game myself its very good dialogue is fun to listen to its not something like most games where i deliberately turn down the voice volume in sound settings and cringe at all the cutscenes (FORZA, RIDERS REPUBLIC being two big ones)
A game came out recently called Tchia that takes a lot of inspiration from BotW, but has a lot of really fun ideas as well, like the ability to possess items and animals to control them. If you do a series of these I reccomend it!
found this video while I was literally replaying Fenyx Rising on the Switch! I got it for $20 USD, and had enough fun with it to grab the DLC as well. The dialogue is pretty non-stop, some bits are funny, some are not, but overall I liked it (matter of taste of course). But where the game really gets going is combat, particularly aerial combat. You get a move where you can pull yourself towards an enemy. So you do that with the flying enemies, get a few hits in, then pull yourself back in, find the next target, repeat. I had so much fun doing that! But, yeah, my opinion would be different if it was crashing a lot. If you find it cheap on a console, it's worth a pickup and play through. Looking for things to tide me over until Tears of the Kingdom, Blue Fire and Oceanhorn seem like things I'd like! Thanks for the reviews!
It’s a pleasure to watch and listen to you. You are so enthusiastic and not trying to focus on the imperfections of the games, not willing to bash and destroy them. A good relief on RUclips ! I played the whole Fenyx game on switch (30 CAD on sale) and experienced only one crash. I thought it was actually a good game even if the dialogues were… well… sometimes you smile but it’s quite heavy. At least in French the voices are better… Fenys doesn’t have such a high pitched voice and there are not forced and fake Greek accents. This might help. And you can get some pieces of Greek mythologies though the game and dialogues, which is interesting. Yonder might also be a good choice for kids, so they can experiment this kind of games without the stress of the enemies.
I really love craftopia. It's so insane the amount of systems and mechanics that are in the game. There's even a pokemon inspired monster catching system lol like they put so much stuff in the game that is just so wildly unnecessary but I love it lol
A shame I can't recommend it to anyone - I did have fun with it but it's insanely jank, and the mechanics are a kitchen sink of different and often conflicting or half-implemented ideas
So, Windbound is actually a roguelike game. It’s really nothing like BotW or WindWaker except in its aesthetics. It’s a really fun survival roguelike with a really cool story. After you clear the first islands’ boss fight, you unlock the ability to make more boat parts, including sails, and a lot of the game becomes about building customized sailboats and sailing around between islands. It’s super fun, and I absolutely loved my time with it.
Immortals works perfectly on consoles (including switch). and the dialogue gets better to the point that you actually start caring about Zeus and Prometheus
You don't know how happy I am right now hearing you say Yonder!! I haven't even gotten to the part that you play it but it's one of my fav indie games! I recently completed the Lady and her 55 cats quest which took me like. 2 years lmao. its such a gem of a game
yeah i feel like he might play it i mean in that runeless all shrines run his horse was named fischl, which i have never seen that name anywhere else so its a joke lol
It's a great game! I've had it for a couple years now, though the story doesn't take too long to beat I love how much thought went into the diff environments, seasons, NPCs and quests. Its controls are pretty fun, I sometimes go back to it just to go and build things, having to explore and gather materials and pet animals without having to worry about hostile enemies is comforting
To me the dialogue sounds like the intro you get an amusement park ride when you're waiting in line. Like cheesy and a bit patronizing. I can see how that could be used for humor though.
I adore Iron Pineapple’s videos, and I adore BotW, so this video was right up my alley and I enjoyed the heck out of it! You made me laugh real hard on multiple occasions. Ocean bound 2 looks pretty cool and seeing that kinda made me wanna play it. I thought when you got to the main island it was giving MAD Skyloft vibes lol. Loved this video, and would love to see more!
For a future episode of this series, I'm curious of what your take would be on the game Baldo, the Zelda-like game that has art similar to a Ghibli animation.
I highly recommend the indie game Tunic, if you're searching for a challenging zelda-inspired game. It pays a huge homage to the very first zelda games and incorporates that nostalgic spirit into the gameplay mechanics. But it's also quite challenging, since it takes some inspiration from Dark Souls as well. It won't hold your hand throughout ;)
I played Craftopia when it was on Game Pass and it was so much fun. Like, ridiculous physics chaos fun. Also, the game mechanics are really complex and the possibilities are almost infinite if you take time to master it.
Have you played Tunic? It is super good homage to the original Zelda! Also love Iron Pineapple, and I think this could be a very entertaining series, keep on!
Just a note, not a single crash mentioned for all these no budget indie passion projects but the one game published by ubisoft immediately keeps crashing that's hilarious
I put in around 100 hours to Fenyx Immortal Rising on PS4 Pro and maybe ten on Switch through my online save. I think it crashed a couple of times on Switch but never on PS4 in the whole game. Oceanhorn 2 on mobile actually is great. It’s higher resolution and 60fps on iPhone 12, and even better on Mac
I just finished Windbound, and I actually enjoyed it a lot. It is a low story, exploration focussed game, but I found it relaxing. The knife is practically useless to fight with, but some sticks and made spears, and eventually bows. And when you make a sail you can move way faster on the ocean.
You got lots of patience. I dislike tedious repetition after death. I mean, it's okay for dungeon crawler type game. But an exploration/survival type? lol Imagine if skyrim did that. "You're finally awake" for the 73rd time.
I liked it somewhat, but I just couldn’t deal with the way I had a shortage of basic materials later in the game when I had to toss said material in the first islands/worlds. I also really couldn’t deal with the stupid purple fog poison islands. The game is sort of chill, but suddenly you’re faced with areas that just made me stressed haha. The way you always have to keep on moving is frustrating to me. I’d rather want to build more of a base. And why can’t you sleep? The health and food bar aren’t good enough either. Why isn’t there a separate health potion or smt? So many small things that made me give it up at the fourth “world”.
@@amandaa8472I couldn't feed her fast enough to do anything but keep trying to feed her (and failing). That in itself made the game so difficult that I had to turn on a cheat system where I could have no drop in hunger. I also used unlimited storage (caused slight glitches) because the amount of space needed compared to amount available was forcing you to basically drop numerous necessary items. I also used something to make my weapons not break faster than I could get more. I've heard these things are a bit typical of survival games, so perhaps the real thing is I apparently dislike survival games. But things like BotW and its Eventide Island quest was fantastic.
I played windbound because it really did remind me of breath of the wild from the previews. What I found was a game where you're supposed to accomplish some stuff while exploring but your hunger dropped faster than you could replenish it. It was a never-ending struggle to survive, much less accomplish anything else.
I'm genuinely interested in eventually playing the Oceanhorn games. They're very Zelda-inspired, but that's not a bad thing. More Zelda-like stuff is cool imo. :) (I have the same opinion with Pokémon-inspired Monster Tamers like Coromon)
41:00 I’d put money on it that the devs made Fenyx’s voice actor listen to Kratos’ barks from GoW4 during combat combos & told her to mimic them exactly.
I Watched 10 Iron Pineapple-Like Channels, You've Never Heard Of! Jokes aside, I love this format and it was a nice treat to see it in the Zelda community. You earned a sub!
Windbound reminded me of Worlds Adrift, and I am always looking for similar games. But yeah it's pretty fun imo. Get used to the combat and min max food production lol
I can't belive immortal fenyx rising crashed on you that much, I play it on Nintendo switch and its never crashed for me and it's one of my favorite games. The dialogue, while constant I personally found hilarious how the characters would play off eachother and I went out of my way to talk to everyone i loved the dialogue that much
Fun vid! I’ve watched Iron Pineapple’s originals, but since I’ve never played a souls-like, the game-play is mostly impenetrable to me. It’s just fun to hear him laughing. But Zelda I understand a little better, and BoTW I understand extremely well, so I can appreciate this vid a lot and really enjoyed it. I hope you do more!
Immortals fenyx rising is actually fun once you pass "initial zone" with a lot of tutorials and mandatory first quest with that dialog. After that you're basically free to go, the dialog starts again only when you start any other bigger quests like saving one of the gods (same thing as with beasts in botw). I actually really enjoyed it!
Blue fire was one of my favorite platforms to play. Some of the void levels were a PAIN in the ass to do, especially for the extra Lore portion (for those who know, you know) but really fun to explore and play. I also loved the little Emote as they also helped unlock certain puzzles or extra goodies (plus they were fun to use) and the many different spirit options to help you level up or get through certain bosses. I give it a 8.5/10, would recommend anyone to play :)
btw the IFR crashes mainly started since they released it on steam, i have no idea what went wrong, but even so i have it on Ubisoft, since the steam release i get crashes, it never (or like once per 30 hours playtime) crashed before.
fyi, fenyx rising has no issues with crashing on the switch. my take on the game is: it's huge, you have to get used to the dialogue cuz it literally never stops, the battle tech is the best part of the game (and visuals, it's very pretty), and it has a pretty good final boss fight, but it lacks variation. everything is built on a few key building blocks and they just repeat those building blocks everywhere, on a massive scale. overall I enjoyed playing it to the end, but doubt I'll go back and do it over again, it's just too repetitive.
I'm curious what you'd think of The Pathless (2020), which I loved. It's a (small) open world, your only weapon is a bow, upgrades and puzzles are scattered around ruins, you have a spirit eagle companion, and each area is gated by a boss fight, so you could easily argue it's a subset of certain Zeldas.
I like imortals fenyx rising, it's a slow start but after the first bit you're way more free and you can explore and take side quests etc. I also haven't had any crashes playing on switch and steam deck.
U can get like 1000+ hours out of craftopia. The things you can craft later, like breed machines that shoot the cows automatically into the cooking pot, transporting it afterwards to the chest. Automatic miners that transport the minerals to machine crafters and so on, its really awesome.

@Renoir he does play Genshin, he has a video about genshin where he speedran it and said he mains Hu Tao
I wish you got to see the rest of fenyx because it is a great game, you were just stuck on the first island part. Kinda like the great plateu
Bike of the Wild is my new favorite Game. Fantastic Video as always.
Congrats on the placement! You've earned it mate! Really wanna try yonder some day..
@@Hidden_Fern might give it a try. Something that baffles me tho, there are really no enemies at all? Not even in the way stardew valley had em? :D
Anyone played Turnip boy commits tax evasion? there is a reference to Blue Fire in that game
@@tobi_play3802 never played it but seems fun
That's what it's all about with most 'Tubers' these days. And most Journos. Money. The opinions, Subs and takes are just stepping stones.
I'ma be honest, I like the dialog in Fenyx. It's just the type of humor I enjoy and the voices don't bother me either
Loved this video, and would love to see more!
yonder is one of the best games i've ever played. so simple yet so heartwarming, wonderful game
43:27 I had the exact same “yoooo it’s the guy!” reaction to the Narrator 😂 always a delight to hear his voice!
For a future episode of this series, I'm curious of what your take would be on the game Baldo, the Zelda-like game that has art similar to a Ghibli animation.
thank you, its on the list
I highly recommend the indie game Tunic, if you're searching for a challenging zelda-inspired game. It pays a huge homage to the very first zelda games and incorporates that nostalgic spirit into the gameplay mechanics. But it's also quite challenging, since it takes some inspiration from Dark Souls as well. It won't hold your hand throughout ;)
I played Craftopia when it was on Game Pass and it was so much fun. Like, ridiculous physics chaos fun. Also, the game mechanics are really complex and the possibilities are almost infinite if you take time to master it.
Funny coming back to this and seeing Craftopia’s developers put out a Pokémon-inspired survival game and being met with the same response.
I tried that yesterday and i think its quite a bit better but I still agree its mostly the same response
@@Limcube You're still replying to comments after months 🤯
The conversations between Zeus and the other god are funny. Sometimes. Not really that annoying. And i never had a crash on Xbox.
I clicked on this thinking it was a Limcube + video, heard "grab a snack" and realised it was a 50 minute main channel vid, I am pleasantly surprised
Yonder is such an underrated indi game. It’s so absolutely adorable and the story just hits my heart
Ironically Oceanhorn 1 got me into the zelda series years ago.
Have you played Tunic? It is super good homage to the original Zelda! Also love Iron Pineapple, and I think this could be a very entertaining series, keep on!
Tunic is the best indie i played in years, so good
I was loving the game, played it for like 25 hours, until I dropped it and didn't comeback.
Blue Fire was fantastic. I think they recently added a full-on level editor system, for free!
Just a note, not a single crash mentioned for all these no budget indie passion projects but the one game published by ubisoft immediately keeps crashing that's hilarious
As one who played oceanhorn 1 and 2 i actually found both very enjoyable
I put in around 100 hours to Fenyx Immortal Rising on PS4 Pro and maybe ten on Switch through my online save. I think it crashed a couple of times on Switch but never on PS4 in the whole game.
Oceanhorn 2 on mobile actually is great. It’s higher resolution and 60fps on iPhone 12, and even better on Mac
A game like yonder that’s purely exploration and no enemies is Sable, very good game. Amazing soundtrack and environments.
I have to say the Oceanhorn series is pretty fire both games felt like a loveletter to classic zelda games and have cool and unique worlds.
I really liked Sable. The frame rate was kinda weird and it's more of an exploration game with no combat but it had a lot of charm to it.
Apart from the Bike joke game I was actually impressed how decent they were. Still not for me, but dcent games in their own right. Kudos!
23:50 The music is a remix of Shovel Knight's main theme, in case someone is wondering
Yep, here's a link to it.

I love Iron Pineapple's videos so this was a treat to see today. I'd love to see more of these videos from you!
This video is not only really funny, but I actually might check out one of the games!
Great video! I'd be interested in more if you make it a series
Please make this a series :)
@@yt-dm8ns I played on Adventure mode, so if I died I just had to repeat the chapter. I would not have had the patience to repeat everything. 😅
I loved Immortals Fenyx Rising. Great story and fun gameplay. I couldn't get into the expansions though.
I played windbound because it really did remind me of breath of the wild from the previews. What I found was a game where you're supposed to accomplish some stuff while exploring but your hunger dropped faster than you could replenish it. It was a never-ending struggle to survive, much less accomplish anything else.
Immortal fenyx crashes alot in my switch too ..but the story and puzzles are great !!
37:16 "Who knocks upon my door?" 👹
No one...
🥺

I'm genuinely interested in eventually playing the Oceanhorn games. They're very Zelda-inspired, but that's not a bad thing. More Zelda-like stuff is cool imo. :)
(I have the same opinion with Pokémon-inspired Monster Tamers like Coromon)
If played oceanhorn 1 on my phone and I think it is windwaker for mobile devices
have you hear of "A Knight's Quest"? is zelda inspired, on PC is only on Epic store
41:00 I’d put money on it that the devs made Fenyx’s voice actor listen to Kratos’ barks from GoW4 during combat combos & told her to mimic them exactly.
I've been crying laughing at Bike of the Wild. Especially "look at that killer angle!!"
I Watched 10 Iron Pineapple-Like Channels, You've Never Heard Of!
Jokes aside, I love this format and it was a nice treat to see it in the Zelda community. You earned a sub!
I hope this becomes a series, but also that you explore the more unknown indie games, not the known ones
Windbound reminded me of Worlds Adrift, and I am always looking for similar games. But yeah it's pretty fun imo. Get used to the combat and min max food production lol
Yonder is genuinely amazing, I think! I love it! Such a fun, soft little game!
I recommend the game Sable. It has a lot of Breath of the Wild mechanics as well.
Yeah it's really good
I can't belive immortal fenyx rising crashed on you that much, I play it on Nintendo switch and its never crashed for me and it's one of my favorite games. The dialogue, while constant I personally found hilarious how the characters would play off eachother and I went out of my way to talk to everyone i loved the dialogue that much
100% agreed, really great game. the dialogue, mythology and story in particular really hooked me
I played Immortals rising on switch. It’s not terrible if played on mute and mash through the dialogue. It felt like a mix of BOTW and god of war.
“The grass is green, this reminds me of Breath of the Wild” this guy
Mans sounds so angry with Bike of the WIld, I love it
“Lumie?? That looks like ghimigoul from the hit game Pokémon Scarlet And Violet 😲😲” hahaha love the enthusiasm 😂😂😂
I’ve played oceanhorn it’s fun and more like one of the earlier Zelda games (the first oceanhorn)
Immortals fenyx rising is actually fun once you pass "initial zone" with a lot of tutorials and mandatory first quest with that dialog. After that you're basically free to go, the dialog starts again only when you start any other bigger quests like saving one of the gods (same thing as with beasts in botw). I actually really enjoyed it!
i adore yonder, i’ve replayed it SO many times.
Blue Fire is such a cute game, I loved it when I played it, I'm so glad to see it featured somewhere!!
11:09 That made me laugh so much!
"Eh wait, are we exploding?
Every game I'm playing we're exploding!
What is going on?"
Good thing you didn’t put in Genshin impact because it’s not a clone but everyone thinks it is
Im also AR60….
Blue fire is such a fun game and gets even funner when you unlock more movement
I started the game but couldn't do anything with it...
And I found that kind of a shame.
Bike of the wild should've been game of the year instead of elden ring. It's clearly the game to play.
Please do more of these awesome videos because I am loving this
Windbound promised so much but, yep I'm with you, it became a tedious experience pretty much 10 minutes in 🤦♂ shame really!
That paraglider in the first game is just ridiculous!
im happy genshin isnt there, since its not like botw at all, except one cutscene which is a little bit alike
Im also AR 60 so it would be a bit ironic
The best thing about fenyx rising is the jokes and dialogue between Zeus and Prometheus
btw the IFR crashes mainly started since they released it on steam, i have no idea what went wrong, but even so i have it on Ubisoft, since the steam release i get crashes, it never (or like once per 30 hours playtime) crashed before.
That "from developer from software" almost takes off to the moon! LOL
Windbound was a great game! Nice to include it.
LOL I chocked on my soda, when you hit the bomb on Oceanhorn 2 lol. Caught me off guard.
8:16 "Whot is dat" xD
fyi, fenyx rising has no issues with crashing on the switch. my take on the game is: it's huge, you have to get used to the dialogue cuz it literally never stops, the battle tech is the best part of the game (and visuals, it's very pretty), and it has a pretty good final boss fight, but it lacks variation. everything is built on a few key building blocks and they just repeat those building blocks everywhere, on a massive scale. overall I enjoyed playing it to the end, but doubt I'll go back and do it over again, it's just too repetitive.
'Since i had to buy all these games myself, i am **very** happy about todays sponser'
Yuuuuuuuuuuup. That fat cash probably helps a ton.
Blue fire is a love letter to the zelda series. And a fun game as well
Fenix was a really great game me and my son played it through 2 times.
Him trying to talk and being interrupted by the dialogue killed me 38:15 🤣🤣🤣
U can get like 1000+ hours out of craftopia.
The things you can craft later, like breed machines that shoot the cows automatically into the cooking pot, transporting it afterwards to the chest.
Automatic miners that transport the minerals to machine crafters and so on, its really awesome.
