You don’t have to eye ball if you put a piece of the non stick paper that comes in between your tag tape. It is amazing, nothing sticks to it. When your dry just pull it out. Only take a few minutes and your good. I learned it from a lady on another RUclips video. You ladies are amazing. I love all your tips and books. Your work is amazing..
Thank you for this video. I think I was (in my mind anyway as I haven't made a junk journal yet) applying the constraints of a regular mini album to these albums. You have shown here, that although sometimes there are themes, or similar papers, you can be as free as you like - that there really are no rules! Thank you - the pages here are lovely, and you gave me much inspiration! Julie
Cheryl.... I really like the way you do things... we agree on a lot of things... such as putting the elements on a page all wonky... I, too, think it is more pleasing to the eye......Thanks for all the tips and tricks.....
Your layering style for your tucks really appeals to my tastes. I must try to do this in my next journal. That's if I ever get of You Tube lol. Tfs and always inspiring me.
When you are trying to glue things on doilies, slide a piece of waxed paper between the layers.. When the glue has set, gently pull the paper out. The rest of the doily is left clean. Hope this helps....you have certainly helped me many times!
Hello Cheryl, I just stumbled across your crafting today and really enjoyed your video's. I had not heard of Tyvek before today and wondered if it is suitable for die cutting with something like a Grand Caliber ? I can think of sooo many uses for this stuff especially with it's reinforcing properties. Thank you for all the info you provide in your video's they are very enjoyable to watch
Awesome tips Cheryl! Love the idea of covering the dark pages with doilies or embellished since they are too dark to write on. Love the doily and feather dies and love the Lindy's shiny metallics.
+Patricia Largent I've been trying to get in the mood to actually start a new album, not having too much success right now though. This too shall pass :)
That's why I coffee stain my papers first, let dry then punch them out. That punch you showed at the beginning would be good for weaving ribbon or lace in and out of the holes. BTW I'm just now catching up on all of your videos. I love them all.
Cheryl I had some of those doilies that stick together from Michaels. After tearing some I sprayed them w/ a very light mist of water, wait a few minutes, then they easily pulled apart. Tere
I've recently found your videos and subscribed. Love your Tips, Tricks & Tools. I currently make (from scratch) albums, more designed for pictures but I tell my friends they could be used for whatever purpose they think of! I love your "style" of journals that appear to mirror my own choices. I share the same mindset as you when it comes to the overall eye appeal and embellishing. Thank you so much for sharing your talents. Lless confident artists as well as experienced artists will be inspired with all your videos. One question (lol) before I go. In this video how did you attached your papers to create one-single page? Thank you from MN. GJ
Here in The Netherlands you can by them in any household shop or cheap shop (like the Action); you can use them for under a cake of pastery, as decoration!
That's the tub I use. I also use them to store current projects (ephemere, papers, embellies, etc) that way it's all enclosed. I freeze my coffee dye in a water bottle.
Thanks for sharing the process! Layering is very hit or miss for me; I like the difference in the shapes you chose and will try to use diverse elements. I love the MS punch; also love the lacy washi tape. I usually punch after I spray or dye and bake. I think that makes the paper stronger in texture. I have had very bad luck with round doilies. When I use them on the edge of the page as tuck spots, they don't hold anything, and I wind up gluing the whole thing down. I see that maybe I need a thicker line of glue. I just got a bunch of square ones; once more into the breach!
Thank you Cheryl for sharing your ideas with us, I am learning so much. I love your style!! I have yet to actually finish a junk journal, but have a heck of a lot of coffee/tea stained papers LOL. Anyway, I just wanted to say how much I really enjoy watching. And I was curious, is your mom a crafter as well?? Take care and looking forward to seeing more.
Thank you so much for this and all your video. I needed this video. Im working on my journal. I have a weird question. I want to tea dye my papers, can i use iced tea also or do i have to use the hot tea bags? Please let me know what you think.
I don't see why not if it's a mix. just use a lot with very little water to start. People use coolaide, and I don't really see a difference. You need to make it strong though.
I had a question, I bought some things from Etsy and I don't know if it's because it's my first time and I don't know what I'm doing (probably) or what is wrong, but when I print the things out like tags and postcards, they are not the right size. I'll keep trying things but if you could give me a few pointers, I would really appreciate it, thank you.
+Anastasia Miller I think I got it figured out, I went to the Pzap sight and cropped them out and enlarged them. Thanks for letting us know about the sight.
Love tthis video. I am sure you will be sick of me asking questions LOL. But..your lid for the glue, is that an idea you came up with? Cause i have major issues with the glue taking foever to get out, but if i just stick it in a cup, it spills out lol. Thanks again!
Connie Eads No Connie, tacky glue has many different bottle sizes and shapes. I love this one. I just keep refilling it with the big bottle of tacky glue
delygirl1961 Thanks! I will have to look into that. I live in a small town, so i have not seen one like that. Looks like some online shopping is in order haha.
delygirl1961 Can you say what the size of the glue bottle is I was wanting a cap like that too but I didn't find that one while looking at tacky glues.
Hi, how are you? have I seen most of your beautiful things like that is called old notebook? is it?. do I love you got walkthrough? from step by step? thanks I subscribed to your channel.
Here is the first video in a series showing how I make a journal using a file folder. I think that is what you were asking me. ruclips.net/video/cploIkm81FM/видео.html

Cheryl I just found this video and I hope you get this but I always keep my receipt from Michaels and if I buy something that disappoints me I take it back and they cheerfully refund my money or exchange the goods.Afterall why should I waste my money, so don't toss craft supplies return them its your money you are tossing.
No Susan, it's Cheryl. The name delygirl came about because I needed a name for my email. I worked in a deli at the time. I tried deligirl, but someone already had that name, so I spelled it incorrectly. :)
Wow, this video is 2 years old, but the tips are timeless. Thank you so much for sharing. I love watching your videos. Keep truck'n. LOL

It is one sheet of paper folded in half, stacked together and then hand stitched to the cover
Here in The Netherlands you can by them in any household shop or cheap shop (like the Action); you can use them for under a cake of pastery, as decoration!
Yes, they are available in many places here. The only difference is the price, depending on where you buy them
Thank you for the inspiration.

Sandy B she used to be, but finds it too difficult now
I just LOVE your journals, do you sell any of them? I would love to purchase one. I really enjoy watching your videos.
+Jackie Olearchik
Not yet Jackie. I'm hoping to open an Etsy store sometime this year to sell some of my journals, as well as digital journal kits
just watched this video again Cheryl, really love the page ideas, what size is this? it looks like 3x5 or somewhere about that.
+michele odstrcilek
I believe it's a 4x6 Michele
so helpful ...tfs!
You're very welcome

I have used baby powder to soak up the glue if it gets where I don't want it on other stuff like doily's.
good idea
Where do you get Martha Stewart punches? I just checked Michaels and couldn't find any. Do you have any suggestions?
check Amazon.com

Very helpful, thank you (hey this one is really short, lol, I didn't write a book).
Haha no you didn't
Do you iron your papers after you have tea or coffee dyed them?
Most of the time yes. I like the look and because I usually stuff as many pages as I can in the book, it helps with that too
thank you!
Love tthis video. I am sure you will be sick of me asking questions LOL. But..your lid for the glue, is that an idea you came up with? Cause i have major issues with the glue taking foever to get out, but if i just stick it in a cup, it spills out lol. Thanks again!

Hi Cheryl,
I luv all your videos. I have subscribed. Luv the washi tape you used in this journal! Do you remember where you purchased it? Did u stain it or did it come that color? Thanks again for your helpful videos!!
Really wish I could remember it for you, but no I don't. It came that that color.
delygirl1961 That's ok. Thank you for responding! :-)
allenes glue, do you only use it on paper to paper and not on actual pictures, cause its not acid free right?
+michele odstrcilek
I don't like using glue at all when putting pictures in, as I find it cracks. I always use acid free double sided tape
thank you for doing this. theres not many of these on here. well i can't seem to find them lol. i'm off jjj on facebook
You're welcome Tania
Hi madam nice to see your video.

Just do a search on RUclips for beginner junk journal tutorials and that should get you some answers
I think I understood that you punched your edges before you stained them? I stain first, then punch when dried.....and it goes well. 🙂
that's good
Awesome ideas! You're so creative!!!!
Nickie Renee
Thanks Nickie :)
I mean journey, sorry
Cheryl I just found this video and I hope you get this but I always keep my receipt from Michaels and if I buy something that disappoints me I take it back and they cheerfully refund my money or exchange the goods.Afterall why should I waste my money, so don't toss craft supplies return them its your money you are tossing.

i do not understand what is a use for your "art"?

I make journals to write in
