I love these tips & tricks you do, thank you. You are so generous in helping us w/techniques & important info as well as where to purchase. You are grrrreatttttttttt. (Felicia, Texas)
I really enjoy all your ideas and tips tricks and tools. I am laid up here in bed for another 4 weeks and I just found you yesterday ,I have watched them over and over. My favorite was the Rooster. Although green is my favorite color too and butterflies. Any thing vintage!!! Great Job :)
Just finished watching all of your "Tips tricks and tools", Love, love love! So extremely helpful. Such a joy to find people like you willing to share so much! Look forward to your blog, and the tools list would be awesome! THANK YOU!
Thank you Cheryl! These videos are so handy, they all the answers to the questions I have been thinking as I've watched you make your wonderful journals!🦋
I have been watching a lot of your videos lately and I have learnt so much. I really like your style and as I am not a new crafter but I am pretty new to making journals you have given me so many ideas on how to decorate a journal both the covers and inside a journal. I purchased some of the Kraft-Tex yesterday as I have heard that it is good and now I know how to use it. The doily is very pretty I like the look that the Frantage gives on a project Tfs, Janet
Perfect timing Cheryl. I almost ordered the wrong type of Stampendous product. I have a Joann's cart filled and thought I'd check out a few videos to help remind me of products I've been wanting but haven't gotten around to buying. So glad I saw this before I bought otherwise I'd be sad. I always love your Tips, Tricks and Tools. So glad to hear that your going to be trying to maintain a more consistent schedule. I always am happy when I see a new video from you. Don't over tire yourself though. I know how much working at Starbucks can take out of you. I worked there for 5+ years. You are the only other person I have ever heard of who says they like storms and also because they love the wind. I love storms and I love the energy that I feel from the wind. That's just fun to know I'm not alone in that feeling. Thanks for mentioning :-)
I've always loved them. When I was a kid I would wrap myself in a blanket and sit on the deck during thunder and lightening storms. That is until my mom made me go in the house lol
I work with Kraft-Tex, too. It's really great seeing how you do it. Thanks for your inspiring videos! I always look forward to seeing all your beautiful creations! :-)
Thank you so much for sharing your talent with me. I love everything you do, but it is very kind of you to show how you do it. I might be looking forward to your retirement more than you are because then you might have more time for videos lol
Lovely doily. So vintage. Who would think it started as a plain white doily Do you make your own mix of frantage with a bit of other embossing powders thrown in? Thank you Cheryl. As informative as ever.
Thank you for the kraftex tutorial! Just to make sure the order is clear, is it: 1. Score both pieces for the spine. 2. Decoupage the front and back covers. 3. Decoupage the two pieces together. 4. Bend to create the spine. 5. Decoupage the inside covers. Is that it? I don't sew, so will just be gluing.
If you aren't going to be sewing, then I would only do 1 layer of Kraftex. I use 2 when I don't want my stitching to show on the inside. Cut an extra strip of card stock to glue on the spine. Laying card stock on the inside and outside of the cover will make it plenty strong enough.
Yes you can, which is what I did last time, but I did get a bubble. I just turned the bubble into a pocket at the back. So if you don't mind it not laying flat, skip that part if you like.
I wish I knew how to sew and had a machine. If I don't sew, is it still best to double up the Kraftex? Or is one layer good. What would you do if you didn't sew?
What kind of printer do you use? I have been buying different digital papers and the color comes out crappy and inconsistent. I have an inkjet. Thanks.
It may not be your printer Paula. Paper is just if not more important to a good image. I use a matte 26# photo paper from redriverpaper.com I do use an HP officejet pro 8710
I must of missed something? Help! Why double the Kraftex? I use it a lot and like the idea for a cover for a journal! But did not understand why you doubled it! I really like your videos!❤️
Thank you! A store you may want to check out online is Scrapbookingmadesimple.com, Stacey has lots of goodies. She carries Stampendos, etc, & her pricing is great. I love her Simply Defined or Refined Double Sided Tape, she gives you more than the other brands & it's a lot stickyer(is that a word). She also has stamps & dies that she's designed herself, gorgeous! Great info, thank again. Hugs & God bless, Linda :)
Ive been watching Stacey since she first started RUclips's...she has come a long way...she teaches a lot to Cheryl........intact I mention her in a couple of my videos to as well as you...you both have been a tremendous help to me and my crafting...give her a try....she has a non skid craft mat I ordered and love it!!!
Clean the back of your stamps with rubbing alcohol, alcohol wipes or surgical spirit, and your blocks, they should dry in seconds, then try to attach them, you might find they will stick......with luck lol!
I am always very happy to see your tip videos come up. I go back and reach old ones. Thank you.
You're welcome Lynn

Beautiful work. I do hope you make a list of most needed craft tools. I’m just beginning and have no idea with what I need to start with.
I will try and get something together soon, just going through some family stuff right now
Great video, Cheryl, lots of great tips. I've never used Kraftex doubled like you show, I imagine it makes for a stronger cover. Tfs. Debbie :)
Yes, but still pliable
Wow! That is pretty darn awesome!
Thanks so much Cassandra
great tips never used stamps or frantage on my doilies!!!! need to try since I have all that stuff
Have fun playing
Brilliant Cheryl.
Thank you Andrea
Lovely doily. So vintage. Who would think it started as a plain white doily Do you make your own mix of frantage with a bit of other embossing powders thrown in? Thank you Cheryl. As informative as ever.
sometimes, yes. You can buy it already mixed, which this was. I just added extra gold
I wonder if you could spray repositionable adhesive on the back of the stamp and make it work that way??? That sucks! I need to check my stamps now 🤣
Why a double layer of the craftex? Is it to make the cover stronger? Just wondered ❤️🥰🇨🇦💋
Maggie R yes I wanted it beefier. However it isn’t necessary
Thank you for the kraftex tutorial! Just to make sure the order is clear, is it:
1. Score both pieces for the spine.
2. Decoupage the front and back covers.
3. Decoupage the two pieces together.
4. Bend to create the spine.

Is that it? I don't sew, so will just be gluing.

One more question please: Do you crinkle, soak, and iron your kraftex? Others recommend this process. I'm wondering if it is necessary.
I don't no
Great! Thanks for responding!
thank you for the informative video........I am new to kraftex......I looked on amazon, but did not see a color like you use. What color do you use?
I think it is called natural
well, that is not a color offered :( I will keep looking! :) Thank you for your reply.

TFS! Your awesome!
Thank you Angela
Thanks Cheryl for the information, greatly appreciated. It has been super windy here in Alberta as well. What part of Canada do you live in?
West Coast, just outside of Vancouver
Which fiskars cutter is that? I did not know they made one that wide.
ProCision Rotary bipass trimmer
Could you not stick front and back together on forget the gluing covers together?
Yes you can, which is what I did last time, but I did get a bubble. I just turned the bubble into a pocket at the back. So if you don't mind it not laying flat, skip that part if you like.
I wish I knew how to sew and had a machine. If I don't sew, is it still best to double up the Kraftex? Or is one layer good. What would you do if you didn't sew?
There isn't a need to double the whole thing, but I would strengthen the spine with something. Like duct tape or book tape
delygirl1961 Thank you! I got my Kraft Tex in the mail and I'm scared to use it. Lol
Just dive in
what is crafttex I've never heard of it,and where can you get it.

Nice video. Could you heat it in the oven? By the way, I live on Vancouver Island as well. We didn't lose power here, but some of our neighbors did.
You could try, let me know if you do, and if it works. Keep a close eye on it
I must of missed something? Help! Why double the Kraftex? I use it a lot and like the idea for a cover for a journal! But did not understand why you doubled it! I really like your videos!❤️
Just because I like it lol. Personal preference. Plus I like to hide the stitching in between so the paper on the inside is smooth.
where do you get the 60 lb matte plus paper?
Redriverpaper.com
Man, I am having quite the time... I tried to listen to what kind of pad you used ( it looked cream color )....no luck.
Susan Hill do you mean the Versa mark? The one I use to stick the embossing powder to?
