I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?

I was also an ARMY veteran back in 1994 and I ALWAYS cry rivers when i hear the USA national anthem. I am currently 44 years old😭
I think one of my favorite things about this performance, when I watched this live, is that she did this so tastefully. A lot of other performers often try to go too bombastic and get too show-off-y (and ends up going on too long for what this song is supposed to be). She honestly did this so well.
(Edit) one of my favorite performances I’ve seen her do was her Sound Of Music tribute. It blew me away.
And everyone (including myself) was worried she wasn't going to be tastful

kso 40 I agree with you, Lady Gaga always knows her audience. She wasn’t gonna come out in stretch pants and a mask on. She respects America very much and she knew her audience was the Super Bowl crowd and she knew exactly what she was supposed to do and did it with perfection.
you could feel the emotion in the song Gaga totally owned the national anthem like no other! I loved jennifer hudsons version and whitney houstons version also but man o man Gagas version moved me! Im still talking about it years later hehe
I thought she was a flash in the pan, gimmicky, auto-tuned performer when I first heard of her and saw her and heard her. Turns out I was completely wrong! Her music is not my cup of tea, but she does have a great voice for sure! And she always has the command of her crowd. Hard to knock that!

I was one of them the first of my friends who thought it was cool when Bing Crosby and David Bowie did The Little Drummer Boy on Saturday Night Live. They all thought it was corny, I thought it was historic. And it's become a classic so I think I won that one. Y'all have a great day! Peace!
Funny that was quite the opposite for me. Never really fan of mainstream pop but somehow I always respected her talent. It was just something different. Compare her to the Katy Perry's of that music world who can barely sing live.
I cried when I watched this. I was so happy she got the halftime show next year. This is the best national anthem I've ever heard. It always will be.

Lady G has one of the most resonant, beautiful timbres in all her registers of any singers I’ve heard. She is polished, effortless and the epitome of accomplished ❤️
I've heard the National Anthem sung by a lot of people and this is my favorite. And you are right a lot of singers overdo it. This was just right.
She absolutely killed it! And I love her sparkly red suit and eyeshadow. It's so gorgeous and she pulls it off well.
I honestly didnt know how talented Lady Gaga was. I to thought she was over the top but ever since A star is born it alliowed me to witness just how talented she is. Im so glad that shes shinning.
It was her performance of Julie Andrew's "The Sound of Music", at the 2015 Oscars, that dropped my jaw. And Bradley Cooper can be seen during the standing ovation.

@@kimmyball4961- I know FOR A FACT Whitney's performance was pre-recorded, because I know people who did the sound. Having said that, they always have a pre-recorded back up in case something goes wrong. Weather, artist has a cold, sound mixing problems. Don't know why Whitney chose to lip synch, there weren't any external problems on the day.

Gaga is a woman of many talents, until this performance I did not realise what a complete diva she is. A true Superstar.
One of the best renditions of the anthem ever. Or that I had heard anyway. I was just coming around to being a fan of hers when I heard she was going to be doing this at the Super Bowl and I was curious to see what her approach would be. Leading up to it and performing it she did it with such class that my respect for her shot way up!
I really appreciate that she puts her little taste of Gaga whilst still keeping a classical and respectful atmosphere to it. One of the greatest singers of our time for sure. She has the talent and the training to go the distance.

I've been waiting for this reaction video. Thank you. Gaga's performance was probably the best of all time, in my opinion at least. Whitney Houston was amazing, but was pre-recorded. I don't really like Mariah Carey as she over-sings a lot, but I guess she was ok too. Anyway, great reaction video as always.

I honestly think that was the best diction rendition of the national anthem I have ever hurt I don't think I've understood the words of the American national anthem better than that rendition. I'm really amazed.

You can feel how much she loves our country. I was overwhelmed by emotions. Incredibly one of the best rendition of the National Anthem. Gaga proved herself to the world.
Then you should listen to Lea Salonga as she sing the National Anthem if you want to hear good rendition.
You know with her that she is going to give a solid performance and with a few minor embellishments, respect the anthem. So much better than those who think singing the anthem is about them showing off. Good job.

Whew.....I can't literal chills every single time I hear her do this! She is too much, LOL. I think she's one of the few people who didn't butcher that song trying to put their own spin on it. She should get to sing that every year!!

Rebecca, I remember being blown away when i heard this at the time. Its even more impressive once you've gone away and heard some of the real turkey national anthem performances.....that are all out there on You Tube to live forever.....and that is what also adds to this performance for me, its the total commitment Gagas shows, really stretching herself to the edge of her ability, knowing full well that there's a world of critics out there etc etc. Funnily enough, before this performance I had in my mind that Gaga wouldn't be a very patriotic sort...but having heard this i had a strong sense that she was really determined to do the anthem justice. Well done her. I genuine creative talent.

I never paid much attention to lady Gaga when she first came out because her music wasn’t my type of music but about 4 years ago she did the half time show for the super bowl and I was blown away by her and her talent been a diehard fan ever since.

i love Gaga's carpool karaoke with Corden. Just watched it a few days ago for the first time. She seems in near perfect voice, especially on "Million Reasons". Would love to see an analysis of her songs in that.
Her halftime performance from this same Superbowl is super-WOW. Didn't even know about it until I watched 5 foot 2 on Netflix. She puts every ounce of her soul into her performance and her music.

just wow. I have never heard that performance before. National anthems are traditionally dirgey affairs and usually there's nothing better than the end of them most times, but that was quality and enjoyable and i'm not even American...! Those jets with perfect timing were awesome! Well done Gaga!

Ohhh, lawd...it's a very hard song to sing. You have to start it super low to end up in a decent part of your voice/ability. She nailed it and kept it classy. Too many singers showboat this one and ruin the moment. I love your analysis. I am learning so much from the videos you do. Thank you. And your whole affect is pretty hilarious at times.
A very tough song to sing. She started singing in a lower register to probably ensure she will meet that high note. Flawless.

I love our national anthem! Thank you for this. When it's sung well like this or like Whitney Houston did it way back it makes me so proud and brings tears to my eyes.
