Thats the difference between black singers and white singers many black singers sing from the heart and white singers sing by notes it has no feeling. When you sing by notes its pretty singing that lacks emotions.

Her ability was enhance when she went to Brit School, she has always had the ability to belt at this magnitude its what you do in church literally lmfao. But the music she signs doesn't allow her to show her full capabilities unless you have heard mama knows best or who you are live.

I just saw her for the 1st time last night as I got trapped in the very addictive world of " Blind Auditions " on The Voice, love watching people realize that talent has nothing to do with appearance, age, or walk in life. Being a musician I am hyper-critical of ppls performance and know the tricks of the trade. No auto-tune in my day nor super dubbed loops and over dubbed tracks. All analog and one time through. If the timing or pitch was off, producer said, “again”...I was called one-take-Mike bc, well, I usually did my section in one take. Especially my vocals...I miss it. Now I’m an old rocker watching the future. Bless u and ur story, it made me cry bc I had kidney cancer and about went to rocker heaven...now I have a bad heart ❤️...so time is precious. Thanks coach! It's really difficult to rank which of Jessie J performances in "Singer 2018" are my top 3, since all of them are top notch. This one made it, barely, because the lyrics fits so well with her heart condition at the time (she pushed through despite still being sick, against her doctor's advice. She missed the previous week's episode already because of her heart issue ). She really felt it, and that makes the performance. The lyrics fit her, it became *_her_* song, with entirely different meaning compared to the original. This performance, for me, (narrowly) beats her other Whitney Houston covers in "Singer 2018" which may sound better technic-wise ( _"I Have Nothing"_ - one word: elegance ), or just as heartfelt ( _"I Will Always Love You"_ - her personal goodbye letter to the fans/audience). My top 2? _"Purple Rain"_ takes 2nd, because as I mentioned: "possessed" by the spirit of the music and the song itself. Most favorite? _"Killing Me Softly "_ as the performance that won me over. This was her 3rd of the series. The 1st got my nod and attention. The 2nd _"I Have Nothing"_ got my ovation. This 3rd, I'm converted LOL. That's why that performance is special, I suppose :) ? In case you do wish to ramp up, however, have a peace of mind there are many wonderful performances, past, present, future, from around the globe, you'll have plenty of materials, such as *YEBBA* performing - _"My Mind"_ (Have you? It's next on my recommendation list), other great performances from 6 seasons of "Singer" and other similarly high caliber shows from asia, such as many of Sohyang's compatriots from South Korea (another hot spot region for fierce battles between vocal athlete monsters), or the Philippines as you are probably already aware (Wishbus FTW :D !), etc etc. But, seriously, no pressure whatsoever from me. Her doctors technically didn’t release her, and went against their wishes to make the long trip back to China. She flew in the day before the performance, and you can tell she was physically exhausted after hitting that last big section in the music. She was close to fainting when they were going over the results.
She was nervous that she would literally pass out cause she was still pretty unwell during that performance. That’s why if you pay attention, you can see her uneasiness compared to her other performances. She said she was literally only focusing on not passing out on stage. Gotta love her!! The song was perfect

Jesse is one of very few singers to be able to hit those subtle nuances like Celine does so effortlessly. I honestly don't typically care for remakes of amazing songs originally done by superstars like Celine, but this song lost exactly nothing by Jesse singing it. Jesse is one of very few singers to be able to hit those subtle nuances like Celine does so effortlessly. I honestly don't typically care for remakes of amazing songs originally done by superstars like Celine, but this song lost exactly nothing by Jesse singing it. She is as good as the best singers to ever live. This literally brought tears to my eyes. God, I love music that touches my soul. Thank you for your reaction, Rebecca. You rock. :-)
