I have a buddy travelling the world now who I begged bring a camera. He didn't but this is working nicely in its place. Nice work guys how do you find shooting/editing while dodging adventures?
Hey Mark - that's a real shame your friend didn't take a camera, the memories we have are literally captured within these videos. To be honest, they were more for us from the start - such a good way to reflect and keep those various destinations separate (they can merge together a bit in your head). We've got it down to an art now, enough so that we can still enjoy the moments and also film - but it definitely is a balancing act. Thanks for checking our the channel!
Appreciate the reply guys. He took a still camera, but it's just not the same, it's funny cause he said it would be annoying to setup shots etc, but he's on his own with nothing BUT time so ya it would have been PERFECT. Once you nail the "format" it definitely makes it easier. Knowing what to shoot (what not to shoot so you don't over shoot) and then just put it together in your heads as you shoot it must really help. What are you guys shooting on? Cutting on? You find the spotty internet interferes with uploads at all? Keep on producing, looking forward to seeing the rest!
Well I suppose some memories for him are better than none, regardless of the quality of the camera haha. Agree re the format, our first Bali videos we had an older camera without the flip out screen and we filmed for days not knowing what the final product would look like, no vision to the end at that point. We now shoot on a fairly basic Canon G7X Mark 2, Mavic Pro Drone and a Gitup action camera for underwater. Light, portable and easy. We would love to do slow motion, but the jump in $ and physical size of a new camera just doesnt make sense when we're on the move so much. All editing is just Final Cut Pro X. You've got somegreat memories on your channel, a very different kind, but incredible also. Wow.
Thanks, ya they're my great grandfather's film reels. Travelled all over Canada back in the 60's and just thought it was cool seeing those cities (i've been there myself) what they looked like 50 years ago. Also connecting some old footage to family member was pretty cool "A Priceless Connection". Also cool seeing my dad and uncles as kids and my grandparents in their late 30's. Pictures from that era don't show enough detail, who these people were then, how they moved, how they smiled. It was a pretty special gold mine for me personally and funny enough the country (especially the East Coast PEI video) really loved it seeing it. Nostalgia is a powerful thing. You guys are heavily agile with your setup, that's great. Slow motion is overrated anyway, you can do without it especially if that cost is space and a possible interesting destination. Anyway thanks again and be safe!

First off. Thank you. I thought I was going to watch another FEAR FACTOR BALUT CHALLENGE. There are a lot of good restaurants in the Philippines. Travelers just tends to go to the dumpiest places and have the WORST BUDGET. I mean, if you travel to another continent and you've got $5 per day as your budget? you're going to get what you pay for.
Haha happy we could break the normal and show something a bit different! Completely agree, theres a time to eat on the cheap and enjoy the local cuisine but you can't really complain about it after if it cost $1. Thanks Queen - great to have you watching!

Hey Mark - that's a real shame your friend didn't take a camera, the memories we have are literally captured within these videos. To be honest, they were more for us from the start - such a good way to reflect and keep those various destinations separate (they can merge together a bit in your head). We've got it down to an art now, enough so that we can still enjoy the moments and also film - but it definitely is a balancing act. Thanks for checking our the channel!
Appreciate the reply guys. He took a still camera, but it's just not the same, it's funny cause he said it would be annoying to setup shots etc, but he's on his own with nothing BUT time so ya it would have been PERFECT.
Once you nail the "format" it definitely makes it easier. Knowing what to shoot (what not to shoot so you don't over shoot) and then just put it together in your heads as you shoot it must really help.
What are you guys shooting on? Cutting on? You find the spotty internet interferes with uploads at all?
Keep on producing, looking forward to seeing the rest!
Well I suppose some memories for him are better than none, regardless of the quality of the camera haha.
Agree re the format, our first Bali videos we had an older camera without the flip out screen and we filmed for days not knowing what the final product would look like, no vision to the end at that point. We now shoot on a fairly basic Canon G7X Mark 2, Mavic Pro Drone and a Gitup action camera for underwater. Light, portable and easy. We would love to do slow motion, but the jump in $ and physical size of a new camera just doesnt make sense when we're on the move so much. All editing is just Final Cut Pro X.
You've got somegreat memories on your channel, a very different kind, but incredible also. Wow.
Thanks, ya they're my great grandfather's film reels. Travelled all over Canada back in the 60's and just thought it was cool seeing those cities (i've been there myself) what they looked like 50 years ago. Also connecting some old footage to family member was pretty cool "A Priceless Connection".
Also cool seeing my dad and uncles as kids and my grandparents in their late 30's. Pictures from that era don't show enough detail, who these people were then, how they moved, how they smiled. It was a pretty special gold mine for me personally and funny enough the country (especially the East Coast PEI video) really loved it seeing it. Nostalgia is a powerful thing.
You guys are heavily agile with your setup, that's great. Slow motion is overrated anyway, you can do without it especially if that cost is space and a possible interesting destination.

You shouldn't need sugar in Vietnamese coffee because it contain condensed milk which is pretty much sugar, which is 1/4 of your coffee.

First off. Thank you. I thought I was going to watch another FEAR FACTOR BALUT CHALLENGE. There are a lot of good restaurants in the Philippines. Travelers just tends to go to the dumpiest places and have the WORST BUDGET. I mean, if you travel to another continent and you've got $5 per day as your budget? you're going to get what you pay for.
Haha happy we could break the normal and show something a bit different! Completely agree, theres a time to eat on the cheap and enjoy the local cuisine but you can't really complain about it after if it cost $1. Thanks Queen - great to have you watching!
